Every one at Palmilla is very willing to help us residents. The Executive Direstor Lizz is wonderful. From what I experienced, she truly cares about the residents. They do alot for the us. They decorate accordingly for each holiday and truly make us feel appreciated. We have lived here 3 years and are happy here. We have lived at 2 other facilities and in my opinion Palmilla Senior Living is the very best place for us to be. All the staff is great. No Complaints. Your facility is blessed to have Lizz as their director, as are the residents.

Someone recently told me that they were sorry that we had to put our mom into Assisted Living. I said don’t feel sorry for us. It was the best thing we could’ve done for her. We sat with the staff for MC's initial 30 day evaluation. Each team member was informative and helpful, clarifying her progress and adjustment to the new environment. They were responsive to the questions raised. The staff has been wonderful in helping M adjust.

Staff is friendly, but I've hearing from family in independent living, caregivers, concerned family, and visiting friends that the food is over salted. High sodium leads to high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. I finally tasted the food myself from the dining room and I was appalled. Over salted is an understatement. Considering the elder community here, nutrition and diet is key to good care. Management needs to figure this out immediately. I'm sharing my concerns here as I know of several people who have contacted Palmilla directly as well as the national or upper management, for months now, with no changes. Please take the people willing to pay your facilities thousands of dollars a month seriously and provide them adequate nutrition. This is a health hazard.

Palmilla is an amazing place for senior living options. They are one of very few in town that offer both independent and assisted living. Marcy is especially knowledgeable and helpful all while making thorough evaluations and recommendations to ensure a proper fit for the residents. She’s a keeper!

My Dad was a resident at this facility for just over 3 yearsMy Dad suffers from dementia and we found their high and regular employee turnover to be challenging to his mental conditionSeveral of the facilities daily care staff was very pleasant to deal with, however we found upper management on both the local and national level to be very challenging to deal with. When we decided it was in my Dads best interest to relocate and gave notice of termination personalities changed quicklyAt final walkthrough, we were notified of excessive carpet wear for a path from the bedroom door to the side of the bedThe carpet was never steam cleaned, rather we were assessed a complete carpet replacement cost after years of unattended wearReplacement costs were not presented upfront, rather they were provided at time of move-out of which we were expected to pay their presented costs in full in order to close out our lease. My Dad ended up being in the hospital, then rehab for over 30 daysThe lease had a clause stating that leasee is responsible for all costs associated with rent and care regardless of whether they are performed or coordinated in their absenceWhile I understand a facilities overhead, I feel that it would have been fair and equitable to provide a small amount of financial assistance with items such as medication management and care level services when these services were not performed or coordinated by care staff while a resident is away from the facility due to a medical situation. When the situation arose, I found it very challenging to get in touch with out of state corporate management and when I finally tracked down a contact I had difficulty getting a return phone callThe local facility CEO was not respond to e-mails and once I finally reached a corporate representative he was very inconsiderate and made no significant effort toward resolution. All in all we found this facility to be very corporate oriented and financially drivenWe feel we did not receive the services or level of care presented in marketing materials and found on the companies website. I recommend anyone looking at this facility perform a thorough review of the lease before signing.

Hard to find a place that will do the little things to care for a loved one, but Palmilla does. Have experience with a casita for my mom and aunt, and now my mom in Memory Care. It's all been very caring, and as good as we can ask for. Warm, loving staff. Helpful, communicative. No one wants to have a loved one in assisted living, but if we must, in Albuquerque, this is the place to go. My brothers and I are very happy with Palmilla. Thanks!

I can't say enough about Marcy Reames and the support I received from her when I not only once, but twice, considered moving my folks moving into Palmilla. The decision to move them out of their home and into a place where they would be provided more support and help was a very difficult one to make...especially with parents who in no way wanted to leave their home. The guidance and support provided me by Marcy was outstanding. She was extremely understanding about my situation and helped guide me.

My mom was in memory care for her last months. I found the staff to be both caring and very competent. These folks know their residents! I could talk to anyone on the floor and they knew whether she had eaten or not, whether she was having an off day, and if there were any particulars that I should know about. I always found that she was well cared for, and it didn’t matter when I popped in or which shift it was. The thing that made it special was the sweet talk that I heard multiple times just before entering her room when staff was combing her hair and getting her ready to go for the day. All told, given the situation, this was a really good, and very positive experience for us and a place I would highly recommend.

The staff at Palmilla became like family to Mom and me over the past 14 months. I always knew she was well cared for and I didn't need to worry about her safety. Many times they brought her meals. I could call anytime and ask to talk with the med techs or caregivers. They always gave me time to ask questions and never made me feel like I was interrupting. Quite a few times they helped search for lost hearing aides or shoes or just checked on her for me when I couldn't reach her by phone. Mom's final week in Memory Care was such a good move! Mom was at peace and content when she passed because of the extra care. I will be forever grateful to so many of the staff.

We have multiple clients that live in Assisted Living and Independent Living at Palmilla. They are extremely happy. We go do visits often to make sure they have everything they need, and as an owner, I am always very impressed with Palmilla. Everyone is friendly and welcomes you when you are there. The food is really good, and we love to help them when they do their activities and events with their residents.

I looked many places and Palmilla was by far the best option the staff was supportive and the entire move-in process went smooth. My mom loves her beautiful apartment and she is really happy and is meeting new friends! My Mother had been living at Fairwinds for about 5 years. Repairs in her apartment were not fixed as promised. The nursing staff was not consistent in regards to dispensing of medication times. My mother was even given the wrong dosage of medication at times. Went to Palmilla, just walking thru those doors there was a positive energy about the place. We were greeted by all the staff, as well as the residents. We got a chance to eat lunch while we were touring the facility. The food was acceptable. The whole environment was bright. Had a chance to talk to some of the residents and not one had anything negative to say about the facility. Should of made this move to this facility a long time ago.

After visiting many assisted living facilities in town we discovered Palmilla Senior Living for my grandma with dementia. The entire time she was there she was always happy. The entire building is always bright and lively. The food and dining room is wonderful. She never once complained about being there. Every one of the staff either working with her directly or not was extremely caring. We noticed very little turnover in staff and the care coordinator, Lizz, was incredible the entire time. Both assisted living and memory care were exceptional. The gang at Palmilla made my grandmas time there enjoyable and exciting and it was a great experience for our entire family.

Visited here for a couple of days while crossing America for the Alzheimer's Association. The bottom line can be found by speaking with residents. The residents love the place, the staff and the food.

As a Home Care PT for Advantage Home Care & Hospice, I see a lot of assisted living facilities. This one is gorgeous! And they offer so many activities, they have 3 different schedules to keep track of it all. I, as a PT, especially like that Palmilla offers multiple exercise classes, daily. The Palmilla staff has also demonstrated that they have a strong commitment to keeping their residents functioning at the highest level of independence as possible by offering free wellness screening to help identify potential problems before they become real mobility issues. The staff is very friendly and very helpful whenever I have a question, and I have observed staff on many occasions interacting w/their residents in a courteous, respectful, and helpful manner. I have not had an opportunity to try the food, but everyone I've spoken to says it's great, too! I would definitely recommend Palmilla.
