My sister spent several months at the Sanctuary when she needed 24/7 care. The staff were so accommodating to her many requests and the house itself was so welcoming. They allowed her to garden and participate in cooking as well. An overall fantastic and comforting place for those that need assisted living. Thank you!!
February 2026
Staff and management of The Sanctuary are exceptional. They provided selfish care in a 'home-like' environment enabling residents to maintain dignity and privacy during their time of need. If you are reading this review know that The Sanctuary is more than worthy of your consideration.
February 2026
My mother was a resident at the Sanctuary and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very caring and very observant of my mom. The care she received was individualized. I really enjoyed visiting with my mom. It was like she was living in her home and was being cared for 24/7. My siblings and I were appreciative of the care she received. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Great facility and staff. We looked at 7or 8 other memory care facilities in the Charlotte area before seeing this one. We signed up right away as we did not want to miss out on an opening. The staff was amazing and the 3:1 ratio the best we had ever seen - 3 residents per 1 staff member. We were always kept informed of how my mother was doing and always kept abreast as to any medication being taken or changes requested/needed. The house was always kept immaculate and never did I smell that antiseptic that you smell in the larger facilities. The food was always plentiful and prepared on site. I would look no further. The Sanctuary is a boutique memory care facility with Very attentive and knowledgeable staff.

I’m incredibly grateful for the care my mother received at The Sanctuary (6001 Bismark Pl) during her final chapter of life. Although she was there for a short time, the level of attention, care and compassion she received was truly exceptional. The staff was attentive, competent, dedicated and kind - it’s clear they have a heart for caring for others. It’s rare to find a place where professionalism and a personal touch combine so seamlessly. I highly recommend The Sanctuary to anyone looking for the very best care for their loved ones.

My wife Kathy has been a resident of The Sanctuary since August 2025 and my, and my families' expectations have been exceeded in every aspect of our interactions with the folks who help make 4200 Quail Hunt Ln her home. We love the wonderful folks at The Sanctuary. The staff is professional, loving, dedicated, hard working, kind, and fun to be around. Staff is also sensitive (and sympathetic) to the needs of the residents' family. They are always telling me "We got this!" The Sanctuary is a home and it feels, looks, and smells like one. The aromas of home cooked meals, the cleanliness (which is unbelievable), and the design of the house all contribute to the home feel that is so important. I am at peace knowing that Kathy is safe, well cared for, and loved at The Sanctuary!

The Sanctuary at Cotillion is brand new, warm and inviting! It gives the feel of being in your own home. The staff are all so friendly and kind. They do a great job meeting the residents likes, needs and interests. The caregiver to resident ratio is great! We are thankful to have had the opportunity for our daughter to have a place to stay where she could grow stronger and increase her independence. I highly recommend this home for those who want their loved ones cared for with love and experience. Thank you so much for your care and kindness! Diane Seymour

Jessica, I want to tell you that I am very thankful for our experience at 5111 Allison. Jackie made us feel welcomed from day one and always managed any concerns or needs immediately. Cynthia was very helpful and compassionate and my mother especially liked her. She clearly loves what she does and is a real gem in the house. Lydia was also very helpful and caring and it’s obvious she loves what she does. These three along with the rest of the staff really did a good job caring for my mother and making sure she was safe and comfortable. Thank you for having such a wonderful home for my mother to spend the last months of her life in. Our experience at her previous home was full of stress, unpleasant people and poor care so this home was such a comfort and relief for me at a very difficult time. Best regards, Jennifer Zakutney

"A Truly Caring Home" I recently moved my wife to The Sanctuary from another local memory care facility, and the difference has been incredible. The staff here are kind, attentive, and truly caring ”it feels more like a family than a facility. The caregiver-to-resident ratio is excellent, so my wife gets the attention she needs. She also enjoys the food, which is a big plus! Communication from the team has been consistent and reassuring, making the transition smooth for both of us. I’m so grateful we found this compassionate and well-run community. Highly recommend!
June 2025
After looking at many memory care facilities in the area we were blessed to find The Sanctuary! From the moment we spoke with Jessica to the moment we met the amazing staff we knew our mother would have the best care and it is the best care! They are caring for her whole self . Body and mind. They are constantly engaged in activities and despite suffering with dementia and limited sight the staff is constantly encouraging her to participate. We are fortunate to have found this gem! It allows us the time to be with her and not have to worry about her care! The best ratio of 1:3 staff to resident anywhere we found! The home is beautiful and each resident’s bedroom and bathroom are spacious, nicely appointed and well kept! John and Caroline Berger

My mom moved to Sanctuary in March. The staff made her transistion a positive one. They have gotten to know her and her habits, favorite snacks and preferences. They encourages her involvement in the various activities. It is a calming family enviroment and the care team encourages family involvement & visits. It has been the best decision I could have made.
June 2025
I moved my mother to the Sanctuary a few months ago from a different facility and I only wish I had done it sooner. I finally can feel relaxed that my mom is in good hands and is being cared for. The staff is knowledgeable, warm, capable and patient. The homes are lovely. The food is home cooked and wonderful (my mom has gained a much-needed 7 pounds already!). You really can't go wrong here -- it's been such a blessing.
April 2025
The Sanctuary at Stonehaven 2 was truly a blessing for my mom. The compassion and love for her and our family is beyond measure. Even though she was there for a short time her life was forever changed for the better as well as ours. The team at the Sanctuary is family and truly angels in disguise’! I would highly recommend the Sanctuary for your loved one so that they have the quality of life they deserve. We were blessed to have found them.
March 2025
Our mom was at Sanctuary for almost a year and we could not be more pleased with her care. The staff was incredibly caring and kind. It was always clean, friendly, very homelike. They treated her as I would have treated her. Her great-granddaughter would visit several times a week and had full run of the place, which made everyone happy. Perfect place for a mom for her last year. Thank you so much.
March 2025
The Sanctuary was a blessing for my mother”and, in turn, for our entire family. The staff was attentive, compassionate, and dedicated to providing personalized care. What sets it apart is its warm, home-like environment that fosters both comfort and well-being. The excellent caregiver-to-resident ratio ensures individualized attention for residents, along with meaningful engagement with family. If you're seeking a supportive, well-run memory care home for your loved one, I highly recommend The Sanctuary.
January 2025
The Sanctuary was instrumental in providing the conduit for my husband to retain a parent-child relationship. The stress of caretaking being removed from his plate allowed him to focus on simply enjoying time with his father and giving space for a re-establishment of a loving and caring relationship. The Sanctuary was very communicative and empathetic in coordinating care even after he was moved to hospice.
January 2025
The Sanctuary provides compassionate care in a clean and inviting environment. Our mother has been a resident for just over a year and we cannot be more grateful for the care and services she has received. The Sanctuary allows her to maintain a sense of independence in a safe, social and loving home despite her progressing dementia.
December 2024
My experience at sanctuary has been very positive. Roland moved in December 2022. We have been pleased with the house ,his room and staff. We are so pleased that everything is so nice and clean. The staff is wonderful and we could not survive each day without their care. We are very happy!!
July 2024
While my dad was only at The Sanctuary for a few days, he spent the last month in excited anticipation. This brings me great comfort. I was able to wheel him out of his room and give him a brief tour of his gorgeous new home and show him the lovely back yard. Then a guitarist came in and performed, my father smiled and I knew that he loved it. His days were brief, but your staff made him so comfortable and took such good care of him. In gratitude, Alison

From the moment I walked through the door of the Sanctuary at Stonehaven, I knew it was the right place for my mom. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2021. As the disease took hold, she expressed her growing fear of a time when she would no longer be able to stay in her home. In January 2024, that time came after she suffered a second stroke. I had read about the concept of sanctuary homes in Dr. Atul Gawande’s book Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End. He described the concept of sanctuary homes as a different model of dementia care; one that transcends mere provision of medical care to emphasize quality of life and overall well-being. At the Sanctuary at Stonehaven, the isolation, anxiety, and sense of dread mom suffered have disappeared. Ms. Beverly and all the wonderful staff demonstrate compassion - not just for my mom, but for our family. Meals are home-style and my mom, who had been isolated and suspicious at home, now looks forward to going to the table to be with the people she calls my friends. The Sanctuary at Stonehaven has restored in mom a sense of joy, and in us, that mom is living a life as rich and full as possible under the circumstances. I am forever grateful to the Sanctuary at Stonehaven for providing such a warm and nurturing environment for my mom. Knowing she is in such good hands gives our family immense peace of mind. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the best care out there for their loved ones.

I was my father’s caregiver for the last 4 years. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 17 years ago and my siblings and I have been keeping a close eye on the progressive disease to ensure that if we needed to move him out of independent living and into assisted living, we could do so swiftly with the least amount of damage. That did not happen. He entered advanced stages of dementia earlier this year and it happened so quickly that the next step of our plan had to be executed just as quickly. We moved him into a facility that had great (but older) reviews and just as quickly as we got him in there, we wanted to move him out immediately. That’s when we heard of The Sanctuary. My sibling was able to network with those who had loved ones that have been cared for by The Sanctuary and every concern we brought to them was easily assuaged. My sister and I learned from our previous experience to observe the staff and residents as much as we could, and we were presented with an opportunity to do so. The environment was calm and peaceful. The staff seemed at ease and content to be working there. The resident we chatted with had assistance from one of the nurses. The nurse was able to tell us about the residents interests, life and family. She had also been reading a book with her when we came in. If you are unfamiliar with assisted living facilities, then you should know that a staff member having the time to read to a resident or being intimately familiar with a residents life down to knowing their family members names and being able to tell us about their life is uncommon. That is exactly what you want for your loved one. I couldn’t even get the prior facility to properly administer the medication and services my father needed. When we moved him in to the previous assisted living, management nudged other residents to welcome my father. The managers did not greet my father, and I was so disappointed that I called my siblings and begged them to reconsider our initial choice to move him into that facility (we had already had so many communication issues as it was). He has been at the Sanctuary for two and a half months. He was at the previous facility for 3 weeks. We wanted him out sooner but we were waiting for an open spot at The Sanctuary. From the moment we started talking to The Sanctuary, we never once had to follow up to get answers to our questions. They were ready and waiting for my father’s arrival and had lunch ready for him to eat as well as compliments to shower him. They helped us unpack his belongings, and for the first time in the worst two months I had of being my father’s caregiver, I felt confident about leaving him in good hands. The RCC Jackie loves what she does and loves the residents like they’re her family. It’s all I could want for my father. Being your loved one’s caregiver is not an easy task. In a lot of ways, I’m as anxious over my own father’s wellbeing as I would my own child. The amount of stress I endured with the previous facility caused my hair to fall out, sleepless nights, chest feeling tight 24/7, and lots of crying. If you can learn from my mistake, it will have been worth it to help another person with Dementia/Alzhemiers. I have not once been concerned about my fathers care at The Sanctuary. I have cried out of relief and gratefulness, my hair has been growing back, and I haven’t gotten a single phone call that I need to drop everything to help soothe my father (that happened at the place we had him at previously). My father is less agitated. He can call us on the phone now with assistance. He’s being regularly medicated the way he should be. I know without a doubt that he isn’t missing meals. The staff listens to our concerns and they also take his own concerns seriously. They pay attention to him and encourage him to sing, dance and talk about his areas of interests. I can’t say enough good things about The Sanctuary.

Individualized, personal care with a dedicated and remarkable staff. An industry leader; highly recommend.
June 2024
My dad has been at The Sanctuary for two and a half months now, and I truly can't thank the universe more for aligning and leading us here right when a new location was opening and had vacancies. My dad has had Parkinson's for over 15 years and entered the later stages of dementia at the beginning of this year, leaving me and my sisters scrambling to find appropriate care for him. Soon after beginning a nightmare experience at an assisted living community, we were told about The Sanctuary by an acquaintance, and after doing lots of research we couldn't wait to get him moved over. Even the difference in experience with onboarding was a night and day difference. They made it as easy as possible for us, were highly communicative and accommodating, and accepted my dad with such a warm welcome. It truly was the exact opposite of the experience we had with the assisted living facility he was at previously, and we felt an immediate sense of calm and relief the day we moved him in. The communication and professionalism has only continued throughout the past two months, and any concerns we have are swiftly addressed. My dad has improved so much in the past two months. Of course, he still battles his disease and other illnesses, but his overall demeanor is completely different. He's happier, more talkative and lively. With the amazing nurse to patient ratio, we never have to worry about him getting his medications late or his needs being neglected. The nurses are incredibly sweet and patient, even going so far as to make my dad's favorite cobbler recipe for him. He happily told me yesterday how Jackie made him a delicious smoothie and how he wants to get a crockpot for the house so he can have them try making his favorite chili recipe. It feels so good having actual conversations with my dad again, having him engage with us and talk about things he's excited for. Knowing he has the quality of care anyone would want for their loved one is truly a godsend, and I'm thankful for everyone working at The Sanctuary making it possible.
June 2024
The staff is very helpful, responsive and interactive with the residents. It has the feel and surroundings of a home versus a facility.
June 2024
If you are reading this you know having a loved one in a memory care facility requires constant diligence to ensure their needs are met and they are safe and clean and entertained. In less than two years we moved mother twice. At our wits end after an egregious situation in the last place we happened upon the sanctuary. The aesthetic is lovely, but a chandelier doesn’t take care of your loved one, so I want to highlight what did. The care and genuine love the staff had for residents, the round the clock eyes to ensure the safety, paying attention to what our mother liked and did not. Not everyone wants soup for lunch, and it was no problem to pivot to something else. When mom was ill, they sat with her in her room for days and hand fed her. When she pushed back on bathing they soothed her and got her to bathe. Mom never wanted for anything. We were finally able to relax and trust and even took a trip for the first time in five years! Communications with us was outstanding, it was lovely to know how her day was when we asked, and we’d even hear when we didn’t ask! It’s a fabulous respite. Nothing is perfect but this place came really really close! Sadly mom passed months after moving in, but we believe it is because she was finally able to let go knowing she was safe and with excellent souls around her.
June 2024
We recently moved Mom to the Sanctuary and are thoroughly happy with our decision. We worried a bit at first about whether to make the move because she was okay in her previous assisted living community. But we moved because we didn’t want our mom to be just okay. We want her to have the best possible care available. We have found it at the Sanctuary. The six-resident model is ideal and ensures that individuals receive the care they need and deserve. The Care Team at the Sanctuary is truly exceptional. Their proactive and compassionate approach to caregiving has been a source of comfort and reassurance for us. One night, when Mom was running a low-grade fever, a caregiver went above and beyond her duty, staying beyond her shift until a nurse arrived to assess Mom. This level of dedication and care is what sets the Sanctuary apart. The Sanctuary has not only provided our mom with a safe and comfortable living environment, but it has also significantly improved her quality of life. The spacious and light-filled common spaces and bedrooms, along with their impeccable cleanliness, have made it easy for her to navigate despite her Dementia. She has become more independent, often wheeling herself from the common areas to her room. Her anxiety levels have dropped, and she now enjoys socializing with the caregivers and other residents. We are grateful we’ve had the opportunity to place Mom in such a beautiful home setting. She is happy, and we are happy. An added benefit is that when we visit, we can relax and enjoy just spending time with her.
April 2024
Forget everything you thought you knew about memory care. The Sanctuary is clean, open and well-kept. The staff is kind, knowledgeable about memory care and, most importantly, caring. My mother is at The Sanctuary at Allison (#5) and her being there has put my mind at ease. Making the decision to move a loved one to a memory care environment is hard. It gets harder when you start to visit the facilities that seem to just warehouse elderly patients. Then you visit any of The Sanctuaries and you realize that this is what you’ve been looking for. The meals are home cooked. The environment is like a home, with comfortable chairs and quiet areas to visit with your loved one. I can’t say enough about the staff. They know my mother. They know what she likes and dislikes. They keep me informed if something is off. They treat her like family, and I couldn’t ask for more than that. If you need a place for a loved one, do yourself a favor; call The Sanctuary and schedule a visit. The peace of mind is worth it.
February 2024
The Sanctuary has exceeded my every expectation. After two difficult moves in less than 8 months, we've finally found a place that does it right! The facility is top notch and the caregivers have become and extension of our family. We are grateful to have landed at the Sanctuary.
January 2024
Loving, clean, caring. Exactly what the entire family needed in our last few days. In addition to individualized care, responsive and helpful with all the administrative details. Beautiful sunny rooms in a homey environment. But the best thing is the good humor and great attitudes of all of the staff. Thank you so much for taking care of our entire family.
January 2024
We moved our mom into The Sanctuary after being at a different facility. It has been like night and day. The other facility used temporary staffing services And felt very institutional. The sanctuary feels like home. It feels warm and inviting. The staff truly treats our mother like family. They make wonderful meals for them on site. She no longer is eating bad cafeteria food. I can’t say enough about how positive our experience has been with the Sanctuary. Our mother is no longer anxious and is very peaceful.
September 2023
The Sanctuary has been a blessing! Both my parents have been there for nine months. The attention and care they receive has been superior to the other care options my family has tried. My mother’s attitude did a 180 after arriving, and my father is as well as we can expect. I believe the positive changes are because the Sanctuary feels like a home. The staff smiles and interacts. The bright light, the large yard and the constant flow of visitors creates a lively and positive environment. Family and friends visit frequently due to the easy access and welcoming atmosphere. This was not the case at the other care facilities. I believe the Sanctuary is the finest care option in our area. (Before the Sanctuary, my parents were at a high-end CCRC with 24/7 private caregivers. They also spent a four months in transition at a smaller care facility.)
September 2023
The Sanctuary is a sanctuary for my wife who has dementia and had been in another facility. The Sanctuary is in a residential area and since it is a home, it feels like a home rather than an institution. My wife has told me that she likes it there on numerous occasions. I visit her every day and have a chance to observe how the staff interacts with my wife as well as all the other patients. The employees are compassionate and patient and because of the higher staffing levels have time to comfort the residents. It only took two days for the staff to realize that engaging with my wife calmed her down. In the ten weeks that she has been there, her anti-anxiety medicine as well as her anxiety has been significantly reduced. My confidence in the staff has reduced my anxiety as well. Comfort, care, and compassion are practiced at all times. The management staff is experienced and professional and always has time to keep me updated on my wife's condition.
August 2023
My father has lived at The Sanctuary for two years. The environment reminds me of the home he lived in with my mother and this gives me comfort. The staff love my father and treat him with dignity and respect and provide for all of his needs in a compassionate manner. When I visit Dad, I feel welcomed and supported by the staff and other family members who have loved ones living at The Sanctuary. I have peace of mind knowing that my beloved father is in capable hands.
August 2023
After touring just about everywhere and dealing with home health and then a terrible experience at a facility in the southpark area, we were blessed to find Sanctuary. I cannot say enough about these people. They care for our mother with such love and concern. I am in the healthcare field myself and had lost of hope of finding anywhere that would care for her in the capacity she deserves. Sanctuary has brought peace and calm back to our lives. We are forever grateful for them. Wonderful home, incredible staff and a beautiful life for our mom under their care. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts!
August 2023
I cannot begin to explain how amazing the Sanctuary is. Our experience was above and beyond in every regard. We had a horrible time with three previous facilities with the staffing ratios and overall uncleanliness/smell. I had honestly lost all hope for finding a home like environment for my dad with exceptional care. The Sanctuary goes above and beyond on every level, the staff was extremely caring and actually took the time to understand dementia as a disease separate from the person. The level of compassion and dignity was something that separated The Sanctuary from the other corporate facilities. I had so much peace knowing the staff was caring for my dad especially in the final days. I am forever grateful for finding such a unique place here in Charlotte. You can't go wrong with The Sanctuary; its exceptional.
August 2023
The Sanctuary was highly recommended by local retirement experts that helped us find the best facility for our mother. We felt very lucky to get her into one of their homes in South Charlotte at practically the exact time we needed to make the move. We could not be happier with the facility. It is a beautiful home in a beautiful residential community...and most importantly, the staff is absolutely amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend The Sanctuary!

January 2023
My family and I are extremely pleased with the care my wife is receiving at the Sanctuary. I can’t praise Deyonne enough. What a gem! She’s an outstanding caregiver and truly interested in making sure my wife gets the care and attention she needs. I’m also impressed by the cleanliness at the Sanctuary. My wife’s bed is made every day and her room is always clean, with no dirty linens left around. When I started looking for a care home for my wife I was told the Sanctuary was the gold standard. Now, having seen the high level of care they give first hand, I believe that’s true. I don’t think there is a better care home in Charlotte.
December 2022
My mother has lived at the Sanctuary for 18 months after a short stint at a Memory Care facility. Thawasi and her staff provide exceptional care and support to the residents and their families. There are no words to express the amount of gratitude we have for the Sanctuary. Thanks Lev!
December 2022
I moved my mother here 6 months ago and I could not be more pleased. I kept her at home as long as I could, then moved her to a facility, which didn’t work out. There just simply was not enough staff to care for the residents. I was looking for better care in a home environment and I am so thankful I found The Sanctuary. She is well cared for 24 hours a day. It’s like a family. All of the staff are friendly, attentive and really care about the residents. No more sleepless nights worrying about her. I can’t thank The Sanctuary staff enough for taking such wonderful care of my mother. I highly recommend it.
June 2022
The Sanctuary has been a godsend for my mother and myself. I sleep peacefully knowing she is well taken care of by the staff. I am so grateful she gets to live in such a wonderful environment where people take such great care of her. The staff truly care for the residents as if they are their own family. I cannot thank them enough for all they do!
February 2022
My company Creative Connections Music Therapy loves visiting the residents at each of the Sanctuary houses! The Sanctuary is a wonderful place! The staff genuinely care about the residents and make sure they are taken care of. The houses are beautiful and really feel like a home instead of a facility. They provide many activities, therapy, and programming for residents to participate in. I would recommend The Sanctuary for anyone looking for great care for their loved one!

Moving my Mom to the Sanctuary was the best choice I could have made. Being a small group home setting gives her the attention and care she wasn't getting from the largest chain facility in the country. The staff is truly caring, engages the residents to enrich their day, and provides activities for physical and mental stimulation to make the residents feel welcome and safe. I'm their biggest advocate.

Our nonprofit ministry Bunny Blessings absolutely loves visiting The Sanctuary at Stonehaven locations! Each place provides such a lovely home-like atmosphere and the residents are clearly well-cared for with attention to their personal needs and schedules. The small settings allows the friendly staff to provide for the residents in special ways and they are very in tune with the residents. It’s certainly an amazing concept and we love it!

My mother has been at Sanctuary 3 for almost two years. The care and compassion that Deyonne and her staff have shown my mom, as well as my dad and our family is beyond wonderful! They truly care about their residents and the families. The house is newly renovated and absolutely lovely. The bedrooms are large and nicely decorated and each has its own private handicap-accessible bathroom. Lev and his team do a wonderful job managing the property while looking out for the well being of staff and residents. We are so grateful to have my mom there!!

Our mother has been a resident at The Sanctuary for 18 months. The residence, the care and the staff are all outstanding. We are very happy that our mother is so well taken care of. The Sanctuary at Stonehaven is a blessing for Mom and our family.

My mother has been at the Sanctuary for about 6 months and has settled in nicely. She is very happy there and tells me all the time how nice the staff are to her. Whenever i visit, she is always showered, dressed well and comfortable. They play games and try to keep her busy. I would highly recommend the Sanctuary for a loved one. I trust that they are keeping her safe and happy.

My wife has been a resident of Sanctuary III for 18 months. I have been very pleased with the care that my wife has received. The interior of the residence is always clean and the exterior is well cared for and with the walk ways and deck lends itself to outside visits. However, by far the biggest asset of Sanctuary III is the amazing staff of well trained professional care givers. They are very patient with the residents and are extremely caring and loving. In my case and I am sure in most cases it is a very difficult decision to place a loved one in such a residence. My family and I could not be more pleased with our decision to have our wife, mother and grandmother be cared for at Sanctuary III.

The best option available in Charlotte for dementia care. Great staff, great setting and great caregiver to resident ratio. I've been through this with both parents and have explored all the options. I wish I had found The Sanctuary earlier.

The Sanctuary provided a safe haven for our entire family at truly a low point in my mother-in-law's struggle with Alzheimer's disease. We found ourselves at the point where the disease had progressed enough that she needed more intensive care, but she was not recognizing the changes herself. The staff, Lev, and Jessica created a safe place for my husband's mother to live as independently as she was able and adjusted, almost imperceptibly, her care as she was less able to care for herself. They were respectful of her wishes and ours and maintained close contact with us about her care and her changing needs. We can recommend the Sanctuary without reservation. She got the care she needed, the compassion she deserved, and the comfort she required. We are grateful that the last ten months of her life were spent in an environment that felt like a home with meals prepared with love every day, her own room and bathroom, and a beautiful deck from which to enjoy the sun on her face and the sounds of children playing.

My mother has been a resident now for two months. Couldn't imagine any place any better.

The staff is excellent; caring, attentive, and responsible. It's quite comforting to know your loved one is receiving the best care possible, and is safe, calm, clean and loved.

The Sanctuary at Stonehaven has been such a blessing for our Mom. After some not-so-pleasant experiences at previous places, we have been grateful for the caregiver attention she has received. She has been eating better and become much stronger since moving into the home. They have encouraged her independence and she has began walking with a walker again after being wheelchair bound for the last few months. The owner, caregivers and staff have all been great at providing communication and updates to us and we are at ease knowing she is being taken care of in a way she deserves.

The Sanctuary was a sanctuary for my husband and for me. From the day he became a resident of The Sanctuary he was treated with respect and dignity even when times were difficult. The kindness that was shown to him and to me will be always remembered.

I come to the homes to provide music for the residents. The homes are so nice and the staff to resident ratio means they get a lot of personal attention. They also provide activities to keep residents engaged.I highly recommend these homes.

We simply can’t say enough about how we love the care provided to our mom at the Sanctuary. It truly is everything anyone could ask for. The staff provide outstanding, loving care. The meals are homemade and delicious and resident’s favorites are made daily. This is the first time our family felt confident that our mom was happy, safe, and well looked after in every way.

I was seeking a home for a dear friend who has early onset Alzheimer's Disease. I couldn't imagine placing her in a large nursing home or memory care center. I was so happy when I discovered The Sanctuary at Stonehaven. These homes are in a beautiful neighborhood where I lived previously. They are residential homes that have been beautifully retrofitted to accommodate the unique needs of ALZ residents. There are no more than six residents per home with two staff members. Meals on cooked onsite and the team work hard to make holidays special and to keep the residents engaged. I know the team by name and they were extremely helpful and patient as we worked through helping my friend get acclimated to her new home. They communicate regularly via text or phone call. I highly recommend The Sanctuary if you are seeking an intimate setting with high quality care and a low staff to resident ratio. Couldn't be more pleased.

My mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in her early 60's. My mother has been living in the sanctuary since May 2020. The entire experience has been remarkably supportive and reassuring thanks to the amazing staff at The Sanctuary. I was initially very nervous about moving my mother away from me and her home, but the owners and staff made this emotional transition very smooth. Each resident has their own room and bathroom. I was able to have pictures of our family set up in my mother's room. The staff is diligent about keeping me up to date with my mom's well being and any changes she might experience. The staff of remarkably patient and loving caretakers sent me pictures of my mom and always answered my calls and texts about how she was doing. I was able to call The Sanctuary house as often as I wanted to check in on my mom. They have gone out of their way during this COVID19 pandemic to allow my mother and I to see each other through the glass door. They FaceTimed me and allowed me to partake in singing happy birthday to my mom with everyone else during the amazing birthday they threw for her. They make each holiday and celebration special for the residents. They even put in a gardening box when I told them how much my mom enjoyed gardening. I gave birth to my first child, my mother's first grandchild, during the pandemic and they sent me a video of my mom seeing the pictures of my daughter for the first time. They go the extra mile to encourage and respect the bonds of a family. In a pandemic, they went the extra mile to find a creative way my mother and I could share the special moment of her seeing her first grandchild without ever jeopardizing anyone's health. The house is located in a neighborhood so it's truly a house of residents in a community, not patients in a facility. They provide healthy meals and snacks for my mom. Their cooking is way better than mine!! They have activities for the residents that keep everyone mentally stimulated and smiling. The care is so individualized and personal, I know she is in good hands. The Sancutuary has impacted my entire family in the most heartwarming and positive way. Alzheimer's disease is heartbreaking for anyone to go through, and for the family. That being said, The Sanctuary has provided my mom with light and love in the midst of a dark disease. I am forever grateful.

I can't possibly say enough good things about The Sanctuary at Stonehaven. My Mom was unaccepting of her illness and was quite debilitated. We had moved her to several different places because nothing was right for the type and level of care she needed. Once we found The Sanctuary, even though my Mom was still not happy, she was safe and very well cared for. From the owners, Jess and Lev, to all the staff everyone had my Mom's best interests at heart. They worked really hard to make my Mom safe and as happy as she could be. My mom ended up passing away at The Sanctuary and even though it was during Covid, the staff made so many accommodations for me and my siblings to be with my Mom during her last days. I can't begin to express how thankful we are that we found The Sanctuary and for the love and care they took with my Mom. I only wish we had found them sooner.

As a healthcare professional, I find this community to be a relaxing and safe alternative to home. The atmosphere and staff are delightful and they always go above and beyond to make each day meaningful for the residents.

Moving my mother to Sanctuary at Stonehaven was the best choice we could have made! When COVID restrictions hit, it was reassuring to know that she was in a place that cared about her health and well-being. When we initially were unable to visit due to restrictions, my sister and I had peace of mind that she was being well cared for. The staff are very attentive and gave us frequent updates. The care my mother receives here far surpasses the care at her previous facility. The staff treat her like family and have gotten to know her so well, that they anticipate her needs. The small family like atmosphere with low resident to staff ratios has really improved her quality of life. I can't recommend Sanctuary enough!

We moved Mom into the Sanctuary at Stonehaven II the first day it opened, and what a difference it has made. She was at facility located in Indian Land, and their treatment of their residents was sub-standard. Once we moved Mom to Sanctuary, we noticed a marked improvement almost immediately. She is now well cared for, showered with attention and affection from the very caring staff, fed well-balanced meals and snacks on a regular schedule, provided with interactive entertainment and musicians weekly, etc. I just can't say enough great things about Lev, Jess, and all of the staff at Sanctuary - they have become like family to us.

Was exactly what was needed and then some at exactly the right time. I had so much peace of mind knowing my mother was well cared for while there.

The Sanctuary at Stonehaven has been an answer to my prayers. This is an outstanding facility that is focused on safety, nutrition, and making sure the patients are constantly loved and feeling happy. It was a big step for me 7 months ago to put my wife who I have been married for 32 years into this new home. However, the owners and staff have been first class making sure she is taken care of 24/7. My wife absolutely loves it. This gives me peace of mind and allows me to be her husband vs. her primary caregiver. I have visited every facility in the Charlotte area, the Sanctuary at StoneHaven is the absolute best.

THE PERFECT PLACE FOR MY MOM! They have the best owners who are hands on and don't settle for just average and care about their residents. They also provide 2 caregivers for 6 residents during daylight hours and not once did they ever just go with one. The management has put together some of the best caregivers we saw in our 6 years of being in the system. Ones that truly care and love on them all. They also provide fresh high quality meals. The home setting really makes it feel not much different than residents being in their own home.
October 2018
My mother has been living at the Sanctuary for over three months. I have been extremely happy with her care. Meals are prepared fresh daily by the staff. The schedule for caregivers overlaps so that during the day there a two on duty to provide assistance to the residents. Recently, I was out of town and my mother had developed a cough. DMHC and the owner, Lev Saks, were concerned about this and took immediate steps to get her to the hospital. Lev accompanied her there and stayed with her until I could have a friend take his place. I would highly recommend this family care home where the owner is actively involved with the staff, residents, and families.
July 2018
From the first time (prior to opening) I visited with Lev at The Sanctuary, I knew this was the place for my mother-in-law. It was as if he were inviting me into his home. The attention he and Jessica had put into the details for the safety and comfort of their residents in this lovely facility were quite apparent. We continue to be very pleased with the care and attention she receives. We highly recommend The Sanctuary for the care of your loved one.

Amazing facility! Lev, Jessica, and staff are amazing and have truly set themselves apart from others in the industry. My wife and I spent a lot of time looking for the right place for our loved one, and we found it. The attention to care and dedication are best in class. I highly recommend The Sanctuary at Stonehaven and any future facilities managed by this team!

The Sanctuary at Stonehaven has been a blessing to our family. Lev and his staff are truly patient and caring, providing individualized attention to each resident. The facility is beautiful and clean, and the home cooked meals by Mary are excellent. My mother is in great hands. I recommend The Sanctuary to all.

This is an absolutely beautiful facility. Lev and his team have not missed a single detail to make life meaningful and comfortable for the clients they will serve. But, more importantly, they have a real passion for providing the best care that will allow their clients to maintain a maximum level of functioning and live a meaningful life.

Wonderful assisted living facility in a home-like environment. I hope this is what the future of senior care looks like
February 2018
I worked with the owners, Lev and Jessica, on the design of the alterations and additions necessary to fit the needs of their residents. The home turned out beautifully, and I think the residents will be impressed,, as the owners took great care in designing for the safety and comfort of the elderly. Having worked with many clients before, I can say with honesty that the owners are some of my favorite people to work with. They’re sharp, extremely detail oriented, honest, and caring (and have a great sense of humor), all of which I believe are essential traits to have in running a high-end assisted living residence. I would highly recommend visiting the residence and learning about The Sanctuary, as I would not hesitate to send my parents there if I were looking to place them in assisted living.
