This was my first experience working in LTC. If I could take everything I know now, and go back to *then.* I would still be grateful for everything this place taught me. Experience is absolutely EVERYTHING

The best decision I've made in a long time was to move here. I joke that it's like living on a cruise ship. In reality it's living in community. A supportive and fun community.

Today I was delivering something to woodland pond and got a flat tire in the parking lot I tried to change it myself but could not get some of the lugs off, I wish I had gotten every staff member's name but I don't think they did it for a Google review or for accolades. I think they did it because they are good people and it tells me a lot about woodland pond that if these people went above and beyond for me, then what are they doing for their residents? I was so blessed that they tried to help me even the front desk people were helpful and let me sit in the lobby while waiting for a tow truck, all worked out in the end I got the car towed to a shop and got some new tires and everything was fixed but I was truly blessed to break down at woodland pond today, thank you to the maintenance team, the groundskeepers the front desk and everyone else that helped Things you can't make up 5 minutes after writing this review I ran into one of the guys that helped me today in the parking lot his name was Mark he even went home to try and find something that would work and big accolades for Jason who stood out there in the 85 heat in a long sleeve shirt and tried to help me also, again if these guys helped a non-resident and a non-family member then how great are they taking care of the people that live h

I am an 89 years old artist and retired University Professor. Normally artists because of their personalities and space needs would not consider living in a Retirement Community. I was reluctant but it has been one of my best choices. It has given myself and my wife a new life, one we never would have had: new friends and much more. And I continue to be productive and more important content. I feel very lucky. Norman Sasowsky

My husband and I moved here 5 years ago, and each morning and evening we are reminded of how lucky we are, as we watch sunsets and sunrises over the Shawangunk mountains. It is a remarkable feeling to feel so supported and cared for, while leading quite an independent life. And it's wonderful to know our children no longer have to worry about our future. Nor do we.

My wife and I moved here about a year ago. We have been thoroughly pleased with WP. As I sit here and look out the windows at a snow storm, and feel warm and cared for, I know we chose the right place for our retirement care. The other residents are friendly and warm...the staff is competent and caring. And we need never worry that we will become a burden to our children as we age. But mostly - It's fun!

Ray and I have had a cottage here since 2011. We can't say enough about the interesting, productive residents, the caring, innovative staff, the extensive range of activities, the all inclusive menu, the physical setting in Mill Brook Preserve and the picture postcard view of Skytop and the Shawangunk Mountains! We are fortunate to have discovered this CCRC.

Grace, my wife, had a stroke in early 2000. i was able to serve as her caregiver at home until I had a heart condition that took me out of business for a six week period. My three children, that lived with their families in Ontario, Canada, Seattle, Washington and Juneau, Alaska ,took turns coming to our home in Pougkeepsie to take care of my wife and me as well. The day after the last one went back to their own home I slipped on black ice and fractured my right arm just below the shoulder. We were not willing to put our kids families back to work for several weeks while my arm healed to where I could once again be a caregiver instead of a care receiver. At that time, April 2007. Woodland Pond was in the long process of planning and building. We signed up and after the facility was opened in September 2009 we moved in two weeks later and have never regretted the decision - nor have our three children. Grace died from other health issues in December 2011 and during the two plus years of her life here she had several hospital visits followed by rehab periods in the Woodland Pond Health Center. The convenience of her rehab being in the same building as our apartment was a big plus for us. After Grace died I realized that had we not moved here and were still living in our Poughkeepsie home, I probably would not have then moved. i'm grateful that i did move and was not left in an empty house. i'm surrounded here by two hundred plus people that are in similar circumstances and are a pleasure to dine and socialize with and the staff is friendly and are more like part of the family than paid workers..

My mom is currently in the skilled nursing unit at Woodland Ponds for rehab services. She suffered a stroke at the end of October and has been at Woodland since January. My family and I are so happy with the rehab services that my mom is receiving. Everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful. The unit is well staffed with RNS, LPNS, and CNAs. The PT/OT/Speech therapists are very professional and knowledgeable. They are always willing to answer any questions at any time. The social worker at Woodland is wonderful at communicating with the family as well as acting as a liaison between the family and the nursing staff. My mother is enjoying the delicious food options there as well! We are so happy that my mother is able to receive rehab services there.

I've worked with some nice people here and some not so nice people. The rehab team we have here is full of some great people who work hard with the family members who come through. The nursing staff works around the clock to ensure the safety and happiness everyone deserves. I'd recommend working here and would recommend family members looking for rehab.
