An unbelievably caring and loving place for my mother in their memory care residency. All the staff, maybe a dozen of them over the course of her four years there, were such special people. From Val Duran at concierge (great way to enter her home, first impressions matter) to Kerry and Simone up top. To all the loving nurses and staff, just so caring and kind. Saints. To the business team led by Dana. My Mom’s last four years were peaceful and she passed on with dignity and lovecan’t thank them enough.

From the moment she moved in, we felt comforted by how warm and home-like the community is”it never felt clinical or impersonal. She lived in the memory care neighborhood on the third floor, where Simone leads with exceptional compassion and grace. My mother was always treated with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. The team cared for her thoughtfully every single day, and we were welcomed to visit freely, always greeted by staff who were supportive, cheerful, and attentive. Knowing she was engaged, comfortable, and safe brought enormous peace of mind to our entire family. She made wonderful friends, enjoyed a full calendar of activities, and truly thrived in an environment that kept her connected and stimulated. Sunrise of Cresskill NJ was a home for my mother for 2 1/2 years. She made so many lovely friends had a busy schedule everyday by being involved with all the activities. All the staff were very caring they took care of her daily with her needs Near the end she was surrounded by loving family and a loving caring staff. I wish she could have been there longer as she had many good times there . It’s a very beautiful place for your loved one to live .

My mother in law has been a resident for three great years. The care provided to her has improved her life and made it easier for her family to take care of her. The staff is kind and professional and whose first goal is taking care of the residents. As an individual in there 60s, I often think about my future and think when needed, this would be a great place for me.

Sunrise of Cresskill is where my mom lived the last 3 1/2 years of her life. I like the fact that it is set up to feel like a home and not a hospital. My mom was in memory care (3rd floor) where Simone is in charge. Mom was treated with respect and taken good care of. We were able to visit her whenever we wanted, and the staff was always friendly and supportive. My family and I were able to rest easier knowing our mother was happy, comfortable, and safe during her final years.

Best care outside of your family home. It brings comfort in knowing your loved ones are well taken care of and most of all still in a family home like environment. The entire staff is always attentive of what’s going on and are always interacting with their residents. They are the next best thing to family! Special shout out to Care taker Kerri , for always sending me a photo here and there of my mom enjoying a happy moment, which always brightens my day!

I would say it's a good and trustworthy place to leave your loved ones. On the third floor, you can see that there's a lot of work going on, aside from the many types of behaviors that patients may exhibit. The team member or caregiver always treats them with respect and care. There's a little girl on the third floor (Kelly), the best of the best. She treats my loved one with a lot of love, care, and affection as if they were her own family. She's a living, breathing sweetheart, an angel. And the rest of the team are good people too, which is why I give this place 5 stars for the Great support they provide us. I’ll be always grateful for all your support.

From the moment I entered Sunrise, I was pleasantly at ease. Val was the first person I met at the front desk, she was so warm, outgoing and ready to assist in anyway. My mom is in the memory care unit, the staff is respectful and always willing to help. Indera goes way beyond assisting my mom with everyday tasks, she is a gem. Kerry, Simone and Georgia are also ready to listen and help along with the rest of the staff. Dana and her team are truly special, they are always smiling even when they are exhausted and had a hard day. I honestly appreciate all the staff at Sunrise Cresskill, they truly try to go above and beyond. We are very lucky that my mom was accepted to be part of the Sunrise family.

The building and public spaces are beautifully decorated, and the lawns are impeccably manicured. However, everything else is just below average. My mother was in memory care on the 3rd floor and she didn't thrive under their care. The facility is understaffed, most residents aren't allowed in their rooms, and they're lined up in front of the TV in their wheel chairs between meals. The staff do not engage with the residents and seem neither compassionate nor empathetic. Her wheelchair smelled like urine and had sticky food on it, yet no one cleaned it. They might be overworked, but they do the bare minimum and nothing more. The cost is exorbitant--ranging from $12,000 to $15,000 per month--and be aware of additional fees if your loved one needs extra care, such as assistance with medications, feeding or lifts. I can't speak if other large facilities are the same, but please visit and do your homework. I would not recommend this place due to its understaffing, average care, and high costs. Keep searching for a more caring and affordable options.

The buildings and grounds are lovely and well cared for, but the actual prizewinners are the entire staff, from management to the kitchen to the aides to the front desk . Everyone treats the residents like you would treat your own mom. They have a hard job but they always put personal care first.

Choosing a supportive memory care home for a family member is difficult. I visited over 35 homes in the NJ area and the moment I stepped into Sunrise of Cresskill, I knew this would be the perfect place for my mom. She entered Sunrise prior to Covid and the team there took very good care of her before, during and after when we were not able to be with her on a given day. The care managers are family not just workers. They really get to know your family and are an extension of your world. So having slow to little turnover was important as well as seeing Mom smile while bowling, or drawing or just watching volunteers come to play for the elders was so amazing. The care team for my Mom over her five years included many souls but I will never forget any of them. From Patricia who introduced us to our new home, to Deanna and Simone who manage the facility. As well as our care managers Kerry, Christina, Dion and many others of the Memory care village. Thank you for always being extraordinary and for ensuring I never worried about Mom when I had to miss a day or two. May your gift of care bring peace and comfort as well as smiles to many many others! Eileen

The best part of the experience was Pat in admissions - she was warm, inviting and really made it a no brainer when it came time for the family to commit. The atmosphere is wonderful, it’s so homey but traditional and refined at the same time. Love the staff - this place is great!

It’s been one year since our mom joined the Sunrise of Cresskill community. Mom has thrived during this year. The care is good and mom likes the foodthe staff makes sure she has her favorite ice cream to finish her lunch and dinner. Overall, mom is content and so are we.

My parents resided at Sunrise/Cresskill for 10 years (pop for 3 when he passed; mom for 10). The facility is clean. The staff is top professional and caring. Each care manager and staff member we encountered went over and above what was required in order to make sure my folks were safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this facility to anyone.

For the past 6+ years Sunrise has been wonderful for my mom who went from Senior Living with my dad, to assisted living with my dad, then my dad was moved to the Memory Loss Floor. He unfortunately has since passed away. My mom was moved to the Memory Loss Floor after my dad's death and has been doing very well there. The staff is amazing and treat my mom so good. Like they would treat their own parents. Sunrise has been amazing and myself and my siblings know that our mom is in good hands and we don't have to worry about her day to day living and she is being well cared for

My dad is 84 and was very nervous about being "put in a home" after being on his own his whole life, and alone in his apt for the last 10 years. To be honest, I was nervous for him. Would the staff show enough overt kindness. Would they have the patience to communicate with him, considering he is deaf. Would the food be ok; he is very "discerning" in his tastes. Would he make friends. Would he even be open to acknowledging if everything were perfect! He's been at Sunrise for about 6 weeks now and last weekend he told me that Sunrise has become his home! He said the staff treats him like family and really cares about him. He's made several new friends, for the first time in many years as most of his friends have passed over the last few years. He sends me pictures of his dinner every night, and I swear, it's like he has a private chef! One of his childhood favorites somehow ends up on his plate every night! Monday, brisket and mashed potatoes. Tues, pot roast. Weds, prime rib. Thurs. Cheddar cheese omelet with extra crispy bacon and french fries...Every night he has dinner with his new friends and jokes around with the amazing staff, who I can attest, really do care about him and treat him like family! I am so thankful!

My first Google review and I can’t think of a better organization to review. My mother has been a resident at Sunrise of Cresskill for seven years now and I am grateful every day that we found such a wonderful place. She started in Assisted Living although she was just on the cusp of being fine in Independent as well but she figured she might be able to use a little help. Three years later she moved upstairs to the memory care unit where she has been comfortable and well cared for. She has made and lost friends along the way, participated in countless activities and enjoyed celebrations but it’s the kindness and caring by the staff that is what we acknowledge most. During the pandemic, this location had one of the best outcomes in all of Nee Jersey. They adjust their practices as needed and communicate with families regularly and, in the off chance it’s not clear what to do, a simple phonecall answers any questions you may have. This is a wonderful, established community within a large national network.of Sunrise communities - they understand the needs, know how to address situations and can build better experiences for your loved one.

If you are thinking of moving your loved one into a facility, Sunrise of Cresskill is such a lovely community. They are attentive, clean, and always available if you have questions. We moved my 93 year old aunt who had dementia into this facility and she was very well cared for. Never a question about her being clean, she was always showered, wearing different outfits each day, and was still able to have her hair washed and set when she wanted. The nurses, caregivers, kitchen staff, Ascend Hospice, front desk, over night staff, sales, management team, everyone we came into contact with were super supportive and extremely patient in dealing with her type of illness. Sunrise of Cresskill took the worry and guilt off our shoulders and we trusted them to care for her. Never did I think she was mistreated, in danger or could bring any harm to herself because they were always aware of what kind of trouble she was up to. The freedom to stay in her room if she wanted to watch Turner Classics, use her wheelchair to come and go from her room to the entertainment room, to the kitchen to grab her ice cream or just roam around the third floor, gave her the feeling of still having her independence while be looked after. I strongly encourage anyone interested in this community to check it out. They did not disappoint us at all. Thank you to all the Sunrise Employees for taking such great care of Raffaele Cangialosi or as I call her Aunt Ruth!!!

The physical community is beautiful. Paramus is a much better setting than Cresskill. If you need a Medicaid setting, don’t think of Cresskill!

Wall mounted a television for a client in this facility. Ideally where a person would like to have tv would have cable outlet but they put cable outlet in funny areas. In the end we were able to mount on full motion mount.

I have been visiting the relative of a friend at Sunrise. Wow, I am very impressed with this house; feels more like a hotel than a senior residence. Fantastic staff who actually care for the residents.
