Arbor Landing at Hampstead was a very good choice for my dad. The staff genuinely cares for residents even coming to visit when he had to move to assisted living. It’s a beautiful facility and well-maintained. Nichole and team do a great job.

Anyone seeking a safe, beautiful environment for a loved one should consider Arbor Landing Retirement facility. The inviting entrance and fabulous decor throughout is not an empty "lure" to gain the approval of prospective clients. It is a testament to the high level of care offered by this facility. Most notably, the security practices are thorough. There is a greeter at the front door where visitors sign in. Random walk-ins are not free to roam the corridors at will. The memory care wing has a secured entry and a bell to gain access. The bell is answered promptly. In that wing, staff is always present while residents enjoy the large screen television or the secured outdoor area. Also, the staff interacts consistently with the residents through conversation, story telling, games, etc. At meal time, food is not "plopped" on a medical overbed table in the resident's room as though they were in a hospital. All the residents eat in a community environment. The daily fares are tastefully served in a pleasant atmosphere, similar to a "nice" restaurant. One added perk... There is a very special "overseer" on site daily who offers residents companionship and unconditional love. His name is Rhett Butler! No, not the debonaire character of legend, but a highly trained emotional support dog. He helps encourage social interaction and promotes mental and physical health. What a joy! Interestingly, Arbor Landing does not cost as much as some subpar facilities available in Wilmington and vicinity! Be sure to put it high on your list of considerations! Thanks to the dedicated staff of Arbor Landing who touch the hearts of residents and guests alike!

I had the privilege of visiting this facility in December for a craft show. The facility is very nice. I also visited the Memory Care Unit in which all the staff was exceptionally great in the interaction with all visitors and residents.

When faced with relocating our Mom, following our Dad's passing, we chose Arbor Landing @ Hampstead. Although Mom relies on a wheelchair, she doesn't require assistance with daily tasks. After close to 3 years, I can honestly say that Arbor Landing was the right choice for us. The facility is always immaculate and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being of all residents. If and when issues arise, management responds quickly to find solutions that are satisfactory to all. Thank you, Arbor Landing.

My father has been at Arbor Landing for about 3 months now. The folks there have been wonderful. It is a great environment with caring people. It was hard to for us since Dad really did not want to move from his home, but it was time, and the folks at Arbor Landing have really helped with the transition.

My mistake. I spoke with Nicole and it was on the calendar as a Veterans Talk. Wish I would have understood that is was an honoring of Veterans. I definitely need to ask more questions. Communication lacks at Arbor Landing Hampstead. I picked my father up today for a dentist appointment and found a note on his walker that there was a veterans celebration at the same time as his appointment. There was no notification of this activity. Not on the activity calendar. Not on his door ahead of time. Not an email. I could have changed the appointment. So sad. Communication continues to be a challenge for Arbor Landing Hampstead and RidgeCare. Luckily the assisted service provider, New Estuary, picks up the slack. Their staff is amazing. Don’t know what I would do if they weren’t at Arbor Landing Hampstead

Arbor Landing of Hampstead is breathtaking upon walking in. It definitely feels and looks luxurious and the residents should feel proud of where they live. What is even more important is that the Executive Director here truly has a passion for being the leader of this community. Nichole Wood has spent years and years in the industry and has always put people first and has even been seen working night shifts providing hands on care assisting with the care of residents throughout her years in the role. She will do whatever it takes to put these residents and the staff first! So not only is this facility one with looks well worth the money but also has the heart that makes it a forever home!

My wife has been in memory care at a facility I n another state for 5 years. They did a good job of caring for but were not as family friendly as we would have liked. After moving to Surf City I moved her to Arbor Landing. I wish I could have moved her when they first opened. The level of care here is significantly better than our previous experience. Communications with me are vastly better and the family support from the entire staff is outstanding. I am so happy I found Arbor Landing.

My Mom has been there since May. It's very well appointed. It's always clean and the staff treats the residents with respect. They have fun activities and provide excellent care when needed while allowing independent living.

The staff are wonderful. Rooms are spacious and food is good. Rent includes cleaning and laundry, as well as meals. While most of the facility is designed for independent living, assistance is available at several levels for graduated costs. The memory care unit is phenomenal. nuf said. I would recommend anyone looking for a new retirement home to tour Arbor Landing at Hampstead after you have seen the others and compare.

If you are considering Ridge Care’s Horizons Memory Care at Arbor Landing in Hampstead, NC for your loved one PLEASE READ. Horizons kicked my mother out at the end of her life and under hospice care because she could not stand, pivot, or assist with a transfer. She was in such bad shape the only place that would take her was a nursing home one hour away from the closest relative. She died 16 days later. We were told numerous times this is an “age in place facility and she could stay there until the end of her life.” This was a lie. Arbor Landing’s Horizon Care is a one person assist facility with no equipment to move people who forget how to walk or are in such bad shape they can’t. Their on-call nurse can come in anytime and deem “their care level has changed” and kick them out. They are also protected by NC regulation laws. Please look elsewhere for your loved one. Many memory care facilities have two person assist and have the equipment and desire to help dementia and Alzheimer’s residents all the way through to the end. 70% of dementia patients lose their ability to walk so please do not let this happen to your loved one. Moving my mom was the most difficult experience of my life as it was hard on her and contributed to her quick decline and death. On moving day we had to physically move our mom ourselves and no one from Horizons helped or said a word. Not even goodbye. Just shameful.

Arbor Landing at Hampstead is incredible! The staff is absolutely amazing. We are new so forgive me if I don’t know everyone by name yet but Devon and Kate stole my heart IMMEDIATELY. Since then I continue to consider mom and I lucky because of the warm and caring likes of other staff as well, like Tabitha, Angie, Janelle..can’t wait to meet the rest of you! Shout out to Mak(mac?) mom loves you.I can’t wait to meet you as well! My mom came to this country from Cuba in 1964. Since then she was in NJ and so the move near me in Wilmington, NC was a huge transition. Not to mention that she is a seriously independent gal which made the transition even more intense. The family at ALH were patient, empathetic, caring and never for a moment lost sight of the fact that this transition will take someone like my mom a little bit of time.
