When I first arrived to Crimson Ridge memory care facility I almost didn't go in. I had just experienced a terrible situation at another facility. However after talking with Jeanette I felt a lot better and I was excited about the placement for my husband. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful and the staff seemed to be genuinely nice and devoted to the care of the elderly population that they serve. I really enjoyed watching the activity director who was very young or appeared to be so engage anf interact with the seniors. My husband was not at Crimson Ridge long but while he was there his roommate and himself became really close I called the Frick and Frack. No the situation that arose that caused my husband to relocated. Upon arrival to this facility I let them know my husband had incontinence of both bowel and bladder. My husband had not had a bowel movement in some time and this caused him to be severely impacted to the point he left Crimson ridge by ambulance as he had feces coming out of his mouth and nose. This hurt me as my husband never complains and as bad as the situation was he never complained. I assumed that he was gaining wait from eating not because hr hadn't had his bowels moved o should have asked questions. Fast forward to the hospital my husband finally did have a continuous bowel movement but somehow he ended up getting a Foley and Crimson said they could not manage it so he needed to go elsewhere. Fast forward yet again. Around November 1st he went to the hospital we found out shortly after he couldn't return to Crimson ridge on 11/16 I removed his belongings from the facility and this hurt my feelings as thought I had developed a rapport with two of the upper staff a d the one that was on shift the day I moved my husband's belongings gave me my husband's glasses never asked about my husband and I went to the room to pack his belongings but realized I didn't have a way to take the items to my vehicle so I go back to the office to ask but the staff had left if it weren't for the nice young lady that provided me with a dolly it would have taken me several trips to move the items. I have sent a few unanswered emails to the woman that I made my initial contact with who assisted my husbabd getting into the facility one was giving her verbal flowers and one was asking about volunteering. I guess we all wear masks and there was the mask of entrance and one for departure which were very different. Im currently still trying to obtain my refund from an over payment. I will update this lost once I receive it. O really the facility is a great place and that is why I gave it the rating that I did in spite of the small complaints included in here. I have to give my honest review. I almost forgot the receptionist who was awesome we shared a few laughs.

My dad has been at Crimson Ridge memory care for almost two years now and it's been a great experience for him and our family. I've seen/been involved in a few memory care facilities/nursing homes in the area, and I've figured out what to look for and what to avoid in a place. First, many of the senior staff stay here for years and the stability that offers is important, and it also shows that it's a well-run place. It also shows that they're good at what they do, dedicated, and like their jobs. Joyce, the Activities Director, is constantly warm, funny, and engaging with all the residents. Her activities program is well thought-out and engages the residents for both fun and mental stimulation. Latoya and Shana, the Community Managers, have done a good job managing my dad's complex medicines and health needs. They both have attention to detail which is important in managing an elder person's medical care. The nurses also tend to stay a long time - they've gotten to know my dad's needs and quirks - and it's important to emphasize this. They know how to put on his CPAP mask correctly, they know how he likes his blankets so he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night too hot or cold, they know he doesn't like it when the door is shut loudly, etc. These little things add up - he gets better sleep, is more alert during the day, and is just generally happier. He remembers their names, and they engage him in meaningful conversation. I've seen the opposite - in facilities where staff cycle through so quickly that they don't even know his name, and lot of things that are important or specific to him get missed. It makes a big difference in his quality of life. About half the aides have been at Crimson Ridge long-term, and about half cycle through quickly. That's actually an impressive ratio. Like the nurses, they've gotten to know him and take good care of him. Second, the residents are always busy, which is good. There's always a morning activity, an afternoon activity, and sometimes an evening activity. There's mind-games, fun games, exercise games, singers, presentations, etc. The staff also do a good job reminding and encouraging the residents to participate. Go and visit, you'll see. As the person who directed my family to this place told me, "whenever I go visit, I always see the residents doing things." There's religious activities, gardening, holiday decorating, monthly trips to restaurants, a daily walk, and more. Third, the food is usually good. It's nicely prepared and isn't industrial-style reheated meals. I enjoy eating it myself when I visit. I don't get the sense that they try to scrimp and save money on food. I think any individual will like some meals and not others based on their preferences. There's some things to know. This place is a high-level enhanced care assisted living home. They can handle sliding scale insulin and CPAP's. There's only a couple of memory care facilities in Monroe County that can do both - that saved us from having to put him in a nursing home. Also, there's times when things can get frustrating - taking care of a person with dementia is not an easy job, and nobody's perfect. There's times when people with dementia annoy one another, but that's the nature of things. That said, when difficulties arise, I think Latoya and Shana have done a good job addressing them, both with residents and families, and making adaptations where possible. The whole facility is CLEAN and the decor is warm. I'm there a lot, and it's the rare day when I smell something bad. They do a good job of cleaning up any messes promptly. There's different levels of dementia - and I think Crimson Ridge handles them all well. There's lots of things to engage higher-functioning people. There are also people who have lost their communication abilities so can't engage in most activities, but importantly they're safe here and well taken-care of and it's a familiar place to them. My dad's happy here, and I think that should be enough of a review.

In January 2021, I began the difficult search for assisted living for my mom. After calling five different communities, I finally found my savior ” Jeanette Cooper, who was working in Penfield at the time. From the very first conversation, Jeanette was eager to help and completely dedicated to ensuring my mom’s success. Since then, Jeanette has become my ultimate lifeline and truly a phenomenal human being! She is compassionate, caring, attentive, understanding, and incredibly hard-working. No task is ever too small for her. Even after she moved on from Penfield, she continued to answer my calls, offering support, guidance, and reassurance whenever my mom and I needed it. Now that my mom requires memory care, Jeanette has once again stepped in to assist. Gina Sorokti, who has also been an important contributor to mom’s success, promptly visited Penfield to assess my mom’s situation and coordinate her move. Unfortunately, just three days before the transition to Crimson Ridge Gardens, my mom fell and shattered her femur. Jeanette immediately made sure Crimson Ridge reached out to the hospital to help case-manage her care. Gina reached out to me personally to inquire about my mother and me, ensuring me that everything will proceed smoothly. I am beyond grateful to have such magnanimous and dedicated people like Jeanette and Gina on our side. With their help, I know my mom will receive the loving and compassionate care she deserves at Crimson Ridge.

My mom began to lose her memory at the age 87. Watching this change, after so many years of independence, was truly heartbreaking. After more than 20 years of living on her own following my dad’s passing, she bravely agreed to move into a memory care facility. Unfortunately, that first place turned out to be a terrible experience. In the short time she was there, she suffered severe trauma, and we knew we had to get her out immediately. That’s when we found Crimson Ridge Gardens, and what a blessing it has been! From the moment we walked through the doors, Jeanette reassured us that Mom would be getting the best care, and she was right! Joyce, the activities director, welcomed us immediately. She makes it a point to really know each resident, and with her years of dedication, she ensures they are engaged, moving, and feeling part of the community. Leslie and Michelle greet us at the front desk with warm, familiar smiles every time we visit. Gina, Latoya, and Shana always have their office doors open, making themselves visible and approachable, which is so comforting. Even maintenance staff are present and ready to help at all times. Most importantly, the nurses and aides treat my mom with kindness and patience. After living alone for so long, my mom has even made some true friends here, something we never imagined would be possible again. After such a traumatic start elsewhere, Crimson Ridge Gardens restored our faith that memory care can be compassionate, respectful, and supportive. My mom is safe, cared for, and surrounded by people who truly make this community feel like home. We will always be grateful for them!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this facility ... very clean, very friendly. My brother had a rough start and the staff made it so much easier for him with their patience and understanding. Interviewed other places and nothing came close to Crimson. The Activities Director, Joyce, is a very special person -- so upbeat and friendly every time I see her. The residents love her! Lynda

The need for comprehensive healthcare happened during the pandemic. The family wanted to keep our loved one at home, however we weren’t able nor equipped to provide quality care. We looked for options and did our research. The Memory Care at Crimson Ridge offered the support and care he needed to feel and be safe. Some of his needed medical checkups can be done right there. The environment is warm and welcoming. The caring staff there is well trained providing much needed support to the residents and their family. They answer our questions and support us in this unexpected and challenging journey. We thank God for the team at Crimson Ridge.

When looking for a home for my father, my husband and I toured five senior assisted living facilities that offered memory care in the area. When we entered Peregrine’s Crimson Ridge Gardens there was such a stark difference. The building is light, airy, clean and modern. Most importantly, the residents appeared happy, friendly and engaged. The staff is always polite and pleasant. After almost 2 years of keeping my father with us at home during the pandemic, we were worried how he would adjust to community living. Our concerns and fears were quickly relieved, as every time we visit him, he has a huge smile on his face. He tells us how busy they keep him with their full activity schedule that is led by the Life Enrichment Director, Joyce Singleton, who is so much fun. Recently Crimson Ridge sponsored an Alzheimer’s awareness walk. That night while watching the 11 PM local news, we were delighted to see familiar faces of Crimson Ridge residents and staff lead by Latoya, walking and dancing through the Crimson Ridge grounds, decked in purple attire and decorations. My father was in the middle of the group with a big smile on his face. We are extremely grateful to Crimson Ridge for giving my father such excellent care. We highly recommend their facility for any family seeking memory care senior assisted living.
June 2021
We find that having a loved one at Crimson Ridge gives us a feeling of relief, knowing that she is cared for: lovingly, compassionately and with the highest level of care and professionalism. The staff is friendly and welcoming and ready to assist in anyway possible. The facility is newly remodeled and provides an atmosphere of warmth. There are multiple dailey activities for the residents to join. Anne Gray, the Executive Director, always answers her phone and is ready and willing to listen to our questions and offer professional, knowledgeable advise to assist in the care of our loved one.
