After living with us for several years, my mother transitioned to Benchmark’s Nashua Crossings (NC) facility 3 years ago. We couldn’t have made a better decision! Thanks to the wonderful staff and her fellow residents, Mom’s assimilation into the NC community was both smooth and easy. She enjoyed and was grateful for the comfortable and well-maintained facilities, the assistance and care provided by the entire staff and the camaraderie that she shared with several residents with whom she forged some wonderful friendships. Not unexpectedly, with the passage of time, Mom’s needs for care changed/increased. In every instance, the NC team responded with competence, sensitivity and grace. She was especially grateful, as am I, for the care that was lovingly provided by Rosa... As Mom has now passed, we are ever so grateful for the wonderful experience that she had in her Nashua Crossings “home...”

On November 15, 2023, I was catapulted into a moment most of us will not escape. My energetic, independent 89-year-old mother had a catastrophic incident that resulted in an amputation of her left leg above the knee. She was devastated, and all those who loved her were left with the ultimate question, "How do we care for her in a way that affords her the best quality of life possible." Desperate, I made call after call. One of my inquiries led to Nashua Crossing. I received a phone call from Sandra Shepard, the Director of Community Relations. After touring the facility, I was amazed at the opportunities it would offer my mother. Sandra led me through the procedure from start to finish. Although there were bumps in the road, in a country that has turned its back on quality health care for older people, Nashua Crossing is at the top of the list for quality of life. My mother is thriving, and all those who love her are now relieved she will end her life in one of the top assisted living homes in New England. In fact, numerous visitors have told my mother how impressed they are with Nashua Crossing. I recommend Sandra Shepard, Michelle Bianchi, and Nashua Crossing to everyone. Just take a tour and find out for yourself.

My Mom did not enter the Crossing willingly. But once she was there she loved it! The staff was sweet and patient. She loved the horse racing game! The hospice nurse told me the Crossing was one of his top three places in the state.

I think that for the most part my parents get good medical care and assistance here. That being said, it seems when some kind of an issue does come up getting people to return phone calls and messages is difficult. I live out of state and its very important to get appropriate information in a timely fashion from both medical and business people here and that just does not happen the way it needs to.
