Have a family member at Abbotswood and live close by. The staff, with low turnover, has been excellent: responsive, communicative, proactive and professional. The facility is always clean and well-maintained. Abbotswood is well run and cares for its residents.

Abbottswood is the perfect size: small enough that the staff and residents know each other but large enough to be able to offer a range of activities and a good dining service. Some assisted living facilities have a nursing wing or a memory care wing. At Abbottswood, residents stay in their apartment and receive whatever extra care they might need in their apartment. This helps avoid the stigma of needing extra care and avoids a stressful move when a senior begins to struggle with an issue or two.

I can’t think of a better place for my grandmother to have spent the final few years of her life. We all talk often of how grateful we were that we chose Abbottswood because she was in such good hands, especially over the past year as we had to navigate COVID. Even when the community restricted visitation for the safety of the guests, we knew she was in good hands and were glad to have the team at Abbottswood looking out for her. It truly felt like she was “home” and being cared for by extended family.

My mother has lived at Abbotswood for over 5 years. The administration and staff are excellent and really care about the residents. The past year has been difficult for congregate living facilities, but Abbotswood has handled things as well as anyone could (and better than most), including providing considerable COVID testing to keep everyone safe. I really cannot say enough about the efforts to keep the residents engaged, for example, by bringing craft projects to their apartments and utilizing the television to air special programs. Thank you to David Sexton for his considerable efforts to protect the residents and his many emails keeping families up to date and thank you to Connie, Hannah and the many others who have been so kind to us and my mother over the years.

My mother, Susan Nelson, recently had an issue in her apartment that left her displaced for a short period. David Sexton and Emily Johnson went above and beyond in every way to make sure she was taken care of. David and Emily both went out of their way even when they werent working to take her medications and to follow up with her. Their level of care and true compassion for their work and the residents is very rare and extremely appreciated. Thank you for everything you did for my mother and for our family to help us during that difficult time!

Among the most enjoyable years of my mothers life were the ones she spent at Abottswood in Raleigh. Before helping her to move there from Florida, we researched several Raleigh sites, selecting Abottswood for excellent facilities and activities, and even better staff. Abottswood exceeded our expectations, enabling mom to be very active, engaged, and healthy. Highly recommended.

Kudos to the entire staff and management team at Abbotswood. Thanks to the tireless ongoing support exemplified by Kathy and the crew for looking after Mom in a caring and compassionate way. As I havent met everyone, I can only send a shout-out to a few although each and every team player deserves our gratitude. Kathy, Tracy, Tamara, Larry, Curtis, Dan, Scotty, Donna and numerous others really make Abbotswood what it is today. I have lived at Abbotswood at Stonehenge for over four years and I am able to say that it is a wonderful place to live. I am very active (but you dont have to be) they take us to shop, to lunch, to medical appointments,and to various activities of interest. Best of all, the staff is outstanding, often going above and beyond their regular jobs to help and provide friendship to residents. The building is .clean and attractive.I am very happy here!!!

My mom has been at Abbotswood at Stonehenge for 4 years. All of the employees are professional, courteous, and informative. I moved to Arizona about a year ago, and with my mom living at Abbotswood, it gave me the peace of mind to be able to move. I know she is in great hands while I am away. The amenities are great! The transportation provided for doctors appointments two days per week are a blessing. My mom is legally blind and she (nor I) feel comfortable with her taking a taxi. Now she does not have to. I also recently moved her from an upstairs apartment to downstairs with a patio. I find she is getting outside more, going to more classes and events, and going on more field trips. She can go shopping, to the grocery store, and on joy rides, all provided by Abbotswood. I can not say enough good things about this location. The staff always treat her like family! Five stars, but if I could give more I would! Thank you Abbotswood at Stonehenge!

This is the place for your mom or dad. As both a daughter and a professional in the senior advocacy field, I love Abbotswood for the warm feel, the staff, the food, the car, the quality and the atmosphere. Taste the food, see the rooms, read in the library, be greeted by the warmest staff (staff that have been there for years!). My mom passed away five years ago and had lived her last nine months at Abbotswood, allowing she and I to enjoy each other and not worry constantly about her care. I recently visited Abbotswood and the receptionist remembered me. Five years later.....This is the place for your mom.

My Mother has lived at Abbottswood for 13 years, and loves it. From her entry at age 82, when she was very active in crafts, events and resident council, until now she has had a great experience.
