The Regency is #1 in my book. They recently renovated the lobby and dining room it's cheery and bright. When I walked in i was greeted by the residents in the lobby all wanting to know who was moving in. I met with the SALES DIERCTOR AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR they both were great in making me relaxed and able to deal with my emotions. The Regency is the place i will want to retire in.

Stella manages the Regency and really cares about the residents, and made sure my mother, who can be demanding, was taken care of. This including addressing her needs as her health declined and our family was very appreciative of all the help she received. They also made the transition to an assisted living care facility easy. While the place could use a brightening up (I hear they are renovating), overall, we were happy with the care my mother received.

Having worked at the Regency for the last 3 years (as the OT) I can say that it really is a wonderful place. From the moment you walk through the doors you can see how much the staff really care about the residents and how happy the residents are. There are activities planned daily, there is PT/OT available on site, a memory care unit and a Wellness center. I've heard many horror stories of other assisted living facilities and I assure you that this staff is unlike any other. It truly feels like one big family and and I'm happy to be a part of it.

My mom was in a different assisted living facility run by a well respected chain. It was a horrible experience and the management team was mostly absent. After 3 months we switched to the Regency. What a difference! The entire leadership team was actively involved with the transition making it much more successful. They continue to be extremely available and responsive. My mom has been here in the memory unit for over a year now and we feel very supported and feel she is getting very good care from the meals to the medical care to the daily staff. As someone else said, they are not perfect, no one is, but they do a great job and aim for perfection. I highly recommend the Regency!

Today, my father moved into the Regency. It's been a hard day, weeks, months, and years leading here, but we finally opted with the Regency because of Director Stella Shank, who is warm, funny, loving, professional, and she treats her staff well. Dad made a good transition today, and when the inevitable bumps occur, I feel comforted and relieved that he has Stella and staff. Angelina Stanco helped us get here, and the two are a dynamic duo of love and super powers in redirecting tough situations. I think I will finally be able to breathe a little more freely. It has all the benefits, amenities and activities you could need within all aspects of the facility, while maintaining a feeling of home, community and family. However, what really makes The Regency stand out above the rest is the staff! Everyone here from the management and administrative staff to the wellness department, dining staff, activities people and maintenance & housekeeping staff, make every effort to help with what you need. They go out of their way to know the residents and their families. Further, I have found the management to be very skilled and tactful in managing some of the more difficult issues that can come up between family members and residents, ensuring that everyone's needs are met and adapting where necessary. Additionally, the facility is well maintained, updated and very clean. I feel like my sister is very safe and well taken care of but gets to enjoy her life . Between the great food and all the activities and events, field trips, movie nights, themed parties and games, it seems like she is living life on a cruise ship! Thanks to all.

My 92-year-old mother has been at The Regency since February 2022, and I can finally sleep well, knowing she's in good hands. We moved her from another facility that didn't work out for us. The executive Director, Stella, is A+ and staff is too. They have hard jobs, yet they are always smiling. Everyone has made my mother feel cared for and respected. They play around with her, talk with her, joke with her, and even hug on her, and I never have to worry about her medications or medical care. It's just a very well-run organization made up of a very special group of people who care deeply and love what they do. Despite her challenges with vision loss, loneliness, and dementia, my mom's spirits are better than they have been in a long time, and she often comments on how kind everyone is. My brothers and I are very grateful to Stella and her team.

After a hospital stay for a fall, we were not confident our Mom could live on her own again. So, we learned about The Regency at Glen Cove (internet searches) assisted living where they offered a "Respite" program. You could stay there for a month after a hospitalization or while your caregiver needed a break/vacation. Well, we toured The Regency with Mitch from their Marketing Dept. and immediately put a deposit on a room for Mom. Mom has been there for 2 months due to some health complications, and we can confidently tell you that "what you see is what you get." No deceptions here. Management delivers on their promises. The staff are happy, kind, considerate and caring. When a patient presses their "help pendant", staff locates them and responds. The Wellness staff are amazing. Medications are tracked, distributed and monitored. The nurses know the needs of their many patients. The Director, Stella, is a wonderful manager. She's kind and caring, willing to help families. Amanda the Case Manager for the Regency took care of all the little details for Mom i.e. coordinating her medical equipment deliveries/any special needs. The front desk receptionists always have a smile and take care of whatever you need. The housekeeping staff work so hard and yet have a smile on their faces whenever you see them. The Recreation staff have many activities for the residents - there's BINGO every day! The dining room functions and looks like a restaurant with a great chef! The residents are treated like gold by the wait staff. Lots of birthdays, shows and milestone celebrations for the residents. There's a hair salon on site; a medical doctor comes in weekly to see any residents in need and there's a physical therapy office on site too. The maintenance staff are so kind and caring. Our family visits freely. They have a big, private outdoor patio. It's a wonderful, clean and welcoming facility. Check out The Regency at Glen Cove after you've seen the others that are out there. You'll see what we mean!

I love this place and most importantly Mom loves it too!! Where do I start— firstly it is spotless and I even noticed this afternoon that the hallways have a most pleasant floral smell. Second, the staff—they are excellent. The care staff is warm, friendly, loving and gentle with the residents. They were quick to learn Mom's specific needs and quirks. The medical staff is professional and on top of the residents needs. The administration always gets me prompt answers to any concerns I might have. Then there is the food—-Fresh and tasty — not easy to do when cooking hundreds of meals a day! Mom says she feels like she is eating in a 5-Star restaurant on a daily basis. The residents always have something to do there, movies, ice cream socials, card games, crafts and special events themed along the lines of current events: holidays, the Olympics…… If you are looking for a place for your loved one I highly suggest you visit the Regency, it is a very special place. Vicki Sears arrived in the Regency Glen Cove, on October 17th 2017. From the moment of her arrival she was embraced by Stella Shank and all of her multi disciplinary team with caring, compassion and joy. On arrival, the staff worked to make her feel comfortable and at ease. They helped with her transfer and settling in and making it "her space" by help in bringing in her personal items and her collection of books and paintings that she held dear. It was as she described it, early on in her stay as, "being the good fortune that I have discovered, that is just simply better than everything else". During her stay of six and a half years Vicki enjoyed all the amenities of which there were many, a full monthly schedule of varied topics from movies to discussions and all other types of social entertainment that the Regency have to offer. As a physician and a leader in her own way of the evolution of women in medical practice, (having trained in Switzerland in the fifties), Vicki found lots of compatibility, while interacting with many of the residents that she made friends with, be it at any of the social events as well as the day to day dining experiences that she loved at the Regency. Any time we visited right up until her passing in early August of this year, irrespective of the hour of the day or night, every person we met, went that extra mile and had time for us and for Vicki. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting down and enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with Vicki this past November. Stella and all the Staff, are professional, caring and compassionate and it was not just evident when dealing with Vicki and ourselves, but also their interactions with all the other residents alike… All on a first named basis, all being treated like Royalty and made feel important and loving, caring and belonging in what they called 'HOME'. Questions whenever we had any, were always answered thoroughly and everything was approached with a sensitivity and attitude of a loving family. There are not enough words of appreciation and thankfulness, that we can express to Stella, the Chef and the staff for gracing Vicki, with some of the happiest and most content years of her retired life, for this we are forever grateful. Please use these our words as a testimonial of recommendation to any person seeking a 'Didean' in their life. 'Didean' when translated from the Irish language means 'A house of refuge or a place of rest' May you all at The Regency Glen Cove, continue to be blessed and rewarded for your vocation. I have family residing at The Regency. Every time we get together I hear so much appreciation and gratitude for everything The Regency does to provide care! The food is delicious. I receive daily updates of meals… it seems dinner meals are always different! …I'm including a little sampling of recent pictures! All the people we encounter from the front desk, the health office, the dining room, maintenance, the people working throughout the building and administrators are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and clearly go out of their way to know each of the residents. The residents are clearly top priority for all. Any time questions or concerns have come up, they have gone above and beyond to address all needs. As our loved ones enter into stages of needing more care, it can be very difficult for the individual to accept this help. We have found The Regency to be very understanding, supportive, compassionate and helpful through these adjustments, always demonstrating respect. My family is so lucky to have found The Regency at Glen Cove. The great experience starts with Stella, the Director at The Regency. She takes her job to heart, and I can feel that it is her mission to take care of people. From the first interview through all the interactions we have with her, she stays in touch and make sure that everyone gets their needs met. Not only are my parents well taken care of but it is obvious that the staff is also well taken care of. Everyone who works at The Regency is friendly, enthusiastic and creates an inclusive environment where everyone feels at home. It is a big transition moving into assisted living, and my mom ended up feeling "popular" from all the loving attention she received from the staff. The staff is also attentive to all the needs that one might have. My parents are well taken care of. Not only am I impressed with the physical premises and the food, but the activities are incredible. They have live entertainment, a movie theater with great movies, exercise class, baking class, etc. We recently had to move my mom up to memory care called Safe Harbor led by Erica, who is also very special. Again, the staff are incredibly attentive. What I am most impressed with is the amount of creative activities they do with the residents. Everybody is organized throughout the day. After breakfast, there are one or two activities that could include a dance party, playing music with all the instruments they take out, playing with a parachute, chair exercise class daily, entertainment that includes live entertainment, etc. There are two beautiful common spaces to have downtime, one inside and one outside. The outside space is a beautiful garden. It really is amazing what they have created. The staff continues to take really good care of the residents. Everyone's needs are attended to, including what they like to eat at meals. The more we hang out at The Regency, the more we love them!

Stella Shank is lovely, and really cares about and gets to know each and every resident. She explained everything to us clearly and helped us make this big transition smoothly. The facility is clean, the food is excellent, the staff is caring and there was always lots of fun activities for the residents. Every holiday / birthday was celebrated, and they often had parties on random days just for fun! My mom recently passed away and had lived at The Regency for 3 years. From Stella Shank, the Executive Director, to the frontline staff everyone is compassionate, capable and caring. Stella has been there her entire career, almost 30 years and calls The Regency "a family." There are many activities and social functions and good food. Mom eventually needed full time aides, and while the aides are not their employees, The Regency easily refers families to vetted aides who have worked with residents for many years. Mom had a lovely one bedroom apartment and was on hospice for longer than was typical. I was told multiple times by hospice staff how lucky we were that Mom was at The Regency rather than another assisted living place in Long Island. The hospice nurse told me several times Mom was still alive only because of the high quality care she got from her aide and The Regency staff. That's very high praise in my book. Who would know better and have a more informed opinion than hospice care staff?

I am a medical student currently and went to Regency to do a painting class with residents. I was beyond impressed with how happy the residents were, how they were out of their rooms with friends nearby and supervised by staff who clearly cared about them. I took care of my father before he passed away and when it became time to look for a place that could help meet his increasing needs (he had Alzheimer's and Dementia), I wish we had been in NY and nearby Regency. I've seen first hand how bad a lot of assisted living communities are and the abuse that residents face. It was immediately clear to me that this is not the case at Regency. It made my heart so full to see how much staff care about the residents, as well as how nice and comfortable the facility is in general. So much love to this facility. You showed me that places like this can and do exist. Thank you for all you do! My dad would have been so happy there.

After several years of gently trying to convince our elderly father to move away from Long Island and be in closer proximity to me (in the South) or my sibling (out west), we found what has turned out to be the perfect solution: The Regency at Glen Cove. Dad's requirements were fairly straightforward: Stay near the water, and near his social circle. We toured The Regency in January 2023 to but it was another year before he became a resident. Dad has been there just three months and in that time he has been treated with dignity, respect, humility and compassion. His dementia, only diagnosed earlier this year, is further along than than anyone realized and living independently was no longer an option. The Regency offered sizable, comfortable studio and 1-bedroom apartments in a warm, welcoming and friendly environment that feels more like a community than a facility. He is making new friends, taking part in activities and field trips - they went to the Mets game this week! - and enjoys the variety of in-house events offered on a near-daily basis. The food is restaurant quality as is the service; his apartment is bright and spacious, the common areas for residents are clean, comfortable, unpretentious and inviting. What makes this community so special? The staff. Housekeeping, maintenance, food services, behind-the-scenes offices to the front desk, everyone is sunny and upbeat, approachable and above all professional. In moments of his confusion or frustration, he is treated with dignity and compassion, and the greatest of care and active listening. The thought of "leaving" our father's care in the hands of someone else did not sit well with me or my sibling. In the end, respecting his wishes to stay as close to home as he could, The Regency has quickly become a familiar environment; he feels safe, experiences new things and interests, and has an excellent quality of life. Moving him to The Regency was the right choice for our family, and for our Dad.

Both my mother and sister are residents of The Regency for the past few years. It's got a warm, homey feeling which is so nice. Mom always says it's a cheerful place. My sister enjoys socializing in the living room area with staff and other residents. There is always someone to talk to. I like it because I know my loved ones are safe and in good hands. All staff are very friendly, know each resident really well, and are willing to assist in any capacity. The Director, Stella, runs The Regency as if it's one big family! Her glass front office is right in the middle of the action so she knows what's going on and her door is always open to any resident who wants to walk in with a question, comment, or just talk. The fact that Stella has been there for decades and worked her way up through the ranks, makes The Regency that much more special.

During this most difficult time and having had some really unfortunate experiences, I want to express how grateful we are to the Regency and all of the wonderful people working there. The care we have received as a family has been beyond expectations. We had all but given up. Dementia made it a 1000 times harder to find a place with the compassion needed for proper care. My mother joined the Regency Community 2 years ago and it is the most wonderful place considering the depth of the progression her dementia. She lives in Safe Harbor (their dementia care unit) where she is beautifully cared for and safe! They host stimulating activities daily and she socializes with in the community there. The Regency at Glen Cove provides an excellent level of assisted living care and engagement for my father-in-law who can no longer live on his own. It's a beautiful, well-maintained facility with very friendly and accessible staff and a vibrant senior resident community of 160. And it's affordable with more services than other more expensive places in the area. The Regency's enhanced care license is unique and very helpful to us my as father-in-law's needs have increased. The best part of The Regency is its "heart." People who need assistance can continue to experience autonomy, privacy, positive interaction with peers, good food, and social stimulation in a safe, friendly, and caring community.

I chose The Regency at Glen Cove for my father after the smaller assisted living residence where he had been living could not readmit him following an extended hospital stay and rehab. The Regency is exactly the right size - small enough to feel welcoming and personal, and large enough to have wellness, recreation, and nurse resources on site. In addition there's the restaurant, movie theater, lounge, activity centers, library, and more. The people are wonderful, attentive, and caring. The staff are easy to reach and always helpful. We moved my mother into The Regency a little over two years ago and it was the best move we ever made for mom. She is very well cared for and the staff is lovely. My entire family loves to visit and Mom is very happy!! I can not say enough nice things. It has been a wonderful experience.

My mother has been at the Regency for the past 15 months after transferring from being at a nearby Assisted Living which was a major disappointment.That decision is one of the best that i have made !The Regency is such a warm and caring environment with such energy and a good vibe, it's filled with workers who care about the residents and go above and beyond the expected . Since my initial consultation with Executive Director Stella Shank who does what she says and lives by it( other Facilities exaggerate and don't)the Regency has been a joy to behold ! It's a great home to my mother with wonderful people that I trust with her care !!

The Regency has been an incredible resource for our family. We started with both our parents moving in and the transition was very smooth. The staff genuinely cared for them and appreciated how difficult it was to make this kind of a life change. They helped us navigate a complicated medical situation for our Dad. When he passed recently, we were so impressed with how much support the staff gave to our mom. We could not be happier with how our well she has adjusted to life after his passing. She truly feels safe and cared for at The Regency. We cannot thank the staff at the Regency enough for the relief it brings us to hear how she is engaging and connecting like never before. This is a special place.

This is a special acknowledgement and thank you for the outstanding performance of The Regency staff. It is always a pleasure to pop in at any time of the day or day of week and to find the entrance, lobby, dining room, hallways, etc clean, nicely decorated and in general in 5 hotel quality condition. I often visit during meal times and I'm always impressed at the meal choices and restaurant quality plating and service. Selected desserts arrive after the resident finishes their meal and plate cleared. Even though there are many who need wheelchair assistance, residents aren't rushed. Whether I'm visiting in the lobby, library, card room, front entrance or during an activity, staff (all titles) are attentive to the residents and are friendly to visitors as well. The program activities are varied, and judging from the number of participants I've observed, very appealing. They are not just paper and white board plans to impress a surveyor (or family members) but actually occur as scheduled. BRAVO! The other night I stopped by later than usual (around 7 pm). Given the number of residents, it amazes me that the front desk staff usually know where my aunt is. While I doubt it's their responsibility, l it speaks to how attentive all staff are. That night I was told that my aunt went back to her room early. When I entered my aunt's room, Doreatha and other staff were about to leave my aunt's apartment. She was neatly and cleanly tucked in (as snug as a bug in a rug) and in good spirits. The TV was on for her evening entertainment.. Another BRAVO! As a retired nurse and administrator I know it's impossible to please everyone all the time but from my experience, it seems The Regency comes pretty darn close.

My 90-year old mother has been at The Regency since February 2022 and the experience has been fantastic. They truly take a person-centered, heart felt approach to care. Prior to moving my mother into The Regency, she was in a Continuous Care facility in Port Washington, spent a few years in Independent Living and then Assisted Living. We had to move her out of the CCRE because they couldn't provide the care my mother needed. They appeared more focused on their business than they did on my mother's well being. Moving her was the last thing we wanted to do, but it had to happen. Knowing how hard these moves are on her, we did a lot of due diligence before this last move. We looked at 7 assisted living facilities between NY and LI and couldn't be happier with our decision to move her to The Regency. There is always music playing, and I've never seen a place where the staff smiles as much as these folks do. And they have worked with us to address all of my mother's specific needs. They even brought a spare bed up to her apartment when I wanted to stay for a few days at the start to help ease my mother into her new home. My mom's life isn't great between partial vision loss, loneliness, and some dementia, but her spirits are better than they have been in a long time! She feels well taken care of, and continually comments on how nice everyone is. My brothers and I are very thankful for Stella and her whole team.

The Regency Assisted Living has been a part of my entire life as my Mom has worked there for over 25 years. I see how the staff treats the residents-with kindness and compassion. The residents are treated like family by the staff. The community is full of heart and you feel the warmth as soon as you walk in. The activities are fun, too- check out their Facebook page. You would think my mother would want to stay in the state where they are known for their seniors, assisted-living, and nursing homes… Florida! But no... she wanted to go to her old stomping grounds on Long Island. Sure enough, I was able to find the Regency in Glencove. From the moment we walked in, I knew it was going to be the best living environment for her. From the tour, the recreational activities, to the care, living conditions, and people that work there, I have no problem leaving my mother 1200 miles away to her new place called home and I thank you.

This newly remodeled luxurious facility is absolutely beautiful and the have such a warm and caring staff. They seem to have such patience for the residents and treat them as if they were their own grandparents. It’s very touching to watch the interaction between the aids and the residents. You can see how much they care just by the look in their eyes and faces. There is no shortage of activities there-7 days a week something is always going on and something for everyone. What better place to be than on the North Shore Gold Coast of Long Island

Was not expecting me, perhaps mixed communication. Big facility. Like that they are putting money into facility. Although converted from a hotel/ apartment did not get the feeling of such. Hopefully wor will be completed soon. Like that are adding dementia unit for transition from AL if necessary. Competively priced.

My parents have been here for about a little over a month and they enjoy it here. The staff is very friendly and the community is clean. I really feel like we are getting our money's worth. We are very please with the care that is being provided to my parents.
