RUN AWAY. Bathing isn't something they support in memory care. As such ring worm, scabies are a few of the fun filled experiences that one can expect living in this hell hold. Do not recommend you put somebody here unless you have a score to settle with your loved one.

Concerns Regarding Care and Communication at Brighton Gardens I am writing to share feedback regarding our family’s experience at Brighton Gardens. While there were positive aspects of our experience, particularly with certain staff members, we encountered several significant concerns related to cost, care delivery, and communication. First, we found the overall pricing to be substantially higher than comparable assisted living communities in the Raleigh area. The base assisted living rate began at approximately $7,000 per month and increased to nearly $10,000 within a year. In addition, charges for supplemental care services”such as two assisted showers per week”were considerable. Despite these added costs, the agreed-upon care plan was not always consistently followed. To ensure accountability and appropriate care delivery, we felt it necessary to install an in-room Ring camera and ultimately hire an outside aide to visit weekly to maintain appropriate personal hygiene standards. We also experienced ongoing challenges with communication and responsiveness. It was often difficult to identify the appropriate point of contact for obtaining the current medication administration list or for addressing questions regarding care. Emails and text messages sometimes went unanswered. In several interactions with members of the management team, I felt that my concerns were met with dismissiveness rather than collaborative problem-solving, which was disappointing. That said, I would like to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by some individual staff members. In particular, Freida in the dining facility consistently demonstrated kindness and attentiveness, often assisting my loved one to the elevator after meals. These positive personal connections were meaningful and appreciated. We hope this feedback will be taken seriously and used to improve care consistency, communication practices, and overall accountability. Families entrust assisted living communities with the wellbeing of those they love, and clear communication and reliable care delivery are essential to maintaining that trust.

I have multiple family members in your care and would/cannot recommend your facility. You are unable to follow written and legal protocols, unable to performs assisted living requirement and change what you are willing to do based on the level of laziness or lack of training on the current staff. Your requirement to provide basics are neglected in your care. Hire better, train better, and overall do better for the care of these people entrusted to you. Do better Brighton gardens.
July 2025
I recently had to place my wife at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh, where she spent the last six months of her life receiving end-of-life care. During that time, she was treated with kindness by a skilled and compassionate staff who clearly cared about her well-being. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist and everyone who greeted me made me and my family feel welcome. They consistently showed a genuine interest in how we were doing, which meant a great deal to us. No place is perfect all the time. There were moments when her attendants were clearly overwhelmed with too many calls, but they always came through”taking care of her needs, changing her diapers, clothes, and sheets, and even handling her laundry. Somehow, she was always dressed and put together every morning”it was a mystery to me who did it, but it was always done with care and dignity. I looked hard to find things that were wrong, but in the end, Brighton Gardens of Raleigh provided a level of care far better than I could have managed on my own, or even with a team hired to care for her at home. There was very little staff turnover during her stay, and when staffing was tight, they were able to pull support from other facilities”something I truly appreciated. It’s important to visit your loved one and to have others visit when you can’t, but I always felt confident that my wife was in good hands. She was happy there and often complimented the people who cared for her. I am deeply grateful to Brighton Gardens for giving her the care and comfort she deserved.

My mother lived at Brighton Gardens for 3 years. The staff taking care of her were all lovely. Jewilus Stephens, Princess Burton, Tanya Thomas, Shemeka Jackson, Sharon Burnett, Crystal Brown, Haley Poole and Angela Lane were Angels. Pam Howell was ALWAYS so welcoming when we visited and Tawana "Tee" Wells made sure mother got served a good lunch. Sylvia Alvarez kept her room ALWAYS neat and clean. These precious people became like family to us. The NEW General Manager, Audrey called after my mother passed to send her condolences. Love to all these special people who helped care and love our mother, Steve and Joette Woodall

They appear to always be short staffed and it’s difficult to find the correct person to talk to for help. The management does appear to be out of touch with the operations. I know they’ve had issues with turnover which causes a great deal of concern. Hopefully the new director will be able to turn things around. This is why I posted a 3 instead of lower because I have hope in her.

Nice location with a friendly staff.

My client has been a resident here for over nine months. In that time, she has shown remarkable improvement in her strength, thanks to the excellent physical and occupational therapies she receives. The staff of Brighton Gardens are friendly, caring, and compassionate towards residents and their families. My client's apartment is always clean and tidy since the housekeeping staff do a great job. The food is very good; there are several options on the menus for residents to choose from. There are daily activities offered which give residents an opportunity to socialize and enhance their motor skills, as well as provide mental stimulation. The grounds are beautiful and are maintained regularly. When working in this facility, I feel like I'm among family. It is a very warm, fun and comfortable atmosphere.

My father has been. At BG for a month now. I could not be happier the care the aides have given him. Bed baths 1 sometime twice a day. He loves the soups, he loves it so much they bring him two! I would like to send praise to Angela and Callena, they have been very attentive.

The grounds are well kept. The facility is clean. The staff was nice and seemed to care about the residents. They have activities for the residents. They seemed to be well taken care of. My client's room was clean. I would recommend this facility.

Great facility, great food, caring staff!

This place was our choice for my dad because we were told it was a place he could live out his days. This didn’t turn out to be the case. The handful of amazing employees couldn’t cover for the general lack of empathy that started from the top and trickled down to others. Parkinson’s is complicated. Ultimately, BG lacked the knowledge & expertise to make good on the original promises. Interact with other families that you see visiting the facility and ask them for direct, candid feedback as you make your choice of where your loved one will live. Ask them about professionalism, expertise, empathy, and the experience your loved one should expect. Or reach out and ask me for more thoughts

I am so grateful to all of the staff at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh. They are very knowledgeable in how to transition new residents into the community. They worked with my mother in many ways and even during the pandemic she received the best possible care. Her memory issues even improved with the therapy she received.
