My Aunt moved in several months ago and it required ALOT of moving parts to be coordinated. The Director Melissa was absolutely amazing in helping to facilitate all of this. In the time since moving in my Aunt has transitioned very well thanks to the excellent staff at Yorktown. The aides, nurses, and other staff have made her feel welcome and have provided great care. I am extremely happy we chose Yorktown.

After a few years in Assisted Living in upstate NY, my cousin's dementia worsened and we were told that she needed Memory Care, which they did not have at her facility. I began looking at Facilities with Memory Care Units In Westchester County and stumbled upon Yorktown Assisted Living. The moment I walked in, I felt a warm vibe and was impressed with the energy and involvement of the staff with the Residents. Melissa and Sandra helped get my cousin transferred quickly and Helped cut through the onerous paperwork required in New York State. They were a tremendous help. I had great support while going through a difficult process. Upon her arrival in Yorktown, my cousin was warmly welcomed and Adjusted to Memory Care with the help of a very hands-on Staff Who keep everything running smoothly and make a difficult operation look easy. Everyone is very attentive to the residents and my cousin participates in a nice variety of activities daily. The food is very good and she looks forward to meals. Yorktown Assisted Living is not as fancy as some of the big chain Assisted Living Facilities, but it is immaculately clean and the Staff is genuine and caring. Now that Spring has arrived, I am Very appreciative of the lovely enclosed garden in Memory Care Unit. I highly recommend Yorktown Assisted Living

It's not easy deciding on placing your mother into an assisted living facility. After researching many assisted living facilities, there's one that definitely caught my eye, Yorktown Assisted Living Residence in Cortlandt, NY. I called and spoke to Melissa and she set me up with a tour of the facility. It definitely was appealing to the eye but more importantly I wanted to know about the care they offered. Melissa was thorough in answering all of my questions but what stood out was seeing the residents and the staff interact with each other. The staff was courteous to the residents, patient and respectful to them. I asked a few of the residents how they liked living there and they all had positive comments! Mom has now been living there for a month. She has become more social than ever before and especially likes BINGO! The nurses there are making sure mom is as healthy as she can be and very nurturing to her. Mom is well taken care of and says how everyone is so nice to her! Knowing all of this makes me sleep well at night for sure! Highly recommend Yorktown Assisted Living Residence! UPDATE: It's been 1 year since mom arrived at YALR and it's still the BEST! All the staff are so kind and caring to my mother. All of them! The activities they have are lively and entertaining to all the residents! They continue to do a great job! Highly recommend!! UPDATE: After 2 1/2 years at YALR mom passed away Xmas morning 2023. If mom couldn't be with us when she passed away, we are so thankful she was with her YALR family at her passing. The level of care received by my mom during her stay there has exceeded any job title or pay grade! Words cannot express the gratitude our family has for YALR and all of their staff. Mom truly lived her best life there and we will forever be grateful to them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YALR in Cortlandt, NY!

Our mom has been living at YALR for just about one year and we are thrilled with the services and community she now calls home. Her apartment is spacious, bright and always clean. She has the independence of living alone, along with staff who are caring, thorough and friendly and take care of all of mom's needs. We are thankful that there are nursing staff in the building and like the Dr. who monitors the residents. YALR has activities for everyone and a great car service that takes people to doc appointments, shopping and out to eat. The food is good and the lobby lovely and inviting. We were very lucky when there was a spot open for mom. She has made friends, has friends come visit and is lucky to be close to our family. Thank you YALR.

We highly recommend Yorktown Assisted Living Residence. They have been wonderful for our family as our Mom needed to transition from independent living. Initially, Mom needed to move to Assisted Living. Throughout that process the team at YALR was extremely supportive and helped guide us through the process. Unfortunately shortly after Mom moved into Assisted Living she needed to be moved to Memory Care. Once again everyone at YALR did everything they could to help us through the process. Today Mom lives in the Memory Care unit and is kept active, well fed, entertained and extremely well cared for. Everyday the team at YALR helps Mom get dressed, takes care of her personal needs, makes sure she is happy and comfortable...and even makes her bed. In addition to the wonderful staff, the facility itself is wonderful too. It is modern, spacious, clean and well appointed. As tough as it is to know that our Mom needs an environment like this, we can't think of a better place for her to be. Our Thanks go out to the entire staff at Yorktown Assisted Living Residence!

I have had the pleasure of working at Yorktown Assisted Living for the past year. I get to see the smiling faces on all of the residents. There’s a wide variety of wonderful activities offered here. The aides and nurses work hard and are very caring. I highly recommend this community for anyone looking for a warm and homey environment for yourself or your loved one.

I usually don't rave about anything as much, if and when I write a review. However, if something is worth it and it will help someone else, I do it. In short, I had to help a neighbor in our condo development to get help as soon as possible. He is an 88 year old senior with no family and whose dementia had worsened to the point that he couldn't drive anymore, take care of his mail, purchase or cook food or even take care of himself. Without the help of Melissa Holden, Director of Resident Relations, a TRUE SAINT, I couldn't have gotten him the help he needed and he would have died in his home completely unnoticed! Her patience, caring, knowledge, courtesy and respect, assisted me and guided me through a complex situation. I was already aware of the Assisted Living Residence and its sterling reputation through friends and neighbors in the community. We are lucky to have such a gem of a place for the people we care about whom we must find assistance for at such a difficult time. THANK YOU Melissa and all the wonderful staff at Yorktown Assisted Living!

It was a very heartbreaking and difficult decision to make. From the tour and staff helping me with the paperwork, to the setting up of his room, the compassion and expertise of Yorktown Assisted Living is exceptional. The place is visually attractive. I especially like the 2 courtyards and the fireplace area. I have never seen any area dirty or messy. They have activities throughout the day. The staff is very attentive and caring. My friends and family that have visited him, tell me how impressed they are with Yorktown Assisted Living. Especially the professionalism of the staff. It is a great comfort to me to know that I made the right choice placing my husband in their care.

As a resident of Yorktown Assisted Living, I recommend having a loved one live here. We are encouraged to be as independent as possible but have an excellent staff who assist with any of our needs or concerns and remind us that they work in our home and many state that they are honored to do so. The activity staff is outstanding and work tirelessly. We have entertainment, veteran and religious services and activities way beyond Bingo. There is a resident council where we can participate to help address our concerns with the staff and each other. We also do activities of sevice, such as making cookies for our local heroes. I believe that I am the youngest resident here. My apartment is mine, with my own decor and personality, without me having to worry about being alone or cooking and cleaning for myself. The food is delicious and the kitchen staff try to accomodate our tastes.One resident requested polenta, we got delicious rosemary polenta. Another asked for a lighter summer fare, we got an incredible gazpacho. Every one here really does try to please us and there is an overall very good rapport between all staff, from administration to housekeeping. I hope I am giving a good general impression of YAL and would recommend having a loved one live here.

I am beyond grateful for the warm welcome and smooth transition for my mom, into Yorktown Assisted Living Residence. The director and staff helped mom feel right at home and were able to assist with her medical needs. My mom is a very new resident and has made several friends already. She loves her new friends and has already participated in activities. I cannot express in words how grateful I/we are that she is happy and in good hands. It couldn't be a better fit !!!

My father moved in during the pandemic and has been so well taken care, both emotionally and physically, by everyone from the social workers to the kitchen staff, the receptionist and especially the AMAZING nursing staff. Both he and I both feel extremely lucky we landed at Yorktown Assisted living as his new home.

Yorktown Assisted Living in Cortlandt Manor, New York is a very special residence and I am so lucky to be one of its residents. The staff is so caring, loving and most important, professionally qualified. The apartments are luxurious with kitchenettes and offer medication management and laundry and daily housekeeping services. The food is restaurant quality -- totally fabulous. Their activities are too numerous to list but include Bingo, Wii bowling, lectures, documentaries, art and crafts and outings. The phrase "five star" is used a lot but Yorktown Assisted Living has certainly earned their awards.

My mom has been blessed by residing at The Yorktown Assisted Living Residence. She arrived during Covid-19 a year ago and everyone residing and staff have been cared for to the best of their abilities. Once you walk through the door it feels warm and friendly. The staff from the top down in every department are friendly but most of all caring. Mom has made friends and enjoys the activities presented to them. The kitchen is great cooking for the needs of all residents. Most of all mom is happy living her life in the comfort in her new home. I just Cannot say enough of high praises but do know I would tell any family member or friend if they need a place for mom or dad don’t hesitate.

My sister was a resident of Yorktown Assisted Living Memory Care Unit for several months during the Covid pandemic. I was concerned about her going to an assisted living facility but quickly learned Yorktown Assisted Living was the best place for her. I could not have been more pleased with the personal attention my sister was given by the case, social worker Melissa Holden. Melissa was always there to advocate for my sister, address any issues and always kept us in the loop. She was a godsend, our lifeline! Gena Mathew was the person who sat at the front desk and answered the phone. She too went above and beyond on numerous occasions. It was difficult at times contacting my sister and Gena always came to the rescue, she was so sweet and caring. Eventually my sister required skilled nursing care and had to leave YAL. Melissa continued to check in to see how Sandie and the family were doing. After hearing my sister passed away, much to our surprise, YAL sent us beautiful flowers...to say we were blown away is an understatement. I can only say thank you to Melissa Holden for making my sister feel loved and giving our family that much needed connection and TLC. It was very difficult not being able to visit my sister but the Activities director, Margaret Stanton arranged for us to stay in touch via weekly FaceTime calls, that was priceless! We have had the pleasure of partnering with Yorktown Assisted Living Residence for about a year now. We have worked directly with Amanda the Administrator, Nelly the DON, Melissa the Social Worker and Gena in Human Resources to ensure when there is a need they are adequately staffed!! The team over a YALR is amazing they are professional and responsive. My staff love working there and when they have availability Yorktown Assisted Living is a favorite. All the staff there are helpful and a pleasure to work with! Your facility is such a welcoming and well kept environment filled with staff that care and work hard to support the residence and each other! We are very grateful to be apart of such a Quality Team!! My Mother has been a resident in the Memory Care Unit for 3 years and the care she has received is excellent. The staff is super friendly and always accommodating to her every need. The facility is clean and safe and welcoming to my family always. They communicate well with families and their care and protocol during the COVID epidemic has been exemplary keeping everyone as safe as possible and following all state guidelines and requirements. When I was looking for a memory care residence for my oldest brother 18 months ago I visited several places. Yorktown Assisted Living was my top choice by far. What struck me then and is true now is how good it feels to be there. The place is always spotlessly clean, the administration is responsive and understanding, and my brother feels safe there. He is happy, he is cared for and he is cared about. There is a feeling of joy you sense as soon as you enter the front door.

YAL is a wonderful place . There have been some changes but staff have listened to residents and families in order to make it a great place . My parents call it home and have had many wonderful celebrations there. The current staff go beyond the standard of care in sharing, caring and loving.

Anyone who has a loved one with dementia knows how difficult it is to make decisions for them that they dont understand. Add in Covid, and the wall it put up, made our loved ones feel isolated but I know in a way was worse for us. We all wonder how they are doing. Are they smiling, laughing, angry or just tired. I know I do. I moved my mom to Yorktown Assisted Living Residence beginning of 2020. The transition was unlike any I had ever experienced (and mom and I have been through a few). They were professional and understanding of her needs AND my needs. Covid raised the bar and they kept on raising their response. Open lines of communication, zoom calls... whatever it took to make all of us comfortable. I was always able able to get in touch with the staff just to know see was ok. I look forward to a post-Covid world when I can sit in the beautiful outside garden with my mom and thank all the staff for what they did for both of us. Jim

I researched a number of facilities with memory care units, and selected Yorktown Assisted Living. I moved my wife into the memory care unit about a year ago. Every time I visit, either in person or virtually through a video chat, she looks good and is happy, The staff does an excellent job taking care of her, understanding her specific needs and finding activities she enjoys. The management team does a wonderful job communicating, and responds to my e-mails very timely, usually within just a few hours.

The Yorktown Assisted Living Residence is a wonderful community. The nursing staff and healthcare aides are very compassionate. There is always something to do from morning until night for the residents that are interested in participating. There are many days that I call my Aunt and shes not in her apartment because she is playing bingo, watching a movie, or downstairs listening to music. My Aunt once said I have no complaints. The only problem is that I dont read like I used to because theres always something to do. Not a bad problem to have in my opinion.

I recently took on the role as The Recreation Director and I have to say its a great place to work. Yorktown Assisted Living cares about their residents and providing person centered care.
