March 2026
i went to visit my great grandmother, my initial thoughts were okay this place isn’t too bad for seeing the 2.8 star review. no, i actually understand why it’s that low. as i went up in the elevator it was dirty, smelly, and run down looking. i get upstairs to where i need to go and the smell of urine was overpowering. i went in, her room was very clean didn’t smell at all. she said her nurses treat her well, i did see two of them who were bringing her dinner and they were wonderful! with all that said, she has no phone in there, she has an ankle monitor on, can’t go outside, ( she’s been there for almost 8 months with no fresh air) and has a pb&j with every meal, including breakfast. WHAT? all she has is a bed a bathroom and a meal. prisoners get better treatment than that. personally any nursing home with anything under 4 stars should be shut down.

I had to ask for a chair. The room was very hot.

March 2025
My mom was here until last month when she passed. Trying to get a call through is hard and then they won’t answer the phones. I was told by a person in the business area that they would call me back on multiple occasions and never respond back to my messages. The nurses were kind and the cna Chaz is amazing.

March 2023
There were positives and negatives to our experience with Corning Center, but that is in the past for our family now. I will give you the following advice, however, if your Mother or Father is placed in End of Life Care here or anywhere else, for that matter: Keep calling to check on your Person. Keep calling even if the employees act annoyed, too busy, say who? When you ask about your person. Your Person isn’t a room, a bed, or a number. Those are the hands and eyes that raised you, I politely suggest you also visit as much as you can, because you WILL get that call one day, and they’ll be gone forever. Don’t have any regrets. Our Person, in her prime, was a Registered Nurse who I was so very proud to watch at work, because she treated her patients with such respect and kindness. She showed me that everyone had worth. Strive to find that kind of care for your person. I believe it still exists.

My Aunt was cared for at Corning Center and the care she received was good. I am an RN with 43 years of experience and have no complaints.
June 2019
My husband was discharged from Arnot Ogden Medical to CLC for rehabilitation and I am nothing but pleased with the surroundings, the staff ratio to the patients and the care my husband is getting. I feel very safe in the knowledge that even though he's a night owl and doesn't sleep at night it doesn't seem to bother them. They are extra careful with him. I was apprehensive at the start because of the negative reviews on your sight but the staff that I have come in contact with are wonderful! They really, truly care. Even though my husband has had a few falls, they have tried their best to ensure his safety. He has SUNDOWNERS syndrome and it's keeps him up at night since his radiation and chemo for lung cancer. They keep him out of pain and as far as I can tell from his lips they are very nice, especially your import from Lousiana, Michele, the nurse with the black curly hair, I think Amy and all the girls on the second floor, they are the best! If it can be worked out with the VA I would hope this could be his long term home. It's so close for me and I can call late at night and inquire about him or even speak with them and they are more than happy to bring him to the phone. I just wish he hadn't lost 8lbs. The food looks great from what I have seen. I am there almost everyday as I know this would be a difficult transition for him and you all have made him feel safe and cared for. Thank you!
March 2019
I have personally seen the transformation of this facility, they have great caring, friendly and professional staff in all departments that provide excellent care to the residents. This qould be the nursing home/ rehabilitation facility i would choose for any memeber of my family, including myself.
June 2018
My Grandpa was abused and neglected at the Steuben Center and after some forceful words from both my Grandma and my aunt was taken to the hospital and finally to the Corning Center where he was to receive hospice until the end. Feel free to see my full review of the Steuben Center for details about that "care" facility and the atrocities that befell my Grandpa there. But this review is about the Corning Center and I couldn't be happier with the care he received there. They came and rotated him regularly and checked on him and treated him with respect and dignity to the very end. When we first arrived at the Corning Center it seemed like it was a little chaotic, and it was, but it was still organized and lively. People were moving around, staff was moving the residents around, residents were moving themselves around. People seemed content. They even have a hall monitor who watches the hallway so residents can move around freely but can't hurt themselves or enter another room without permission. Granted, he was only there for two days, he was taken there knowing it was only a matter of time. We got the call at 3:30 in the morning he wasn't doing well didn't have long left and we rushed over, he passed right after we walked in and every nurse on the floor stopped by to check on us and give us hugs and they told us we could stay as long as we wanted. They were so caring and wonderful. Even Grandpa's roommate was a wonderful guy. His name was Doug and he kept a watch over Grandpa and made sure that no one could come into the room without permission and he would call the nurse anytime he sensed something wrong with Grandpa. (My mom and my Grandma have since gone back to thank Doug and give him a present, he is such a sweetheart!) If your choices for your loved one are between the Steuben Center and the Corning Center, PLEASE stay far away from the Steuben Center for the sake of your loved one, and I do recommend the Corning Center.
