We picked Brookdale for the homelike atmosphere and reputation (other family members have lived there). However we are now looking around due to exorbitant price increases.

Nice assisted living facility with friendly staff. Residents often go to walmart, or on day trips to various places. (I think the latest ones were Harris Hill, and a wine tasting in PA, but not positive.) I have heard a few residents say that the trips are too short (a couple hours), while others disagree and say they were about right. Apparently the food quality varies depending on the menu that day.

Brookdale has taken care of my father for several years and they do a really good job. He didn't want to go to assisted living, but within a few months it became his "safe place". With aging parents there are always going to be challenges. They fall. They get sick. They get dementia. No matter where they live. Brookdale (their director, and the aides especially) have worked with us through so many changes to make sure my dad is safe and happy. He's not a big fan of the food - but he is a picky eater. We gave him a fridge in his room and kept him stocked with snacks he liked. If allowed, I would give Brookdale a 4.5 instead of a 4.

So far everything is working out pretty well for loved one with his move to this community. They have a lovely staff, and they have been attentive, and helpful. They are good at keeping up to date on information. He is eating well, and everything is working out well so far for us at this community. This is a community I would recommend.
