Spring Oak at Forked River – Reviews
April 2024
Since a change in the Adminstration at Spring Oaks Assisted Living in Forked River, (Renee coming onboard) within the last couple of years we have noticed a dramatic improvement in the Facility. Renee, Francesca and all of the staff are responsive, patient and involved in what is going on at the Facility. We find Spring Oaks safe, comfortable, clean and very helpful, along with offering upbeat activities should the residents choose to be involved on site or bus trips. Every staff member is professional, engaging, and involved with the residents care and well being from the Administration to Reception, Support Services, Nursing and Physical therapy; you all go above and beyond! Thank you to everyone for your care and patience!

After a year and a half of talking and planning my dad finally agreed to go into assisted living. We had visited a few in the area and although Spring Oak was not the most bougie it had the feeling of home as soon as I walked in. Francesca was very patient with me making me feel like this decision was ok and that my dad would be just fine here. She was totally right because my dad has thrived. He has made friends with not only the other residents but the staff as well. Everyone is very very pleasant from administration (Renee, Joanne ,Francesca ,Laurie) to nurses ,Kitchen (Ross and crew) ,Activities (Ruthann) ,maintenance(James),not to mention the girls at the reception window (everyone of them). They also have a wonderful Physical and occupational therapy crew! Any concerns I have had the staff ha always listened and done their very best to rectify it. If I had a negative comment it would just be that they need to make the halls and dining room much brighter. If you are looking for assisted Living for a loved one you need to check Spring Oak of Forked River out

My family placed my great-grandmother at this community and had such a nice experience. The staff was so friendly, helpful and patient with her and our family. They even let us hold a birthday celebration for her in the activity room for our whole family. Overall it is a great family driven community.

My family and I were thrilled when my mom joined the Spring Oak of Forked River community. We were very pleased with the care provided by the staff who were so nice and warm. The team at Spring Oak made the last year of her life very special for her and our family.

I just took a tour of Spring Oak and I loved it. Even during the hard times of Covid the staff was wonderful, everywhere I looked there was staff cleaning the building. It was so welcoming, the staff was respectful, and it truly felt like a home. I will be bringing my mother back to see for herself and she cant wait!

It has been almost a year that we lost our father. He was a resident for almost 2 years. The administartor is a cold hearted excuse of a human being. The workers are under paid and over worked. They can never retain the help because they are cheap. Obviously the company is all about greed and cares very little about the residents. After he passed, we didn't even get an "I'm sorry for your loss". Not even a sympathy card. It pains me every single time I drive by there. He did not deserve his final chapter to be spent in such a disrespectful place.

Staff is attentive and also very caring and helpful with mom. They actually got her to play games on the memory unit where another place failed. She also gets all her clothes cleaned returned again where another place failed. Nothing fancy but caring and every time I go in mom is clean and well cared for.

My mom has just become a resident as of 2/14/17. I'm adding a review now because of how I was handled as an over-stressed, overwhelmed, frightened daughter entering a season of life that is so extremely delicate and scary. Most (90%) of the executive staff is helpful and ease the transition as best they can without making you feel as if your loved one is a "cash cow" and without sounding harsh, "a body in a bed =$$$...The support staff on the other hand (nurse, aides) are EXCEPTIONAL! We had a rough first and second day that can only be described as, "you can't make this up" with my mom and her declining diesese??. They (Mimi and Michelle) were compassionate and caring when even I couldn't take the stress. The serving staff (dining) are a bit harsh and rough on the residents and could use a bit more training in human kindness. After all these residents are far from charity and pay a substantial rent/fee for their home. Time will tell as to the care and kindness I will observe and critique as the weeks and months go by...I will update and adjust when necessary! We all should be more vocal in demanding superior care for our senior loved ones! We owe them our existence and should be treasured

I think that the Sping Oaks at Forked River is a great facility. The staff are all very friendly and the place is always nice and clean, there is never an order when I walk in to visit my mother. The meals are good, my mother likes the food and she says they feed her too much which is a good sign. They have a calendar with daily activities, she is involved in all of them.

Our experience with Spring Oak was only a very brief one, our loved one had to move out after only a few days, but the experience was a good one. They really impressed us when we were touring, it is a nice looking place and seems well run. We also appreciated that they do not require a long period of private pay before Medicaid can kick in.

First Bill went on a visit for Spring Oak, then Bill, myself and his brother went on a second visit. Our third visit we all went with including my mother-in-law Carol. Spring Oak was very accommodating with moving my mother-in-law in. They allowed us to move in some items in to her room before she got there. This helped her feel like a part of home was with her. My mother-in-law loves Spring Oak, she always has great things to say when we see her. We visit her once a week and we feel very confident that the community is taking good care of her. We never feel like we have to check up on her. Their staff is very friendly and make the effort to bring the residence out with other people and encourage them to do their activities. In fact one weekend we visited mom and she was busy playing a game. She asked that we wait till she is done, because she was having so much fun. Our plan was to move in both my father-in-law and mother-in-law in to Spring Oak. Sadly that never happened since my father-in-law passed away. When the day came for my father-in-laws funeral Spring Oak went the extra mile. My husband had dropped off his mothers clothes the night before. When he went to pick his mother up at 8:00 a.m. the next day, the community had gotten mom all dressed with her nails and hair all done. She looked amazing, which helped made this day more amazing and easier to go through. I would highly recommend Spring Oak at Forks River to anyone that is looking for a place for their loved one. Our journey has been much easier with having a community like Spring Oaks one our side.
