I am a healthcare provider who treats patients at the Atria in South Setauket. I see patients in many assisted-livings. I am so impressed with the staff, especially the Wellness department at this facility. They are welcoming and informative, and their compassion and care for their residents is noticed at all times. The residents that I treat at this facility have only good things to say about the Atria. Even the ones that initially weren’t happy about having to transition to an assisted living. I see them engaging with the recreational Director and staff, enjoying themselves. So wonderful to see. I highly recommend the Atria of South Setauket.

Our experience thus far has been excellent. A lady named Terri helped us with getting dad moved in and she was beyond helpful and accommodating. Moving a loved one into a home is a big step, and it makes the process much easier when you have kind people involved. The nursing staff and maintenance crew have also been great, and have met all of dad’s needs with a smile. The place itself is big and beautiful and they have lots of activities for the seniors. The ladies that work at the front desk are also quite wonderful. I’m grateful that dad is somewhere safe and being well fed and taken care of. It gives us peace of mind and that is simply priceless.

After checking out a number of assisted living communities, dad settled here a few months ago and I'm happy that this is where he settled. The staff seems to be genuinely caring. There was a more luxury-oriented facility in the area that we were considering, but interestingly enough I've had a few people tell me that Atria is superior as far as the care provided. The only issue that I have is regarding internet and WiFi: if your streaming video and audio needs can be met by a hotspot, then that's good, because that's apparently the only option that you have. There is some in-house CATV, but it's of SD quality at best. Netflix and Sonos is important to him, so this is challenging, but I still give the facility 5 stars. Maybe someday they'll invest in a WiFi upgrade and distribute the signal throughout the building. Meanwhile, I brought in a CD player for him.

Great place to work. The resident service director Julie and the resident coordinator Tamara are wonderful bosses. I couldn't be more happy to get the opportunity to work under their supervision.

We always get a warm welcome on the phone or in person at Atria Assisted Living. My Mom has been at the residence for about a year and a half now. It took her a little while to adjust because she tends to be a somewhat shy person but she now has made friends and enjoys living at Atria. The staff are amazing; kind, caring, compassionate, and always ready with a pleasant word and to assist. Many thanks to Jasmine, Julie, Luda, Cathy, Tamara, Elaine, Sabina and so many others that there's not room enough to mention but not overlooked! The Wellness Center professional's are wonderful and provide the type of compassionate care that allows for a comfort in knowing that my mother is being well cared for. They even check her weight regularly which has improved nicely since being at Atria. They are ready, willing, and able to assist my mother at all times; my family and I are quite thankful. Continue what you are doing Atria and may God bless you all. She now loves being at Atria. She has become more outgoing and has made numerous friends. She even participates in many of the fun activities Assisted Living

My relatives have lived in the independent living side of Atria for several years. Staff are highly trained, friendly, and caring. Atria has done an excellent job of protecting and caring for its elder residents during the pandemic. The inside is light and airy, if a little warm. The apartments are nice. Theres a library, a movie room, a mail center, meeting rooms and others. Two elevators mean you never have to wait long. Front desk staff are kinda and efficient.

Not meant to ben late Novemeber my 96 year old Moms conditon ws failing. I became apparent that she could no longer live ALONE at home. I knew people that placed their family members in Atria, and they loved it. I met Terry Mccrary who was overboard friendly and helpful. Everything was set, and due to complications, my Mom could not stay on the assisted side. Terry and everyone at Atria took the attitude that WE will make this work! They tried so hard to make a shoe fit that plainly was the wrong size. So, I will consolodate my feeling as best I can. Everyone at Atria is caring, loving, and truly interesed in every resident as if they were indeed family. My Mom went to Atria, we unpacked her things, and once Hospice arrived, thats when it dawned on us that my Mom need a lot more than Atria. In a mater of a couple of days, she was in Good Shepard Nursing Home in Sayville, and 20 days later she passed away. However, I will never forget the kindness and attention our family received at Atria. They are truly wonderful people. Thank you so much, all of you at Atria, especially Terry.

I have helped many of my clients find The Atria South Setauket for themselves and their loved ones. With both Independent and Assisted Living options, they truly have it all. Seniors can enjoy living on their own independently, while still being lovingly cared for through basic necessities likes housekeeping, laundry and meals, to personal care. The staff and residents always have smiles on their faces which says so much about the community as well as the management team. I never hesitate to recommend South Setauket to clients, friends and even my own family members. They have also shown even more dedication and compassion through the pandemic and prioritize keeping their residents safe.

I LIKE MY MOMMY JOB

I don’t even know where to begin. Atria independent living has been our saving grace. Two years ago I had to make the decision to move my parents out of their home of 64 years because my father was completely disabled and unsafe to be so far away from me. When they had issues my dad had to wait until I could drive to Queens. Was hard but my parents understood it had to be. Turned out to be the best decision for us all. Even during the quarantine the Atria made sure my parents had everything they needed to feel safe and comfortable. Unfortunately I lost my dad in June to another stroke. Mom is so grateful to be in the Atria. She has friends there and the staff is amazing. Kelly and Josephine were so comforting every day when they’d deliver the meals. They made Mom feel like she had friends who cared. I talk to my Mom several times a day and visit frequently but we all know we need more than that and the Atria has delivered. Thanks again for your outstanding, caring staff.

My Mom has been living at Atria Assisted Living in South Setauket for one year. The kindness and caring of each and every staff member has made her life safe, happy and full of joy. She has made friends and enjoys a full day of activities and so much more. The food is exceptional, the facility is beautiful and well maintained, and the quality of care exceptional. If you want your loved one to be cared for as if they were a family member, look no further. Im grateful to have found Atria!

Moving my parents from their home of 65 years in Queens to the Atria South Setauket was no easy decision. It had to be done they were no longer safe. Well it was the best decision ever made. The Atria is outstanding. I can not say enough about how wonderful life is for all since theyve moved. First of all the food is what you would expect st a restaurant. David runs one spectacular kitchen. Kelly and Josephine make sure everyone is comfortable and well cared for. Gail who runs the sewing club has made Mom feel whole again. Mom has macular degeneration and can not do the things she use to love and enjoy. Gail has gone out of her way to set it up that everyone can sew and participate. Mom looks forward every Tuesday and Thursday.

My Mom is coming up on her 1 year anniversary at the Atria. Looking back, we were so nervous, apprehensive and questioned if we were making the right choice. We now know that we 100% made the right choice. Mom is happy, active and made many friends! Also this was the first time during a blizzard we did not have to worry if Mom would be ok. Not only was she ok the Atria planned special activities to keep the snowed in residents busy. What was the scariest time in our lives ended up being the biggest blessing.

I like Atria a lot. The staff members are very attentive. I have been very happy with them; they all know my mother-in-law. I have not had one complaint in five years. My mother-in-law was in independent living for two-and-a-half years before moving into assisted living. She has a nice studio room. It used to be Holiday Inn, so it's a good size studio. The food is good. They have three meals a day. The residents are not allowed to miss more than one meal, so they make them go to dinner. They have a lot of activity throughout the day too. They have trips in their small bus. Their activities are great for old people, but my mother-in-law doesn't do anything. The price is compatible with others and even a little lower than some.

Atria in South Setauket has a facility that is called independent apartments or independent living suites. These are apartments for people who are not so incapacitated, but they provide meals and everything. My mother is bedridden. What they have done is that I am paying for an apartment that has a bed amd a little sitting area, I have a 24/7 aide staying with her, and the place is immaculate. It is clean. The staff is friendly. It is bright and very good for elderly care. They cannot do enough to help me. They are really great.

We are currently using Atria South Setauket for our loved one. We chose it for its location, its cleanliness, and the staff. They have movies almost daily, they have bingo, musical entertainments, they have church services, and they offer beauty salon services. It is not extremely large and it has homey effect. There appears to be about a hundred residents, so it’s not too big and not too small. It is also very attractive looking. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is very friendly when we first walked in. The staff members seem to be very attentive. They offer services to doctor’s appointments that you can sign-on. They have in-house doctors and the doctors come on a regular basis, so you change your primary care to their doctors. That makes it convenient because you do not have to go out even though they arrange transportation.

My parents were at Atria Assisted Living in Setauket. They got good care there; it was just that my parents needed more care. The studio apartments were modestly furnished and modestly set up. The food was good. As a whole, they met all our needs, but my parents needed more attention.

We really liked Atria. It was more of an apartment type feel, and surrounded by people. It has a beautiful restaurant type eating area. The lady that gave us the tour was absolutely fabulous, not rushed. They had a bus that can go to malls, and grocery shopping. They go an extra mile. It did not seem like any type of nursing home or assisted living. It just seem like a complex. The location was fabulous. She had sisters, and cousins nearby.

My father has been in Atria South Setauket for 3 1/2 years now. The place has met all of our needs. It has a very friendly, warm staff. They help you out if you need to be helped out. They're expensive, but you get what you pay for, and I appreciate the way they take care of him. I have eaten many meals there. We've had family meals in their family room, and they've all been fine, but my father doesn't like the food. Every day, you can have a hotdog, hamburger or grilled cheese and a lot of other things if you don't like the main course. They need a little bit more recreation going on there, though. There are too many people that just sit in their chairs all day, but they do show a movie at night.

Atria South Setauket was probably the best one that we saw. I would give it a very high rating. They're very friendly and very secure. They seemed to know all of the people who were in the complex. They're very nice people. I would rate them as excellent.

The Atria is very close to where I work. It's about 15 to 20 minutes away from my house. It's an old hotel, but inside they've made it very nice. It was very clean and very kept up, and even though I knew my mother wouldn't do them, they had more activities, and the food choices seemed much, much better there than where my mother is. They have a fish course every day. To me, it was a better place, but my mother didn't want to move. It was also more expensive. I've looked at a lot of other facilities, and it seemed to be comparable to where she lives. I was only in the assisted living area, and it seemed there were people coming and going. Some people were in wheelchairs, and some people have walkers. I didn't see anything that looked bad. I didn't see anybody who seemed to be in distress. Everything seemed to be OK. They have two types of yoga, either stand-in yoga or chair yoga. They have exercise classes. There's always bingo. They had eight things every day on the calendar that people could choose from, a lot of buses going out to local shops and stores. Wal-Mart is right across the street. They had a lot of activities on their social calendar.

Sharon and Luda go beyond what is expected in helping my father keep his dignity. To keep his mind occupied while showering him Sharon talks to him about being in the army and being in the Philipines. I am so grateful my father is in such capable hands and makes a difficult situation bearable.

My mother has been at Atria for a little over two years. Everyone of the employees have been wonderful but most of all I have to thank Jeff Thompson for all of his help from the very beginning. He has always been there to support me in my emotional moments and also with any issues that have come along. He is a great asset to Atria.

My mother, Andrea Goldstein, has been at your facility for almost a month now. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the head nurse, Robert, on the Assisted Living side, for making my mother's adjustment smooth and this living experience a very positive one. We did not have a good overall experience at her former facility (which he actually worked at for a brief time and, as such, knew my mother beforehand) and felt that she was not treated with the respect and kindness that she deserved, nor were we- her family members. As my mother has a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and there are many things that factor into and come along with this, Robert has gone out of his way to talk to and train his staff about how to approach/deal with her effectively. Right from the first day, he made us feel like my mother would be welcomed there and helped us feel at ease about our decision. He is very complimentary and kind to my mother and she, in turn, adores him. My brother and I cannot say enough good things about him. I like to give credit where credit is due and you are very lucky to have Robert on your staff. In turn, the ENTIRE Wellness staff is both wonderful and friendly, as is the staff at the front desk, the dining staff, the activities staff and basically EVERYONE that has contact with my mother. They all have gone out of there way to get to not only know her special needs, but her as a person, interacting positively with her. I would also be remiss is I didn't thank Jennifer and Meaghan, whom I dealt with initially, for making this process (which was difficult for me in general) smooth and comforting. Both saleswomen are caring, kind and helped me tremendously, making me realize that this was- and is- the BEST place for my mother to be. She, too, loves it there and already feels at home. She is the happiest and that I've seen her in a very long time. As her happiness and well-being is paramount to us, both my brother and I truly thank the ENTIRE staff from the bottom of our hearts.

My wife has been in Atria for six months now. The food is good, and I’ve eaten there many times. It’s an older facility, and the downside is all the rooms are just studios. You’re allowed a refrigerator, but there’s no kitchenette. The staff is excellent. I know everybody; they’re very personable and friendly. They play Bingo, 21, they go on trips, and they have a movie every night. They have a theater room with a 55 or 60-inch TV. They have day trips to Walmart, Lowe’s, and Marshalls, and they also go to restaurants sometimes. I have nothing bad to say about it. It’s really a nice place, and my wife is happy there.

My father is 94 and always tells me how well he is taken care of. I know when I can not get there to see him they make sure they he gets out for a walk in good weather. They respect his dignity by keeping his mind occupyied by talking to him about things that interest him, like being in the war and where he grew up. They are very respectful of his feelings.
