My parents lived here independently for approx 16+ yrs. they were happy. the staff (Michelle office, Donna activities) go above and beyond and really love the residents. My dad especially loved BINGO and coffee hour so he could socialize and then go back to his apt. these are not taj mahal or fancy, but adequate/ fullfilled needs, as they did get subsidized housing. Basic needs met, safe apartment with steel door/deadbolt, AC, heat worked, plumbing and water elec all worked. It was harder once the grocery store shut down, but they managed. Nice residential area closely around it, where neighbors seem to care for their homes. I am glad this place was their final home for so many years, as they were happy there. The interior residential neighborhood was nice and safe enough to go for walks. NOW, if you are part of the PACE program, that is a different story. PACE cares but they hire the laziest workers on the planet. No above and beyond effort and most are there for a paycheck and not the residents. If they are on PACE, they are at the end of their lives, undoubtedly. I made that mistake at my parent's request, and it was a cluster F. Constantly having to call the clinical coordinator as the aides would not show up for meds on time or not give it at all "because they couldn't get in the lockbox" But the apts. can't be held responsible for that. Overall, this is a good place for seniors who are on subsidies. The complaints I saw about nurses etc., leaving resident doors open was likely part of the PACE program.

I think the staff are pretty decent... though somethings that go on there just blows my mind.. Nurse's walking into your apartment and leaving the doors open when residents are sleeping or not even home... allowing others to be in an occupied apartment without that Tenants permission or acknowledgement and some of the food that I have seen these residents eat is absolutely horrendous.

It's not high end accommodations, but for those who need Medicaid subsidized assisted living, it is the best option in the area. A resident has their own apartment, which are open, airy, clean and fully remodeled from the original construction, with the full array of services of ALP.
