I love living at Ledgewood Bay. There is so much to do here. We have nice apartments where we can have our own furniture. We have good meals. The staff is wonderful. Everything I need is right here. We have a list of activities every day. Bingo twice a week. Outside entertainment. We can choose to join in or just relax and enjoy the company of our new found friends. Since moving in to Ledgewood I have made many new friends.

I have been at Ledgewood Bay for over four years. I moved here to be near my daughter who lives not far from Ledgewood.we looked at a few assisted living facilities before we chose Ledgewood Bay. We were impressed by the cleanliness of Ledgewood and the caring of the staff. Both of these observations turned out to be very accurate. I appreciate the kindness and caring of the staff. There are many activities for residents to enjoy. Everyone is encouraged by the activities staff to participate in activities. These are a good way to get to know other residents;as well as being enjoyable. In addition to activities we participate in, we have wonderful and talented entertainers perform for us several times a year. Ledgewood is located in a beautiful area-quiet and peaceful. The front of the building looks out on a wooded area.I highly recommend Ledgewood Bay for anyone needing extra care or prefers not to live alone.

Have been a resident for 2 years. Moved here from a family home and tests on my wife discovered Colon Cancer along with some dementia. Due to a fall, she was hospitalized and only spent 2 weeks here. The staff did a supurb job in supporting my daily visits to the care facility where she spent her last days = providing me with a sandwich lunch every day and driving me back and forth so I could be with her for the 2 mos that she lived. I have a one room apt. with a kiktchenette,bath, space for my desk, bed and dressers along with my TV and computer. The food is tasty, altho the menu clould be expanded. While the portion sizes are small, many oldsters have smaller appetites and additional food is available. There are many daily planned activities listed on a newsheet including a daily exercise regimen and several board games. A social time is held weekly with hors d' ouevers and conversation. Van service for medical appts is provided 3X weekly, and special trips are available to local stores on Monday & Friday. Local musicians occasionally regale us with their talents. Rx management is provided by trained staffers and nurses are on duty 24/7 Laundry service is available. Housekeepers keep the place clean and tidy. Paul Anderson

I moved in to Ledgewood Bay around February of this year with some reservations about what to expect but, I was quite surprised of the things I was able to do and get involved in from painting to arts and crafts, exercise each morning, special projects and special interest programs throughout the month. I have the opportunity to partake or not. It turned out to be much more than I expected. The staff here always willing to help in any way they can. My meds are always monitored and administered as required.I would recommend Ledgewood to anyone who might need this type of facility.

I am enjoying my life here! There is so much to do. Keeping myself busy and keeping my mind busy is great. I have a very nice room. I will have a very nice view of Monadnock when the leaves fall. I eat well. The food is healthy. The portions are just right. The desserts are wonderful. The staff has been very helpful. Ive learned so many games here that Ive never played until I came here. Met a lot of people who have become friends.

I just want to say Thank you to all of you who work in the Avita west wing for all you hard work in keeping our loved one safe and cared for through out this past year. We appreciated you letting us know how they were doing when we could not visit and helping us to be able to stay in touch with Skype, Facetime and/or Zoom with our loved one. Thank you to nurse who was communicating and staying on top of what was going on with our loved one when they were not eating or acting they way they normally do. Thank you!

I have made Ledgewood Bay my home for the past 6 years. The entire staff are so upbeat, caring and giving. They have become my second family. The Programming Department is superb. They provide exercise 6 times a week which is very beneficial for our mind and body. The activities are varied with something for everyone (Book club, garden club, ladies league, mens club, walking group, painting class, crafts, pool, shuffleboard and games). During quarantine the girls provided us with daily puzzles. In the past we have had fabulous musical entertainment. I know we will have this again when we have herd immunity.You can furnish your apartment with your own belongings making your new surroundings feel more familiar. We are located on a quiet hill with beautiful views. I recommend this as a safe, happy place to spend your golden years.

Our family moved both of my parents here in October 2020 and it turned out to be a great decision. Mom went into the memory care unit and Dad into assisted living. Dad moved there so he could continue seeing his beloved wife of 65 years. It is a beautiful facility and the rooms are furnished with the residents own furniture which provide a homey feel. Sadly, Mom passed away a few days ago, but while she was here received compassionate and loving care. They encourage their residents to remain active and participate in their many activities. Marilyn, the head of the Memory care Unit, went out of her way to learn about Mom and to meet her needs, and the nursing staff were all very kind and helpful. Robert at the front desk keeps things running smoothly. Since Mom is gone, rather than moving out and living with family, Dad wants to stay in the assisted living section. He loves this facility, his room, the staff, and the food. They offer Physical Therapy, round the clock nursing availability, lots of activities, food is available 24 hours a day; and he gets to manage the temperature in his room and keep it as warm or as cool as he wishes. This facility is conveniently located near the center of Milford and its many stores and restaurants, yet is nestled on a hill in a quiet, pretty, and serene setting. Its the best of both worlds. The one frustrating issue weve had is with communication. Different staff tend to tell you different answers to the same question, and sometimes they forget to tell you something important. When Dad was in the hospital for several days after a fall, they failed to tell us he needed a negative PCR Covid test before he could come back to Ledgewood and he ended up staying in the hospital an extra 2 days waiting on test results. Had we known he could have taken the test a couple of days earlier at the hospital and been able to come home when discharged. This they need to work on. Still, I highly recommend Ledgewood Bay.

Im so grateful for all the help and compassion my family received as we transitioned my mother in law into an assisted living lifestyle. I was instantly impressed by the cleanliness of the facility along with the bright and cheery decor. My mother in law enjoys the food and the kind staff very much. She enjoys her room but also likes book club, crafts and her shopping jaunts traveling on the Ledgewood van.Our family wasnt sure if she would like living there because she is a very independent person. We couldnt be more pleased with how well and quickly she has embraced this major life style change. Thank you to all the Ledgewood Bay staff and a special thank you to Michelle LaBelle. She has been such a Blessing in the process.

After living alone for nearly 10 years, mom needed a safer community where she could still have the ability to socially interact with others. We were fortunate to find this Assisted Living facility nearby. After a lifetime of independence, mom was concerned that she’d lose her freedom, but the team at Ledgewood Bay have been tremendously supportive and are able to provide a setting that doesn’t feel constraining to her, allaying those fears (and misconceptions). They take a team approach, engaging both staff and residents to assist with mom’s “on-boarding”. They also have a very active daily agenda with live entertainment (even an Elvis sighting!), socializing, games, movies, and other activities to help keep the residents engaged and energized. The staff are compassionate and attentive to mom’s needs, especially to include her in her new community. The meals are well thought out and enjoyable, with flexible seatings and snacks at any time. Mom seems to be adjusting well, and we are grateful to have her in a safe comfortable setting where she can thrive again.

We couldn't have brought my wife to a better place. The staff, the nurses, the nurses assistants are all first class. The whole community couldn't be more friendly or helpful. The rooms are spacious, and the dining room and food is A 1. My family and I highly recommend Ledgewood Bay.

My mom recently moved to Ledgewood in early April and it has been a great experience so far. The staff moved mountains to help me get her in as quickly as possible and it is only now that I appreciate how lucky we were to be able to have that kind of help and support. It was not easy, but they did everything possible to help us make the transition go smoothly. Now that she has been there for a couple of months, she is very happy and well-cared for. I feel like the staff really knows her. She loves the activities, the other residents and the food. I stop in at many different times of the day and I am always impressed that both the staff and the residents always seem happy. If anything comes up, the staff is very responsive and helpful. My mom is actually doing so much better now that her medicine is being administered by the medical-technicians which has made a big difference in her health. This transition was one that we thought about for a long-time before making a decision. It is a decision we are very glad we made.

When you are blessed to have your senior loved ones still with you, and you want to find a safe, clean and very caring home for them, come see Ledgewood Bay in Milford. My parents moved here as a couple in August, the staff have been very attentive, friendly & compassionate with their transition. They are all extremely dedicated & hardworking. This environment has given a new quality of life to my folks.

My mother is 96 years old and has lived there for 6 years, she loves it and has many friends. But now we've run into a problem, They are sending me an eviction notice saying that she needs more care then they can give her, she is almost blind and deaf. I realize she needs nursing home care but after calling 33 nursing homes no one has any room for her, she is on a waiting list but it could take two years to place her. So my problem is they tell me I have to get her out within 30 and if I can't (which I can't) they will extend the time another two weeks. They can't kick her out with no place to go but they tell me they will call in the state to remove her and they could put her anyplace no matter how far away it is. They claim its not safe for her to stay there and its against state law to keep her. In my opinion I think its because she is now on medicaid. Now that all her money is gone and they have to accept medicare, get her out so they can give her room to someone that will be private pay. I know she needs care but if there is no room then there is no room. I will be calling a lawyer in the morning and see exactly what our rights are in this matter. Would like to revise my previous review. I am changing it now to a five star because these people have worked with me and we have come up with a satisfactory plan. They have suggested moving her downstairs to the memory unit where she'll get the extra care she needs. They are even moving her furniture and all her personal things from her regular room to the memory care unit. Her doctor has ordered a hospital bed for her and when everything is ready she'll be transported from the hospital back to her home. I want to thank everyone for helping the family to do whats best for our mother. Thank You

My dad lived there and the staff took very good care of him, until I had to move him, due to medical reasons. Once he left there, he never received good care after that, until I was able to move him to the NH Veterans Home in Tilton. They take really good care of our Vets. If Dad hadn't started having problems, he would have stayed at Ledgewood. Yes I would recommend this facility.
