One year ago my Mother was admitted here. We could not be happier with treatment. Nurse Erica was phenomenal. Couldn't be happier. We've since moved Mom to VA to be closer to us, but would recommend.

The place is beautiful, the food is greate. BUT they don't have enough aides to gave the seniors a good service. And some of the ones are there, don't care about the seniors.

The staff takes care of people in ways I could never do myself in my own home. I am impressed with the activities and therapies available too. Very nice place that is kept up well.

My father is in the Jewish Home for rehabilitation. They are all wonderful. He is eating again and loving the food. PT seems amazing. I would recommend this place for anyone needing rehabilitation.

I went to visit someone close who fell and broke her hip. She is there for rehab. Her room is very small but like I said she's only there for rehab. She said the food was very good and they do have activities to do while she is there.

Tomorrow will end my short term rehab program at the Jewish Home. I can not properly express my gratitude for the excellent service and care during my two week stay. After surgery and having non weight bearing status of two of my limbs, I needed to be schooled on safe transfers and strength building exercises. The OT and PT staff is fantastic! Intelligent, uplifting and offering suggestions made the rotation of staff exceptional helpful. They were focused on my goals. Thank you. Additionally, the doctors, nurse, aides, kitchen staff, and cleaners are all polite, respectful and efficient. Thank you. Hopefully I will never need to come back but if I do it will be alright.

As anyone with a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia knows, Home care is extremely difficult to say the least. When we made the excruciating decision to get her round the clock care, we were absolutely blessed with the Neurobehavioral unit. Then once her medication was managed and diseased progressed, she was graced with a room in the memory care unit. From admission, management, nursing staff, CNA’s, hospitality, custodial and maintenance. It is apparent that each and every employee takes pride in their work at the Jewish Home of Rochester and that could be traced to the care of my Mother. My father visited every single day and I visited once a month as I live 5 hours away. I loved catching the employees gentle way with their beloved patients. The care is unparalleled. I am eternally grateful for the grace and dignity my mother, Bonnie received since day one. Sincerely, her daughter Kyle.

My sister went there after rehab for a hip replacement. The bed as so hard and so plastic she could not sleep on it so she had to sleep in her chair the whole time she was there. They said they have air mattresses, but those are reserved for patients with ulcers. If she called for help to go to the bathroom, it took forever or never for somebody to come and help her. Which eventually caused an accident. She mostly sat in her chair all day long and all night. Had 1 PT a day. She should be getting more therapy exercise than this. Sitting in a chair all day long is not promoting the regrowth of her hip muscles. Also witnessed that they don't help people in wheelchairs get to and from the dining meals. Elderly people had to try to move their wheelchair with their feet and wall rails to get themselves back to the room and I found this horribly sad. Yes, it is very nice and pretty. But that doesn't help the fact that people need help and they can't get it.

Update 2024: Our family member lived here in the Cottages for over 3 years until he recently passed. It was the best possible experience for him at a difficult time in his life. The care he got was really stellar. During his years here he NEVER contracted one single infectious disease, even during the entire COVID pandemic. No colds, nothing. Not what anyone expects for a 90 plus year old living in a nursing home. Of course I can’t guarantee that for anyone else, but that is our testimony regarding his experience in this environment. Original post from 2021: Our family member has received excellent care here, and I really can’t say enough about the experience of living in the Cottages. They feel very much like assisted living inside, really nothing like a nursing home. We have been engaged with this organization for 5 months, and they truly care about their residents. The communication has been consistently stellar, and I am now completely confident that we will always get a phone call if anything concerns arise.

The Jewish Home of Rochester is a loving, caring community. The staff are dedicated to the well being (both physical and mental) of the residents. They are so welcoming and thoughtful to the families. The facility is exceptionally well run, and the administration has done an outstanding job of protecting residents, staff, and residents’ loved ones during the pandemic. Our family is so grateful to be part of this community, what beautiful people.

The jewish was very clean food was very good lots of great aids and nurses and some great physical therapist and occupational therapist but a few aids where very rude and nasty and some nurses where very rude dr.didnot listen to me when my leg was hurting less then a week home the jewish home and back rgh.with same infection but worst they need to listen to patients more often.
