My mother passed away at Brandywine last month. The decisions you are facing now about the care of a loved one are difficult and life-changing ones. It is with great gratitude that share my experiences with Brandywine at Pennington to assist you. This is the third review I have written over many years. Hard to believe it has been 8 years since mother moved into her one-bedroom suite at Brandywine. In my first review I comment on what a lovely facility, with many activities, and great food. I talked about the difficult transition for parents leaving their homes of (in my case) 50 years, and how it did not take long for mother and for me - to feel part of the Brandywine community. Several years later mother moved to a one room studio, and I submitted a second review. While it was still true the building is beautiful, the food restaurant quality, and the activities extensive, it became obvious that the thing that sets Brandywine at Pennington apart is the people. I shared how everyone there is warm and welcoming and truly cares about each for their residents and it is so evident in all they do. Last year mother moved again to a very small room in the Reflection Unit. This was a very difficult time for us as health issues emerged and dementia set in pronouncing that she could no longer live independently. The Reflections director took the time to explain so many things and prepare me for the steps of aging. Not only was she knowledgeable and informative, but she was warm, compassionate and understanding. Before long medications were regulated, and mother became a new woman. Gone was the wheelchair and back to walking all over with her walker. Her appetite returned and we enjoyed going out to lunch at least once a week. While she would ask the same question over and over and could not tell me what she had for dinner, we were able to carry on wonderful conversations about past trips, family and friends and even current events. I no longer had to worry about being a caregiver. Did she take her medication, did she brush her teeth, do her clothes need to be changed, are we managing her incontinence? All these things were being done respectfully and lovingly by the staff in Reflections. Our time together was spent talking, playing cards, and going to lunch special mother/daughter moments. A trip to the ER brought on by sudden stomach pain revealed a ruptured colon, and mother returned to Brandywine under hospice care for the last week of her life. I stayed there every day, and I was truly amazed at the number of staff members that came to her room to check on mother aids, nurses, housekeeping, maintenance, and the list goes on. Each one took the time to share a story about her and tell me what a sweet lady she was, and they would miss her. These stories shared compassionately filled my heart and brought gratitude at this very difficult time. In the days after her passing as I packed her things, the staff continued to offer their condolences. Whether it was the receptionist when I arrived, or a wellness nurse in the hall, to a staff member in the lobby, everyone took the time to consol me. In the Reflection unit I was hugged by all with teary eyes that expressed they too had lost a family member. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the kind and loving care that was given to mother not only in her final days but over the last eight years of her life. Joining the Brandywine at Pennington "Family" is a decision for which you too will always be thankful.

Great place and great employees! My dad is a resident, and years of being a deacon at First Presbyterian. Every week he and all of us love being greeted by your employee Lauren who handles all the fun stuff dad gets to do. Lauren takes great care of him and keeps him laughing and feeling loved when we can't visit him. Dad and all of us in the family are thankful for her attention to the residence. Great facility. Great people like Ms. Lauren!!!

Upon visiting with a friend in order to find a placement for her grandmother, I highly recommended she chooses this facility. It is a beautiful community, staff and residents are very welcoming. I met with Lauren the Activities Coordinator who explained the activities they conduct and was highly impressed with the large variety of activities they have to keep residents engaged including but not limited to social, intellectual and spiritual!

We definitely know we made the right decision in choosing Brandywine for our mom. She's well cared for and she's smiling and happy again. When we come to visit and take her out, she makes sure we bring her back in time for Bingo! Best decision we've made.

We researched for months to find the best place for my aunt and takes to 40+ facilities in central NJ. We visited 7 in person. Brandywine Pennington rose to the top easily. They were so transparent about pricing, insurance, staffing- everything. Phylicia made us 100% sure she would be loved and respected if we placed my aunt there. We ultimately went with a facility closer to a Catholic Church which is most important to my aunt, but I'd have lived in any of the Brandywine facilities HAPPILY. They even worked with us on pricing based on her needs. I'll be recommending them to anyone looking.

I recently visited Brandywine Pennington, and I was blown away. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. I am amazed at how many activities there are for all the residents. There seems to always be an activity going on. I also had the pleasure of meeting Lauren. She was so great at explaining to me all the different activities and what to expect with having a loved one there. Without hesitation, I would recommend this community to anyone looking into it.

My mom spent almost five years at Brandywine Living at Pennington. We felt fortunate to have her living in a facility that took such good care of their residents. When my mom was living on the assisted living side at Brandywine, she participated in many activities and field trips. It was great to see her have friends and social events to keep her busy and happy. She enjoyed sharing meals with friends, and the staff always made sure she didn't miss any meals! After a few years, my mom transitioned to the memory care unit at Brandywine. The staff was wonderful with helping her ease into a new apartment and enviroment. My mom had several nurses and care givers that were always kind, and took great care of her. When my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers my family had to decide how we could best care for our mom. After visting Brandywine Living at Pennington, we all agreed that it was the best place for our mom. The staff was supportive from the first day we visited until our mom's passing. We are so very grateful for the wonderful staff and environment at Brandywine.

We could not be more pleased with our choice of Brandywine of Pennington. Mother has been there for over five years, and it really feels like home. This is such a big life change as most our parents have been in their homes for decades, and I won't lie and say it was easy. It is a process, and there are adjustments needed, but the staff was so helpful and nowhere along the way did I ever feel this was not the BEST choice for my mother. It wasn't long before mother felt part of the community and joined in the activities. While it is true the building is beautiful, the food restaurant quality, and the activities extensive - this can be said of other facilities you may be considering. The thing that sets Brandywine at Pennington apart is the staff. Everyone there - from Ellen down to the housekeeping staff - are warm and welcoming and truly care about each for their residents and it is so obvious in all they do.

Our mom had some struggles adapting to Assisted Living at a different facility, making it necessary for us to change locations. After an extensive search, we chose Brandywine at Pennington to be her new home. When she first moved there, her emotional challenges continued. The Brandywine staff worked with our family and addressed her needs better than we could have ever hoped for! They were patient. They were caring. They were embracing. They knew how to help her and advise us. After a few short weeks (yes .. sadly it did take weeks), our mom welcomed her new living environment and is now not only thriving but is happy! She joins many of the internal and external activities, to include trips to the planetarium, wine tasting and many others. She loves the Friday evening social hour! Her physical needs have changed a little in the six months, and the staff noticed her needs and adjusted their care accordingly. Without our family asking for any help! They are all very attentive! And, the building has been recently renovated, which is definitely a bonus! Mom is living in a newly renovated room, to include new carpet, efficiency kitchen, and bathroom. We are so happy with the care at Brandywine! We can now rest easier, knowing our mom is living in a safe, healthy, nurturing, and fun environment!

Brandywine is incredible!! We moved my (reluctant) parents there in December. They love it!! It's super well maintained, the staff is kind and helpful plus the meals are delicious with lots of variety. There are lots of activities. We had a tight timeline to get them moved in but Brandywine (Phylicia in particular) did everything they could to help us make it happen. Definitely would recommend.

Home to our mom for the past 9 years, the entire staff of this facility has been like family. The respect and compassion that has been given to Mom is evident every single day. She loves to say, "Everyone is so kind here. I feel very safe." And she is! From the professional nurses, the dedicated office and kitchen staff and the thoughtful aids that are true angels devoted to our Mom, the folks at Brandywine Pennington are GREAT!

My 97 year old mother lived at Brandywine for three years until she passed away from surgery complications. She loved it there! The residents are very friendly and the staff is so kind and receptive. My mother enjoyed eating with her table guests for each meal and the various activities. The facility is beautifully decorated and so clean. We picked the right place!

My Mom has lived happily in the Brandywine community at Pennington for almost 5 years. She has struggled with the isolation of this pandemic as we all have, but the staff at Brandywine has responded with genuine compassion and care. We sleep better at night knowing she is safe and well cared for at Brandywine.

My mom was a resident of Brandywine Pennington for 6 1/2 years. My mom was no longer capable of taking care of her home after my father died. My mom had a good life at Brandywine, making friends, enjoying meal times and enjoying special activities. The staff was always helpful, supportive and caring. We have recently moved my mom to a skilled nursing facility because she needs more care. I am grateful for the Brandywine family during her residency there. I would highly recommend this facility.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Brandywine (Pennington). Prior to her move in September 2018, my mom researched senior living facilities on her own and felt most comfortable with Brandywine. For both of us, Brandywine is like a family combining both residents and employees. Since quarantine began in March 2020 residents and their families receive weekly updates keeping us all well informed. Despite the stresses of the pandemic, employees work especially hard and with a smile in their faces. I am grateful for the care provided to my mom and can recommend Brandywine (Pennington) without reservation.

My mother moved in to Brandywine Pennington five months ago and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. My mother was very worried about moving into an assisted living facility, as she really had never thought about it or looked into it before it became necessary. Everyone at Brandywine is SO nice and caring. She's met friends and done many things that she hadn't done in a long time when living in her house. She will call me and tell me that she had been on a safari (to Six Flags), or a scenic drive, or a movie, or had her hair done. The care is excellent. The food is excellent. Five stars!!

We moved my mother to Brandywine Assisted Living, Pennington NJ 2 years ago. She had lived independently her whole life, and while this was a big change for her, it has been a very positive one. The entire staff is extremely attentive and caring from a health and wellness perspective as well as a daily quality of life one. They are all friendly and seem to deeply care for their residents like family. During the pandemic BW has taken great measures to keep everyone safe inside, testing employees weekly, and being very vigilant about anyone essential entering the building. They all wear masks at all times and keep the place clean and sanitized. Their visitation policies are very strict for the well-being of their residents, and I am grateful that I can visit with my mother safely outside, and now in a new ventilated igloo they purchased for outdoors. I highly recommend BW to anyone considering moving their loved one(s) to a beautiful, safe and well-run home for the elderly.
