WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? For 17 years, everything was fine and dandy, living in a condo in a beautiful setting in the mountains of Western North Carolina. When my husband turned 86 three years ago, serious medical problems became prevalent; and I, eleven years younger, started to get some serious medical conditions. We both thought of the future and how we were going to care for ourselves, not wanting to place the burden on our children. We decided to check out “senior living/retirement communities” in our state as well as Virginia and South Carolina, where our children live. Within a 2-year span, we visited 8 CCRC facilities and decided Ardenwoods in Arden, NC, was the living environment most suited to our lifestyle. Ardenwoods is the smallest community we visited, housing about 90 residents. The setting and view are beautiful. The moving process was about as smooth as it could have been, including being provided with expert packers and movers. Another outstanding feature we immediately noticed after moving in to our spacious 3-bedroom apartment was the helpful, gracious, courteous, and friendly staff. We can say the same thing about the residents we have met! We feel we made the right decision to make our new home at Ardenwoods.

Beautiful, immaculate buildings, and an amazing view if the mountains. A staff so cordial that I felt right at home. The financial plan for living at this beautiful place is far more appealing than any other that I have found in this area.

My only experience with Ardenwoods was visiting a person. I dont think anyone would confuse Ardenwoods for Givens or Deerfield, but the campus was nicely laid out and the staff was friendly. The apartment was well-designed. I could live there.

The people at Ardenwoods & Heather Glen were very informative and friendly. We are looking for a place for my in-laws to live in together. We toured and got information about with the independent living and the assisted living. My husband will be presenting them with the information we gathered, but the decision will still be up to them. We appreciate all the information we were given, plus the time and attention by the staff.
