The staff works hard, and I know their job isn't easy. Everyone I've met has been kind, friendly, and willing to help. The community is clean, and my mom has been happy here. Like a lot of places, they've had some staffing challenges in the past, but I've seen things getting better. I'm happy with the care my mom is receiving, and she enjoys the food. It's nice knowing she's somewhere that has people who care about her

Moved my mom here a year ago for dedicated assisted living because at 95 her needs and expectations for care changed after 12 years of independent living in a CCRC. Rent, which includes 3 meals a day, is more affordable. All staff and care givers are courteous, professional and polite and have bent over backwards to make my mother comfortable. Upon one year of residence at Brighton Gardens of Charlotte, my mother is thriving in its more-manageable environment (easier to navigate) for her. Her 1BR apartment is comfortable and again more manageable for her at this stage in her life.
August 2025
My husband was in the memory care section of Sunrise. The entire staff was hard working and compassionate. In the short amount of time he lived there the staff really got to know him so well and treated him so kindly.
June 2025
Brighton Gardens took my Dad into their Assisted Living facility under difficult circumstances and welcomed him. Over the past few months, I have really appreciated the care staff who take the time to call me regularly with updates. They let me know not only if there is an issue to deal with, but also contact me when things are going well. I have been helped when I've needed to find a doctor, audiologist, buy a new hospital bed, etc. As I live outside the USA, this has all made it much easier to care for my Dad from a distance. UPDATE May 2025 sadly, the initial positive experience wasn’t to last. Dad received very loving and dedicated attention from the care assistants, who continually went over and above to help him as his dementia worsened. Sadly, a new director was appointed and it was immediately clear that there was no interest from management in providing excellence of care. My father’s room was absolutely filthy, he was left half clothed on a bare mattress and when I visited I realized most of his bedding and lots of clothing had disappeared. I would have gladly provided more had anyone told me. When we moved him and asked for an exit interview, we politely expressed our disappointment to the director who completely ignored us as we spoke and simply completed a form confirming that Dad was leaving. Management needs to change. I can only say how much I admire the care staff who continue to work there with such poor management. Our over riding memory now is that the powers that be simply did not care.

From the moment that we walked into Brighton we knew it was the right place for my mother in law. The staff is warm and welcoming and the facility is clean with cute decor. Lauren, Kerry and Paul thank you for everything you did to support us.

I really like this assisted living. It is higher priced due to its South Park location but cozy and excellent quality care. My mom is in memory care and is very disabled and incapacitated. But they are doing an amazing job. She is in "total care" at Brighton Gardens memory care. She has been there for only two months so far. Many would say she belongs in a nursing home but the nursing homes she stayed in were understaffed and they made her stay in bed all the time because she can't get up on her own. She is doing better in total care at Brighton Gardens. Memory care is restrictive for the residents and challenging for the staff, sometimes it seems like they are herding cats, but they manage well there. The food is great and mom and I hang out up in the front area a lot so mom doesn't feel restricted. The front area and dining room are similar to a fancy hotel. The grounds are small but lovely. The front desk concierges are top notch. 9/3/2024 update: Mom is still at Brighton Gardens and they have been wonderful. Her health is always a struggle because of her infirmity but the memory care staff has been so sweet and caring.
July 2024
My aunt has been a resident of BG of Charlotte since May 2023 and upon entry I was not the responsible party for her care so there were many aspects of the service that she was receiving that I was not familiar with when I did become the responsible party. One significant and recent event involved refilling prior meds that my aunt was on since entering the facility. There had been a mix-up in communication between myself and the Behavioral Specialist which resulted in my aunt not having her meds refilled, and at that time she had been off of them for approximately one month. During this time, my aunt's entire disposition changed, she was not engaged with others, she would barely eat and only wanted to be in the bed. I was not happy with the recommendation of the Behavioral Specialist so I sought out another resource and the resounding theme was that not one of the three resources I communicated with could see my aunt until October and it was/is only July. I was devastated, frustrated and terribly concerned that my aunt would steadily decline if she was not properly assessed and prescribed meds that would hopefully restore the energy that she demonstrated just a month prior. My solution was to take her to the ER so that someone could hopefully assess her and begin the process of getting her back on her meds. REM Coordinator, Fatou Jobe, is new at Brighton Gardens, but at a time when I felt a great deal of despair, she was informative, empathetic, and attentive to my concerns. She asked if I would take a moment to go with her and meet Nurse and Senior Care Director, Tammy Felver, prior to taking my aunt to the ER, and I agreed. I had the opportunity for the first time to give some real background information about who my aunt is. This had never been asked of me, and I was extremely frustrated that it did not appear important to her holistic treatment. To this end, Tammy asked me to simply allow her to make a couple of calls because she sincerely wanted to help ease my anguish about what I believed was a lack of care for my aunt's mental health. Tammy made some calls, had me to complete some paperwork and in a matter of minutes, arrangements were made to conduct an assessment on my aunt the next day by Psychiatrist, Dr. Gibbs. What a difference her efforts made. Subsequently the meeting and assessment was conducted and all of the effort paid off because my aunt was prescribed her prior meds. I'm a believer in that people don't have to be nice to you, but not only was Tammy and Fatou nice, they made a difference because they showed that they care not only about my aunt, but me as well. Getting old can be quite sad and depressing, most especially if the family member also has dementia, but having people who can be your eyes and ears when you're not present and who care for the well-being of your family member through times when she is often afraid, confused, and sad really makes a difference. Thank you Tammy Felver and Fatou Jobe for being present, active, and caring. You went the extra mile, and I appreciate it.

In the 2+ years my loved one has been living at Brighton Gardens I have been very pleased with the care given. If I bring something to their attention, action is taken. The care and service are very good and also the food. I appreciate all that they do as this is a very difficult job.

After the untimely death of my brother's wife, it became necessary to transition my brother to assisted living. Knowing little about the process, I quickly became pro-active in learning the ins & outs of adult care and did extensive research on a dozen + facilities in the greater Charlotte area. After meeting with the sales team at BGoC and touring the facility, I knew I'd found the right place. It's centrally located to good & services, including medical resources. The common areas and rooms are spacious, airy and very well kept. Most importantly, I find the BG staff and medical teams to be top rate. Brighton Gardens provides a web portal which enables close contact with staff and family...a nice plus. The management team is communicative, accessible and demonstrates care for the service they provide. Costs are quite reasonable.

After viewing several communities nearby, Brighton was such a warm inviting place. When I arrived, I witnessed residence laughing, talking and everyone doing their own thing and living life. One huge factor is that they will care for my father until the end of his life. No changing facilities or rooms. That is very important. I am blessed to know my father will be well cared for.
April 2023
The staff here were absolutely wonderful! Cannot say enough positive things about them. Out of the four facilities our family looked into, this one easily came out on top. Then dealing with the staff and how they helped to facilitate everything, and them going out of their way to help our family was truly a blessing. Especially considering the issues we ran into on our end of things. Particularly, Lauren Morosko, the director of sales, went above and beyond for our family’s situation. I can tell you from my interactions that they care not only about their residents, but all of the residents’ families as well. I highly recommend Brighton Gardens of Charlotte.
April 2023
Both of my parents were cared for at Brighton Gardens (pre & post pandemic) and we had a wonderful experience. The caregivers to the cleaning staff treated them with kindness and care throughout their stay. It was easy to reach the administrative staff for anything we needed also. I was kept informed at all times for any issues or health concerns that arose. Appreciated the time taken by the staff to help me with appointments and lining up special requests. Trusting your parents to a community is a hard decision and I feel very grateful to Brighton Gardens for all they have done for me and my family!

Director of Sales Lauren Morosko is the person to reach out to when looking for asstd living or memory care for a loved one. She is poised, professional and very knowledgable. She has the answers and knows the lay of the land. She can show you around any of the local Sunrise facilities. She is a credit to Sunrise.

Brighton Gardens has a decent location. My 87 year old mother has lived there for almost a year. While some of the staff is very nice, I can't say much of anything else nice about this place. The last time that I visited my mother in order to have dinner with her, we sat there for over 90 minutes before we received any food. All of the people at the other tables were either completely finished with their meals or they were finishing up the last bits of their dinner. They had already received their salad their entee, soup and dessert while we sat there with nothing. Since we were getting no service, I stood to ask the kitchen staff if we could please be served. They told me in a very aggressive manner to get out of their face and to go sit down. They then shoved me and yelled profanities at me. When we finally were served after 105 minutes and everyone else had left the dining room, they brought us the main entree but they did not bring us our soup or our salad or our dessert. This type of negligence has happened many times before. I am completely sure that this staff has become institutionalized much like a mental institution and they just don't care anymore. I would not recommend this for your loved one it has a very bad environment. Jack

I personally am very pleased with the care my family member is getting. Over time my loved one and myself have become very comfortable with Brighton Gardens and the Staff.
August 2022
In-house PT and OT fabulous, overall quality seemed to suffer given tight labor market (daily trash removal inconsistent, dining experience disorganized), surprised by lack of masking and social distancing, many positive staff interactions, sales interaction and on-boarding was excellent on front-end.
May 2022
My husband and I placed a loved one at Brighton Gardens, and we are very happy with the care and compassion that the entire staff has shown. We live three hours away, and we feel that this was the best place for the following reasons: 1. The location is convenient, and easy to navigate. 2. Everyone who works there is professional, caring, and willing to help out any way they can. 3.. The entire facility is clean, and the food is excellent. 4. Residents are happy, as I talked to some of them in the dining room, and common areas where activities take place. 5. The staff communicates well with residents and their families. Phone calls and emails are ALWAYS answered in a timely manner. It is so good to know that Brighton Gardens will care for our loved one. Peace of mind is important.

After breaking my arm during the process of moving to South Carolina, I was so happy to find Brighton Gardens of Charlotte to do my out-patient physical therapy. The staff, from check-in all the way through to the Physical Therapists, made me feel comfortable and my surgeon was amazed at my progress. The facilities are top-notch and very well maintained. I would not hesitate to have further dealings with Brighton Gardens of Charlotte!
January 2022
I would highly recommend that you do your due diligence with Brighton Gardens, and all facilities before placing your loved one! Do not be in a hurry, and make unannounced visits to see how things are run on a daily basis! That way, you are more aware of how your loved one will be treated, and what services will/will not be provided on a daily basis, in your absence! I have found, that because I did not do this, things are not at all as they appeared, and services that were promised have not been rendered consistently, professionally, or not at all! And it is a frustrating and expensive financial process to relocate your loved one as a result of it!

Brighton Gardens of Charlotte is a caring community with a highly trained and committed staff. After a few weeks living in the community, my mother's cognitive ability and overall well-being improved - primarily due to interaction with other residents and the stimulating activities that were offered. Medication management, an essential component to any resident's health, was consistently and accurately dispensed. I credit the attentive "Med Techs" with my mother's smooth transition to Brighton Gardens and for keeping her healthy during her stay.

If you want your loved one to be screamed at; shoved and bruised; eat deplorable food and get no help, then bring them on! If you care and love your loved one, keep them as far away from here as possible! Sure, it looks nice, but it is NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have found the staff to need periodic training reminders and check lists to ensure correct meds are dispenched to each resident. I would highly suggest a daily menu and activity schedule be provided to-every resident each morning b4 breakfast. The best scenario would be a weekly schedule for menus and activities.
January 2018
Brighton Gardens has the potential to be a great place to live but often comes up short. I have to admit that my father is not an easy person to care for but assisted living should be about 'service' and often the services were administered out of obligation rather than care. There are good people and good programs at Brighton. They currently allow pets and smoking (outside in a designated area). The decor is nice and bright. They have daily programs to encourage residents to participate. Reception is very friendly and helpful, especially Stephanie. Nina in finance is very helpful too.
