As soon as you walk in, you are hit with a strong smell of urine. Walking down the hallways it’s a thick aroma of urine.. there was a lady mopping, but it smelt like they mopped the whole facility with that same bucket of urine water daily. My heart felt so bad for the residence here. My family member told me that there are some good nurses and some not so good

The Dr was amazing, she truly cares for her patients. She is patient and hears your concerns. She has done everything to try to help me. Its been frustrating adjusting and she has done everything to help me and cares. its very rare to find Dr's like that. Thank you.

I'm currently a patient at Genesis Rio Rancho. The place needs more staff! At night you can wait up to 20 min. for a call light response! I need help in the restroom & sometimes get body language that suggests they don't want to help! At meal time I've waited 30 min. for help in the restroom! I have unique groin wounds and really do need help until they heal!! There are really Good staff members, but they obviously Need more Help!!!They also miss my required daily wound care once in awhile due to insufficient staffing!! It's April 2026, my Mom is there now. They never answer the phone, especially on weekends and when you do Finally get through they are sometimes anything but Friendly!! I Hate this place!!!!!

I am surprisingly impressed with this facility. I find it clean and pleasant to visit. I'm impressed with the competence of the staff and the genuine care they show for the residents. They are extremely responsive to the needs of the individual residents. The OT and PT staff are very thorough and persuasive without being abrasive. They are respectful of limitations yet kind in encouraging the residents to put in the effort required. The front desk staff are very polite and helpful, taking the time to treat people as individuals and friends, showing genuine interest. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is in need and will show respect to those who are helping them. The staff are very busy, but will help with anything that they can, but one must be patient and respectful. These caregivers deserve that at a minimum.

We were grateful to have met such dedicated individuals working here. Although we didn’t stay overnight, and the visit only lasted a few hours, our mom was treated with kindness and dignity. Special thanks to Bob the RN for providing valuable information and taking the time to get to know our mom and here needs. The CNA assigned to her in room 105 was very friendly and knowledgeable. Darlene at the front desk made us feel very welcome. Thank you ™

I've heard many stories of this place but all I saw looked good. I'm not a patient or a client but was running errands for a patient. I was greeted by friendly faces (management) & that was where I had my business. I did see several care nurses pass by me & not speak a word & basically looked like they were hating life. Thankfully I ran into others that did care & they took care of my needs. Place looked good to me.

I was extremely happy with the services at Rio rancho rehab Center! The nurses, the text, everybody was so kind and caring. And my roommates I got some really good roommates. I kind of hated to leave. But I would recommend this place to anybody. I push my buzzer and they would come immediately! I was very very happy entire time. The only thing I have to say is the food could have been a little bit better LOL but I'm not going to complain about it. Cuz there was one chef who was fantastic and he gave me anything that I ordered. But thank you for your facility and for how good you treated me.

The most clean, friendly and professional casino I’ve ever been to. Everyone was so attentive to my stay. I got updates and reminders about my reservations throughout the casino. The Juniper restaurant was just as classy as I expected. My room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I didn’t even have to mess with the thermostat. My entire experience was phenomenal!! I highly recommend everyone to stay at the Santa Ana Star casino and hotel!

The staff seems to care for their residents! I am impressed as to how many people remember my mother’s name. The facility is showing its age but they have done a good job keeping up. And I feel Mom is in a secure place.

I also like to say that the nurses that took care of me provided me my medications.And look after me for my care.Is it going to ever be staff?Especially, Taloa. Thank you, thanks for pushing me and making me do my physical therapy because of you., The ability to walk, stand, and move around safely has become a great way of me getting around, again., Once again, thank you so much for all of your work and effort. You really have made me happy. Heather A, Front Desk ™ your support by making sure that all patients get travel to and from appointments, and making sure that we as patients get our follow-up appointments set, again making sure we get travel set to and from for our medical needs is truly impeccable on your part as we can all count on your expertise. Sometimes the nurses do get busy. But this is normal for any hospital. Facility nurses cannot always be on top of the light when you push the button. But they do their best to meet your needs as soon as they get to your call. Li have noticed often in the early evening hours. Multiple call lights will be pushed at the same time. So, be patient, allow the nurses to do their jobs and assess who's light needs priority care first.

Like. Any other place Rio Rancho Genesis has its Highs and Lows however, it truly has more Highs than Lows. That is why I truly rated 5 out of 5, as Genesis has great staff, a good physical therapy team who truly pushes the patients to comply with the Doctor's orders. So that they can heal.This staff is very friendly and attentive to all the patient's needs. Many of the patients Whom I got in to speak to and meet truly think highly of Genesis, though There are many patients who have been there for many years and truly think that what they provide is not only safety, but Respect, they are provided activities that I have taken part of and sound to be truly a blessed. I believe the VA hospital In Albuquerque, new mexicotruly place me in a place for recovery.Great job. I thank Genesis for the chance to have been able to stay there. Looking forward to having my wife.Stay there, so ask her recovery.She's gonna believe Genesis, Rio Rancho, NM is the way to go

I had a family member recently stay here and every time I visited she was happy and clean. Her needs were attended to every time she needed something and she did great with therapy. I recommend this company as a comfortable, family, friendly, and trustworthy staff as far as I could see . Attentive to their Job . In the front lobby has a place for the birds so that the guests or patients can enjoy the Birds. Except one thing that is actually lacking is the cage having Birds. Maybe they died too..... Most places like these patients won't come out. Like birds caged can no longer fly... Elderly rehabilitation hospitals that look and feel like homes are a place to go die....

I’m currently someone being taken care of here and really truly believe an inside view is the best. One Arnel from PT is beyond amazing he will make you smile. I can guarantee he wants the best for you. I was a bit anxious my first morning with all the movement he never let me get to him. Veronica from administration was a complete sweetheart she really made you feel ok and cared for. There is another gentleman in PT who always says hi and addresses you by your name he’s a great guy also. I guess that sums up PT they are good people. Food is actually really good I came from a place where it was bad so I know. Our rooms are always well kept and cleaned the crew does their job well and constantly going around like the shower room I have to use it and it’s always clean. People are always doing something with the residents during the day today was Volleyball with balloons and yesterday meditation with stretching. This is so important I can not express that enough it keeps you from going stir fry. There is during the week a Dr at the facility and some Nurse Practitioners I met with one through all my frustrations she was super nice and kept telling me she was here to help she didn’t just do that little minute chit chat and walk away she legit listened and explained to the best of her ability and spent a good amount of time with me . So again this is huge and do you know how much money they are saving the state by not sending everyone with a little symptom back to the hospital Issues are addressed here that is huge I can not explain how big that is. So I would definitely see me using this facility again or for a family member if I needed to. Now I’d be lying it’s not perfect by far but what I’m looking at are the main things we need here. Therapy, Food , Bed and Medical attention. I appreciate the help I’m receiving truly do. I would like to point out that to get help when pressing the call light is really bad and needs addressing 35-50 minute waits is not ok and potentially dangerous something serious can be happening and no one comes. Also a few people that have a complete attitude for no reason I think they forget we are sick and really need them to remember that many of us are on their last days on earth and you being rude or hateful is uncalled for I would name you few but feel it takes away from the good that’s being done. So I again say thank you to all the hard workers and hopefully the few that are in the wrong are redirected to another field.

The facility is very clean and has a friendly staff. It smells fantastic throughout. I met with Lance who is Nurse and Manager he was in charge of John DeJesus arrival today, and well being. He was very informative, good listner, and very nice I could tell that he genuinely cares about his patients. As you know it is very difficult and heart breaking leaving our family members. He has given me peace of mind. It was a pleasure meeting with him and will continue to see eachother as we come to see my cousin. Thank you!! Anna Gonzales

I had a relative that stayed approximately 15 days in this facility. I visited daily. Pros: - Delicious food - Comfortable Dining area - Open door policy for conversations with the MD, NP, Nurses, Med Tech, Social Workers, and CNAs. ~ ICT meeting/ case conference with all service teams - Passionate and Dedicated employees: Brian, Kim, Cheryl, Marisa, Michelle, Keren, Maryanne, Stacey, Charlene, Jessica, Michael, Heather, Dakota, Delia, Vanessa, and Deanna, Cons: ~ Tiny Physical Therapy area ~ If you are a female patient you must specify female CNAs only otherwise male CNAs will be taking care of you. ~ A family member or friend should make daily visits for the best care and services for the patient. ~ Only 1 return call from the corporate representative ~ Karl H but was promised another follow up call concerning my issues. Still waiting.

Every time I visit this assisted care facility I am impressed with how they really care about its residents. The staff definitely seem to have lots of compassion. Especially I can tell that the activities program here is excellent. For example, they provide monthly birthday parties with good live music. This definitely seem to have positive effect on many residents! I highly recommend Genesis Rio Rancho.
