Recently transferred my 93 year old Uncle from a horrible senior care facility in Levittown. We all had PTSD as it was traumatizing to see him literally not taken care of. Sunrise is a totally wonderful experience! As soon as you enter, you are greeted by Angela the receptionist who always gives you a warm welcome along with the rest of the reception staff, who are their to address any issues or concerns you may have. My uncle is well cared for and the Senior Care Staff could not be more accommodating. He is up three times a day out of his bed to eat in the dining hall where the other place left him in his room and in his soiled diaper. I would highly recommend this place as it’s a very difficult decision to part with your loved one and trust their care to someone else. They treat you like family here and he has also gained a few pounds from the delicious food here! If I could give this place ten stars, I would! Thank you sunrise for taking such wonderful care of our uncle he is so happy here and we no longer have to worry about him. Also Sara is wonderful who is in charge of the activities and entertainment and she is always planning fun events with singers and musicians and she plays games and has fun festive events for each holiday. She completely engages them and they are always smiling and enjoy her upbeat and very caring way about her. Thank you Sunrise for all the love and care!

Sunrise of Plainview has been our mom’s home for the past 2 years. Our family has piece of mind that she has thrived in the warm and attentive environment that the staff provides. I’m sure we have not met all of the wonderful staff. I’m certain they are all as caring as Angela, Phyllis and Linda at the front desk, as well as Sara, Kamla, Claire, Nancy, Gabriel, the nursing and dining staff, and all the others I have failed to mention. It gives our family great piece of mind to know that our mom continues to lead an enjoyable and engaging life at Sunrise of Plainview.

Caring
I only met the admissions staff at Sunrise of Plainview, and they were very nice. It was more wooded, very nice, and luxurious, but very expensive. I think they have shared rooms and 1 bedroom rooms too. They had the largest rooms and closet. They dont take people that are ill; its for more high functioning people. They had music and classes, and they have a calendar of events.

Caring
I left my tour of Sunrise Plainview with a very good feeling. It is expensive but perhaps the saying is true, "you get what you pay for." The woman who led the tour, Anne, was delightful. She spend a considerable amount of time answering questions and making sure I was generally comfortable with everything. The residents seemed to be involved in activities and happy. The facility was immaculate. The only concern is that although the memory neighborhood is on the first floor, the other resident rooms/apartments I saw are on the second floor. If ever, G-d forbid an emergency evacuation was necessary, that's a lot of people to carry down the stairs. Unfortunately, this seems to be the case with most facilities I looked into. All in all, this looks like a great place.
