For months I've been drafting in my head a review of my experience with Gail Kinney and so many of the Riverwalk Village community; moving my mom from our childhood home to her "next best move" to The House of the Good Shephard's Riverwalk Village. From start to finish its been like a feel-good, movie script of a story. Gail has been consistently supportive, directing with love, compassion and expertise as we worked through the decision with my mom that would enhance the quality of her life in the ways we would best dream of. Our relationship began with my casual inquiry before choosing another place "Oh your mom doesnt sound like assistive living material". Boy was she right, but it would take months of convincing mom to agree. Those months were met with welcomes to come anytime and invitations to both big and small events so Mom could get a feel for what it would be like to call this her home. I knew she would be the "Bell of the ball" once here and six months after that initial phone call, Mom moved in to the biggest upgrade to her lifestyle we could imagine! Her new place is half the size of her old home but spacious and beautiful: a fancy, full kitchen, wonderful bathroom and terrific views out her livingroom and bedroom windows. Mom is the bell of the ball. Once sedentary, she attends exercise and enrichment classes, hangs with her new freinds after dinner and signs up for trips and adventures. She sits and chats on the balcony overlooking the river and attends neighbor meetings. And Gail and team have been with us through it all. Her interest in my Mom's success is genuine and continues to this day! I have called on her for occasional support and Gail willingly guides our needs. HOTGS is more than a dream come true and has enriched my Mom's life in both measurable and immerasurable ways. I am so grateful. Thank you Gail, Jeff, Rahzon and ALL the staff at Riverwalk Village - Fondly, Donna and Scott Best- Stanhope, NJ

My parents needed a place to move into very quickly and were starting to get discouraged as they looked around at different facilities. A last-minute stop in at Riverwalk changed everything for them. They decided that day to put their deposit down on an independent living unit, moved in very shortly afterwards, and have been enjoying it ever since move-in day. Gail K was instrumental in not only making them comfortable walking in but also answering our millions of questions before, during, and after their move-in. We have found all the staff so easy to work with, quick to respond to questions, and very caring as they got my parents set up with various health-related therapies, rides around town, and most importantly, prescription management. (I think some of the reviews from more than a year ago are from prior management. We have found Fellowship Life to be top notch.) The community of people living there is very friendly and lively as well. It is such a beautiful setting near the river and extremely peaceful. My parents ended up with a 2-bedroom apartment that was completely renovated and it is gorgeous. I am thrilled my parents are there and so are they.

I have so many good things to say about Riverwalk Village. My parents just moved there a couple of days ago. I worked with Gail through the whole process of getting the ideal apartment for them. She’s extremely helpful, patient and kind. It was a pleasure dealing with her. I went on a couple of tours of independent living communities in the area and nothing compares to Riverwalk. I know my parents are in the best place for them!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Riverwalk Village and the incredible care we received from Gail Kinney during our journey. From the very first conversation, Gail was not only knowledgeable and responsive, but also genuinely kind and supportive. She took the time to answer every question, walk us through the process, and made sure my parents felt confident and cared for every step of the way. Laura Keane’s initial tour was incredible and we knew we were in the right place. Now that my parents are settled into their independent living apartments, they are truly thriving. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great balance of privacy and community. They’ve enjoyed making new friends, taking part in the many engaging activities, and especially love the beautiful, natural surroundings—it’s such a peaceful and rejuvenating setting. The entire staff has been attentive and compassionate, creating a sense of home that has given our whole family peace of mind. We are so grateful to Gail for guiding us with such thoughtfulness and to everyone at Riverwalk for helping make this transition such a positive one. Highly recommend!!!

Having worked in real estate for over 16 years, working with family members who have placed loved ones in Senior living facilities, I found myself on the other side of the deal for the 1st time. I have worked with different companies throughout the area but had a personal (and 1st time) experience with Gail Kinney & Riverwalk Village at The House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown. I had specific criteria that I was looking for when seeking out a place for my in-laws. I was very matter of fact when I spoke with Gail and she provided me the information I needed. I quickly visited the facility and returned that night with my husband. We toured multiple facilities in the area and were in the process of contracting with another one however, when he & I toured Riverwalk, we knew that was the right place for his parents. Gail worked tirelessly with us & my in-laws who were out of state to get things done promptly. Within 6 weeks, they walked into there knew home, purchased site unseen & were delighted. They were pleasantly surprised at to how comfortable, homey Riverwalk felt. As homeowners for over 60 years moving into a facility was a huge emotional task however the transition has been seamless, the staff has been wonderful to work with. From Gail in Sales, to Gail at the front desk to Dakota in maintenance, everyone has been extremely helpful and have gone out of their way to make our family feel at home and that makes us confident in the choice we made.

December marked one year since I moved to Riverwalk. Moving here has proved to be a good decision. If there was one factor that makes River Walk exceptional, it is the people. You have assembled a group of truly caring, friendly team members. It means a lot to me as a resident to feel the support given at every level. Which brings me to the one group with whom I have had the most experience and benefit- The Wellness Team. When I arrived at Riverwalk, I was in poor physical condition. I proceeded to attend the various classes in strength, flexibility and balance that were offered. They are a wonderful addition to the services provided at River Walk. While I gradually saw improvement from the classes, I also realized that I needed more intense work to improve. I began physical therapy to improve my balance and strength with Amber Brady, it was a good decision, as Mrs. Brady proved to be a highly skilled therapist. I began to see a gradual improvement in my physical conditioning and sense of balance. The path she put me on has continued to lead to improvement and renewed confidence. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to work with the other members of the wellness team Megan, Michelle and Sharon. Each has guided me to new levels of ability and confidence. I continue to attend the wellness classes and work individually with them towards continued improvement. Aside from their skills, the four ladies I have had the opportunity to work with are the nicest, most empathetic people I know. They make the often difficulty physical work pleasant, even fun, by their positive attitudes. Amber was the first member of the wellness team to work with me, and I give her a great deal of credit for starting me on the path to improvement. In truth, each of the wellness team members has continued me on the path to better strength and balance.
