Reviews Langdon Place of Exeter
April 2026
After visiting several facilities in the area for our mother, we determined that Langdon Place of Exeter would be the best fit. Denise Petty, Director of Marketing, helped our mother to feel welcomed from the first meeting. The focus on veterans was especially important as both our mother and father were veterans. The nursing staff on the third floor where she lived were kind and very caring. They helped her to navigate the building, as she was legally blind and build up her confidence to move around by herself. Our mother was a picky eater, and concerned about the food offerings, but she quickly proclaimed about how good the food was. The maintenance staff were quick to respond to any needs in her apartment. Having a company that offered occupational and physical therapy was a plus and and option that she used. We were so relieved that our mother had a safe and caring environment in which to live.

I have a parent at Langdon. Their apartment is roomy. I like that there is a nurse station on each floor that is staffed 24 hours a day. There is PA that visits at least once a week for those that need/want care, although a staff nurse can monitor BP or draw samples to be sent for lab testing as needed. The facility is close to Exeter Hospital and there are many medical offices for those who wish to establish primary or dental care outside the facility. There is a Labcorp office across the driveway. There is a beautiful pool that honestly, my grandchildren use and love. There is a monthly activities newsletter that I also receive by email, so I know there are plenty of things to do. The staff is very friendly and they seem to know all the residents by name. Langdon Place is not large with a total assisted living population of under 100 residents. Pets are allowed for those with furry companions. There are events around the holidays where family are invited in to partake in an Aperitivo with light finger food, or sometimes a dinner. My mother is a vegetarian and there are choices for her at mealtime although it could be a little better. I understand the dining staff are working on this aspect of Langdon life. The price here includes all meals. The monthly fee is reasonable, especially when considering other local options. For residents that still drive there are assigned parking spaces for their car. The driveway and parking lot is kept clear all through winter. There is a shuttle bus that takes residents to shop or to outside activities. While Exeter has a lot to offer, Seabrook and Epping are within 15 minutes away for more expansive choices. These are the places I take my mother to shop. All in all, my siblings and I are happy to have found Langdon Place-Exeter. Aside from the items mentioned, it is close for me and other family members, so we can visit regularly. I would recommend Langdon Place without hesitation.

We have been very happy with Moms experience at Langdon. She has a number of issues and has been advised with promptness and kindness. Having all her meals made for her is a Godsend as her sight is deteriorating. The staff listens to her ideas. For example, now there is a group to help welcome new residents. She loves the Happy Hour days when she can make it. Its a great time to visit and chat and she is a people person! We are excited to hear that live-streaming church might be coming. The staff has been wonderful , open and ready to help meet everyone’s individual needs. That’s a monumental task so thank you all!!

My mother and father moved into Langdon Place of Exeter a few years ago. At first my parents were very nervous and apprehensive about moving from their long-term family home. However, the staff at Langdon Place of Exeter were very welcoming and supportive and made the transition for my parents very smooth and comfortable. My parents realized very quickly that it was the right move for them. They felt secure knowing that the staff of Langdon would be helping them with any need that came up. My parents have been very happy there and now looks ta the Langdon staff as dear friends. The nurses and rehab staff helped for my mother to walk more and become more active (and happy). My mother face lights up whenever they are there. I personally feel my parents are having a happier, less stressful and fuller life at Langdon. They did not socialize or do any activities previously whereas at Langdon they are. My brothers and I are also very happy knowing the staff at Langdon are looking out for them. I give Langdon Place of Exeter five stars. Thanks Bob DeBenedetto

Mom moved to Langdon about a year and a half ago. The pool was a major draw and she has enjoyed the pool exercise class. The staff has been very supportive of mom and is always available to answer any questions I may have. Langdon has a very homey feel when you walk in and it’s been a great fit for mom. If you are looking for a community where you can transition from independent living I would recommend you check out Landon Place of Exeter.

My father has lived in Langdon Place of Exeter for just shy of 3 years. Not being from the area, we found Denise and the staff very friendly and accommodating. It is hard to meet new people, but dad knows everyone. They truly care for all his needs. I love seeing the posts on social media, seeing so many good events. Dad takes advantage of the bus, which is helpful when we cannot take him to an appointment or to the store. He is in a safe home, which gives us all peace of mind.

Langdon Place in Exeter has been truly exceptional for our family. My mom is in memory care there, and navigating Alzheimer’s is something most families are never truly prepared for until they are living it day to day. The staff at Langdon genuinely understands this and supports not just the resident, but the entire family. They have been amazing in helping my mom manage the daily changes that come with Alzheimer’s, always with patience, compassion, and dignity. The care team knows each resident as an individual and consistently knows what is going on with everyone, which brings an incredible amount of comfort and peace of mind. The facility is always clean, welcoming, and well run. My mom is well cared for, well fed, and treated with kindness and respect. It is very clear that the staff is attentive, well trained, and truly invested in the people they care for. As a family member, it means everything to know that your loved one is safe, supported, and understood. Langdon Place has exceeded our expectations in every way, and I am truly grateful for the care they provide every single day!
January 2026
My mother was very excited to move into Langdon Place, largely because she loved to swim and the pool was a major selling point. What we were not told was that residents need at least three people present to use the pool, which made it essentially inaccessible for her. Although exercise classes were offered, swimming was what she truly wanted. In the year she lived there, she used the pool only three times. Langdon Place markets itself well, but once you are there, the focus feels more financial than personal. When it became clear that my mother needed slightly more help than the average resident, they were quick to remove her without helping us find another placement. I would encourage families to look for a facility that prioritizes individual care over profit..

The staff at Langdon Place of Exeter is wonderful!
June 2025
When our family was forced to make the difficult decision that our loved one needed far more care than our family could provide for her Memory issues we researched many places. It was the kindness, patience, time and care that Director Denise Petty and her staff spent with our family walking us through step by step! Denise was in constant communication with our family, reassuring us we would all be ok. It tugs at your heartstrings when you need to move your loved ones out of their home. The guilt, the sadness, the pain and ultimately the relief. Knowing our loved one is loved and cared for by all staff at Langdon Place Memory Care Unit has provided our family with peace of mind. The nursing staff, the activity staff, the cooks, the nursing assistants-EVERYONE at Langdon Place IS AMAZING!! Langdon Place is a blessing for our family as they are providing the professional and loving care for our beloved Aunt !’
June 2025
This is a wonderful facility, and my parents have had a great experience here. The staff are extremely caring and professional, and the entire staff team from the kitchen to the activities to nursing staff make this a comfortable home and community. I would not hesitate to recommend Langdon. My mom and dad moved in several years ago but my mom passed 6 years ago. My dad continues to receive excellent care. I know he is safe and enjoys the friends he has there and the entire community.

There aren't enough words of praise and appreciation to express our family's gratitude to Langdon Place for the care they provide for our mother and everyone there. The staff went above and beyond to care for and protect their residents just recently with a viral outbreak. Many many thanks to all who took on extra duties during a most difficult time. - Jeri Murphy Fitzgibbons

My father began living at Langdon Place almost two months ago. We had the usual trepidations about moving an elderly person from his long time abode to a residential facility. We were assured by the staff, particularly Denise Petty, that we had nothing to fear and that my father would get excellent care. The transition went very smoothly in large part due to the efforts of Denise and Sue Caldwell, who is a nurse like no other. Medications were coordinated with former providers and medical personnel as well as treatments for chronic conditions. We could not ask for better care and follow through. We worried about my father's reaction to the food because like many elderly people, he likes what he likes. He tells us whenever we visit that he likes the food and looks forward to eating with his table mates. Having congenial table mates is another plus. I know the staff made concerted effort to find men that would be compatible. My father has received excellent physical therapy and occupational therapy services and participates in exercise classes twice per week. These have all proven to be very beneficial. I have nothing but positive things to say about Langdon. My father has opportunities to socialize as much as he would like and his many needs are met. We could not be more pleased.

My mother has never been happier. She says everyone is kind and helpful and they make sure she has what she needs.

Thank You Denise!

My father was at Langdon Place of Exeter for a 1.5 month respite stay. I cannot say enough about the wonderful care and compassion he received during his visit. Everyone went the extra mile, from the chef to the housekeeping services. Not just in what they did for him, but how they treated him with respect and a genuine interest in getting to know him. Their communication to families is incredibly thoughtful, including open forum zoom calls, and highly responsive admissions, nurses, and any staff member I reached out to. Zero hesitation in recommending this facility for the short or long term!
