My husband had a bad fall in Aspen, followed by two many strokes. Since then his mind has not been clear. Two top neurologists in California were unable to help. We moved to Charlotte in January. I recently discovered The Ivey and it is nothing short of a blessing! My husband attends there four days a week for four hours, and it has completely changed his outlook on life. Whereas he sat and watched television for hours each day before, he now looks forward to attending The Ivey and I find him looking things up on the Internet, doing small chores around our house, and making dinner reservations.

My wife has been coming to The Ivey almost 3 years. She enjoys it in part because everyone there is so warm and loving to her. The Ivey has made my job as caregiver much easier and helped me to be a better caregiver. The staff at The Ivey stay in very regular contact with me and offer effective and creative solutions to the almost daily challenges I face. I might not have been able to keep my wife at home as long as I have without The Ivey. I believe The Ivey helps us both have a significantly better quality of life during this challenging time.

My husband was diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer's eight years ago and didn't decline until about 2 years ago. I was still working from home and had to find something for my husband to do. I was familiar with The Ivey from attending their support group. He loved going to The Ivey and loved to dance and paint and visit with Lynn Ivey in her office. It was a lifesaver for me and enabled me to keep my job. The staff there is second to none. I can't thank them enough for everything that did for my husband.

The Ivey is absolutely, hands down the best place of its kind that I have ever come across! My mom has been a member there twice. The first time was several years ago when she first started her cognitive decline, attending two days a week. After a year or so, she made the decision to move into a CCRC in Charlotte as she was still able to live more or less independently. After 5 years at the CCRC, her cognitive decline was much more advanced and I was not satisfied with the care she was receiving. At that time I moved her home with me and she attended the Ivey 5 days a week for another year while living with me. The folks at the Ivey are not only well trained in handling memory issues, they are loving and kind and incredibly respectful of every member's individual needs and dignity. I cannot praise the Ivey and all of the people that work there enough! They felt to me much more like a family and their support was given both to my mom and to me as her caregiver.

I have found that the employees and volunteers at The Ivey are constantly concerned and caring about their guests. The programs they provide to entertain and engage are top notch. I don't believe you would find a higher quality adult Daycare Center in Charlotte.

Hands down one of the nicest most professional and well equipped "daycare/memory therapy" centers in Charlotte. It is located right off Fairview close to Park Rd. intersection and close to many doctors' offices. The setting is amazing, the people are truly very kind and compassionate and the food etc. is great. Bottom line, good ROI and excellent care and service. I hope they expand services to weekends for those of us that work weekdays. Thank you for making my mother feel special and giving us the help we need as we begin our Alzheimer's/Dementia journey.
