My grandfather recently moved in to the The Legacy at Santa Fe. I worked with Ruben and the team to get grandpa moved in as quickly as possible after a stay in the hospital. The team at the Legacy moved up his move in date to accommodate his hospital release. Ruben and his staff helped put all of Grandpa's furniture together and loaned us items that we needed until we were able to purchase them. We all met together to go over Grandpa's care plan so that we could decide on a placement that allowed Grandpa the most autonomy and also kept him safe and cared for. I love the staff at The Legacy! They are caring and treat the residents with respect. The residents have a large menu of programs to choose from during the week. This week I was able to join Grandpa at a concert in the music room where we sang along to familiar songs. They went on an outing and had lunch and ice cream the following day. I was waiting for grandpa to return, and it was so joyous to see him practically run through the door with such joy after his outing. The concierge, Jules is wonderful and so patient in answering all of our questions. Sonia, grandpa's nurse is very knowledgeable and empathetic. The food is wonderful, and the chef offers options if the residents want a different item. Grandpa loves the food so much they've started offering double portions! We are so grateful to the caring staff at The Legacy. I think I might move in myself 🙂

Making the decision to place a loved one in an assisted living or a memory care facility is more difficult than you can imagine particularly if it comes on the heels of loss. My father died three months ago and it became clear that we needed more help for my mother than my sisters and I could provide. Sometimes, love is not enough. As much as you know it is the right thing to do, the decicion comes with its own grief. That's where a facility's philosophy is so important. As we worked through our decision, we were told that everyone was availble to us as well as mom to help us through the transiition, and it is true. Janet was my original contact and she has been instrumental in helping my mom adjust to her new circumstances. The first time we took mom on a tour, I saw Ruben kneel next to her wheelchair so that he was eye level with her. He was so kind and gentle with her and with us. Tohnia has sat with me more than once to console me and reassure me. Tony joked and put my mom at ease teaching her to use her safety alert and he told her he would work with her until she felt comfortable. Each of them has sat with mom one on one at various times to reassure her that she is welcome and appreciated. When I was struggling, another resident's daughter reached out to me to ease my mind that I was doing the right thing for my mother. That to me is going over and above and confirms my sisters and I chose the right place. It felt right the first time we walked in and I still feel that way. After many years of not playing the piano, my mom plays fairly regularly now. I don't know everyone's name but a few standouts have been Gretchen and Shawna (sp?) at the front desk, Amber who helps mom and is so kind and patient with her, Jasmine who engages mom in the activities and sits with her and helps her so she can participate. Pam, the nurse at Legacy is a special woman. During her assessment of mom, she recognized that mom was tired and it was affecting her and Pam stopped the test and was gracious so mom did not feel bad. She has checked on mom and worked with mom's pcp to make sure mom is recieving the care she needs. The Legacy advertizes activities, and they deliver. I have seen them and participated in a few myself. They also have outings weekly. Most recently residents were given the option to go to the Georgia O'Keefe museum. Next week they have a zoo outing. They took residents to the Van Gogh immersive in Albuquerque. Fun things like going out for a burger or ice cream are other outings. This is not an easy job and it takes a special kind of person to be successful at it. If it appears that their is a high turnover as some reviewers claim, I don't think they took into consideration that some people leave for reasons that have nothing to do with management. I don't know why. people assume the worst. If, however, management is weeding out employees who don't fit, I am all for that. I am glad my mom's care and safety are the primary concern. We are grateful to each and every person at Legacy who has touch mom's life and in turn ours. This is a hard journey to be on and I could not ask for better support.

My father has been here for a couple months now (summer 2022) based on a local doctor's recommendation, and everything has been excellent. Very good attention to medical issues; a drive towards keeping residents engaged and socialized; transparent communication with family members; and a nice physical setting with high ceilings. Really good and flexible nutrition with tasty meals. Overall well above expectations here -- a big thank you to the crew at Legacy at Santa Fe.

Once we knew we needed help with caring for our Mom, my sisters and I visited many facilities before we made our decision. We were immediately drawn to the Legacy. The minute we walked in, I got a good feeling. It is modern, clean, and offers many activities to keep the residents engaged in life. All the staff we have interacted with so far have been compassionate and professional. Mom is a new resident, but we know we have made the right decision for her because she is safe, well cared for, and everyone that helps her has gone above and beyond to make her feel at home here. I feel like the people my Mom sees everyday truly care about her, and that helps give me peace that we made the right decision. Thank you Legacy Staff for supporting Mom and our whole family with patience and kindness as she transitions into assisted living.

Our search for the right assisted living place in Santa Fe covered all the options from reputed old town locations to established communities near town. Once we began talking with the folks at The Legacy Santa Fe we knew we had found the right place, and equally important, the right people. Of the eight places I contacted, the staff at The Legacy at Santa Fe were the most genuine, attentive, patient, and helpful. All the staff members I have met have been wonderful, and my mother who lives there continues to praise them. Ruben, Diana, Debra, Maria, Tony and many more have made this transition so seamless and natural for my mother and sister and me. During the COVID crisis with all the logistical difficulties it has imposed upon us, they went above and beyond to get my mother situated (since my sister and I could not go inside). Ruben, with Tonys assistance (and great sense of humor) moved my mothers furnishings and artwork and personal effects into her apartment, and unpacked for her and hung the paintings! They even procured some extra furniture on site to make my mothers apartment feel more cozy and personalized! I LOVE these guys! And the place itself merits a glowing review. Situated in the characteristic Aldea neighborhood with 360 degree views of mountains and hills you can still be at the Plaza in just 10 minutes. The building is relatively new, has many high tech features that make daily life there easy, and the styling is upbeat and very Santa Fe. The amenities are top notch and I understand the food is exquisite. I want to move there! Maybe one day I will! Lastly, so as not to gush, they offer promotions and reasonable fees, making it the best choice in the area, based on my extensive research.

My mother was recently moved to the memory unit at the Legacy Santa Fe. It was a difficult choice for us but we quickly felt the supportive nature of the group at the Legacy. Ruben was instrumental in helping us through what might have been a traumatic experience. The care my mom is now surrounded by is so much better than we could have done. The place is beautiful and everything is clean and nice. We have experienced nothing but professionals and truly caring staff. Special thanks to Ruben Vasquez , youre an angel. My brother is living in The Legacus Memory Care. I live on the East Coast, so communicating with Staff is very important to me. Ruben Vasquez, the Director of Community Affairs is a wonder. He is truly concerned about The Legacys residents and answers the familys questions fully and in a timely fashion. I believe my brother is being very well cared for.

During the research phase for my dad, who is nearing 80, Ruben was available to answer the million questions I had with patience and kindness. I am so impressed with his availability and the facility itself. The location is amazing with gorgeous views of the Sangre de Christo mountains. The Legacy has the warmth of home with all the luxury of a five star hotel.

The employees and Diana, the Director are extremely responsive, and have such a caring attitude. My loved one moved from another home in Santa Fe to the Legacy at Santa Fe, since moving to the Legacy at Santa Fe she has received excellent care. The meals are tasty and she has been able to get her health back. During these trying COVID Times, the staff has gone out of their way to insure that her Family and many friends have been able to visit and speak to her on the telephone. They make sure that the visits go nicely. I cannot say enough about the staff and their friendly nature. I have never called and been made feel like I am bothering them or that they are to busy to assist me. This is such welcome change from her last home. !! I just cannot say ENOUGH POSITIVE things about the Cleanliness, Happy, Helpful Environment that we have found at the Legacy of Santa Fe. I live out of State and so all of this is REALLY IMPORTANT to me. I finally have peace of MIND when I leave Santa Fe, knowing that my loved one is in GREAT HANDS!!!!! I highly recommend The Legacy at Santa Fe, for anyone who needs to know that their loved one will get QUALITY CARE>>>>>

Legacy at Santa Fe is HIGHLY recommended! The staff is very attentive, helpful, and caring when it comes to the care of the residents. The management team goes above and beyond to make sure it feels like home. It is VERY clean and smells GREAT all throughout the community. I am a nurse and have been to many communities, but this place for sure stands out just from the time I walk in all the way until I leave the community. During the Pandemic it is very difficult and you want to make sure your loved one is in a safe environment and this is the place you want them to be. While practicing social distancing for now, soon to follow will be things the residents can continue to enjoy with several activities daily, movie theater, mini golf course, sports lounge, CHEF on site cooking amazing meals, etc. The food is delicious, no complaints there. If you have not checked this place out please do, you will not be disappointed!

I highly recommend the Legacy of Santa Fe to all who ask--this is a wonderful caring community, and I could not have chosen a better, more loving environment for my mom, who suffered from dementia. The staff could not have been sweeter and more helpful to her and to me, and the environment is so pretty, clean, happy and nurturing. And the food is delicious! Originally I moved mom into one of the larger apartments on the second floor, but when she declined rapidly, we moved her to Connections, the memory care unit. She was happy, loved and very well cared for until the end, and I was treated with such kindness on all of my daily visits and throughout the transitions we made. If you are in need of assisted living or memory care for yourself or a loved one and you want to find a beautiful, friendly, family-oriented environment, the Legacy of Santa Fe should be at the top of your list.

My Dad is a resident at The Legacy since March, 2019. Our family would highly recommend this facility. The employees and Diane, the director are extremely responsive, and have such a caring attitude. They feel like family when we interact. Molly, their nurse will give me updates, made several extra trips to make sure Dad had a special med, found a doctor who could visit at the facility, and have graciously taken him on a regular lab appointment he needs. Ramona, activities person has engaged him building models, offered to help with a though the window COVID meeting too. Maria handles my calls and tracks, or messages whoever I need, and Aaron very sweetly and kindly manages some day to day grooming, etc. Great people!

My wife Mary Adams was one of the first to join Legacy 3, 1, 18. There have been changes in upper management, but for the better. Mary has received excellent care and this still is in place of choice for Mary. By the way, she is in Memory Loss section of Legacy. Update: In March 2018, I placed my wife at the Legacy. She had been diagnosed earlier with dementia and her declining ability to function and escalating behavior made it impossible to continue caring for her. Initially, I was very impressed, however, as the months went by I became increasingly concerned at the lack of communication and frequent turnover of staff. Often on weekends, staffing was severally limited and the concierge was not staffed. Maintenance staff was constantly changing and it took almost three months to get Marys T.V. hooked up. I was told by staff that Mary was a wonderful resident, except when it came to shower time. She would become extremely aggressive and it took three staff members to handle her. On occasion, they brought the maintenance man into her shower to control her. I was horrified when I heard this. At her new facility, staff explains to Mary why she needs to shower and she cooperates happily. Also, I was in the complete dark as to what medications, therapy and nursing care she was receiving. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the CDC mandated facilities to notify patient representatives within 12 hours of the occurrence of a single confirmed infection of COVID-19. I only became aware via the internet of cases at the Legacy. I immediately called the Legacy and after what seemed to me to be denial, was told that two employees who worked and lived together had COVID-19 At her new facility she is thriving. The have a petting zoo, aquarium and birds. Experts in Memory Care state that gardens and animals are an important aspect of memory care as patients react positively to environmental factors.

The Legacy at Santa Fe is a exceptional community filled with love and compassion. As the Executive Director it gives me great pride to see the incredible care team, the support team and leadership team provide the utmost quality and compassionate care to all of our residents and their families. I have been in healthcare for over 35 years and being part of assisted living brings a whole new meaning to compassionate care. Our residents dont just rent space, they fill our hearts with joy, love and laughter each and every day. We share fun times, great stories and even tears. There is not a day that goes by that I dont hear someone pay a compliment to either one of the staff, or the staff to each other. We all have great respect for each other, and for our home office team in Houston. I invite anyone to come and visit, enjoy a meal prepared by the greatest Executive Chef in Santa Fe. You will always be welcome!
