I developed a deep love and respect for Summerhouse Beau Ridge when my husband was in Memory Care there in the late stages of his Alzheimers. The staff and caregivers provided loving care and respect for him that was beyond expectations. Little did I know at that time that a few years later I would be a resident in Summerhouse Beau Ridge Independant Living. I was warmly welcomed there by staff and a community that would soon become like family to me. There's never a dull moment with activities, social gatherings and excursions. There's a house keeper and a free laundry room on each floor and a dining room that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, restaurant style. So there's plenty of free time for the game room or library or just relaxing with friends. Also, transportation is provided for doctors visits. What more could you ask? And icing on the cake, they are currently refurbishing our balconys and building exterior. Summerhouse Beau Ridge Independent Living is my home.

I have been living at Beau Ridge (now Summerhouse Beau Ridge) Independent Senior Living for four years, since November 25, 2020. I love everything about this place. All the residents and staff are friendly. They go above and beyond to help me. I go places on the van and bus. The food is good. I request special orders frequently, and if the kitchen staff can, they accommodate my desires. People smile here and care about you. I care, too. We are a family. Thank you, Beau Ridge Kay Patenotte Resident When the Discovery Senior Living Company took over, they found our individual balconies unsafe. Workers are diligently working on them; in the meantime, the outside of our building looks a mess. Once fixed, the residents will be able to use their luxurious balconies. Presently, two community balconies are structurally sound and are in use. Once again, thank you, Beau Ridge family, for making my life easier.

Beau Ridge Memory Care became hometo our mom for almost 2 yrs. The arduous, painful journey for families of Alzheimer’s is the long goodbye. Debby and her staff reflected loving care and support first to the residents and then to the families. That first decision to place a family member is heart-wrenching. Adjustment takes awhile, but amazingly over time, the care partners and staff became a second family, even to the point of joyous days filled with hugs and laughter. Live goes on while our family members seem stuck- however, the residents were treated with utmost respect and dignity- and most importantly, love. Our mom recently passed, but our lives are forever touched with the compassion and care given to her and our family. We love Debby and her staff and are forever grateful!

Our mamaw was a resident there the past few months and passed away a few days ago. The staff were so loving and treated her with such tremendous respect!! She was basically needing full care towards the end and they made sure to meet all her needs. I am thankful she was able to spend her last few months surrounded by such loving staff! And an added bonus is that it always felt so clean!!! I highly recommend summerhouse for those families who aren't able to provide total care at home for their loved ones! While searching for local independant living places for my Mother, Summerhouse Beau Ridge felt like home from the minute we walked in the door. Anna was amazing to work with too! She took a lot of time to explain the process to us and was so patient to answer all of our questions. Her love for seniors and her job ultimately made the choice to move to Summerhouse Beau Ridge an easy one for my Mom. The building always feels clean and tidy and the property is well maintained. My mother-in-law lives at Beau Ridge Independent living in Ridgeland, MS. She was one of their first residents right after it opened. It is a lively and beautiful place with lots of activities. Justin Reedy and his staff are just the best! Justin treats each resident as if they are a family member of his and I can’t tell you how much that means and has meant especially during this pandemic. Even had an early morning FaceTime with my mother in law thanks to him. You will not regret having your family member live here. It feels good from the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by such friendly staff. The facility is well maintained and I just can’t say enough good things about it. Go see, you’ll love it!

Beau Ridge Independent Living in Ridgeland, MS (which is separate from the Memory Care place) is such a happy, vibrant community. The facility is beautiful and the staff is the best ever! They genuinely care for the residents and their families. There are lots of activities and fun events plus they have a wonderful library and a workout room. My mom has lived in an apartment there for about 3 years and absolutely loves it! It is really a happy place and if mama is happy, everyone is happy!

My aunt has been in the independent living building for two years. The staff were extremely helpful in facilitating her move from her long-time home. The staff know her by name and always let me know if there is a concern. The food is very good and there are a wide variety of activities and trips for active people. Justin is the manager and I have found him to be very accommodating and interested in making sure all needs are met. (The independent living building is completely separate from the memory care unit and its staff.) I have relatives in two other nearby facilities and prefer the experiences with Beau Ridge.

My mother, Lorene, was a resident at Beau Ridge Memory Care for the six months prior to entering hospice care. Executive Director Debby Gooch and her staff are absolutely wonderful. Prior to entering the facility, they spent time explaining to us how they operated the facility, their expectations for the staff, and what we should expect regarding my mother’s care as we toured the facility. Ms. Gooch and her staff lived up to and exceeded my expectation for the care of my mother. Ms. Gooch is a passionate advocate for the residents and families of Beau Ridge. She was quick to help or offer advice whenever circumstances changed for my mother regarding her health and well-being. Ms. Gooch has established high standards for her staff which translates into a warm inviting home for the residents. The facility is clean, secure, well-maintained, and fully staffed. With adequate staff, the residents are allowed to move around freely which was surprising to me at first. They have many seating areas for family and residents to visit with each other. The dedicated cooking staff prepared and served delicious meals. We were impressed with the activities provided for the residents which keeps them active, engaged, healthy, and happy. As a true Southern lady, my mother enjoyed going to the in-house beauty salon to get her hair done. Nevertheless, the staff is the best feature of Beau Ridge. The care aids who took care of my mom were incredible. They treated my mom and our entire family with respect, kindness, and love. Even though my mom was not able to verbalize her feelings, she was quick to give them a hug or a smile because they were as close as any family member. The staff was quick to share stories with us about my mother’s day and routines. They were always close by to offer assistance when we visited. I truly believe the staff at Beau Ridge loves my mother and they are treating her like family. I will never be able to thank the entire staff at Beau Ridge enough for helping our family and loving my mom.

My Dad has been at Beau Ridge for about 2 years now. We have been in two other places and I can say because of these other experiences, that Beau Ridge is the place to be. They have the BEST director who runs a tight ship and requires the workers to know the residents, their interests, and care about them. It is nice for him to be called by name by the workers. I have never seen anyone treat him with anything other than respect. I know this is because of the demand for excellence that the director instills in the workers. As at any place, I know there are things that we might get upset with such as clean room, dirty hair, etc every now and then., but my experience is that if they are told about it, there is an effort to correct. I love that my Dad is happy and that we are secure knowing that he at the best place. Thank you Beau Ridge for your care of my Dad!

My grandmother was a resident of Beau Ridge for 16 months. Before entering the facility, her quality of life was constant confusion, emotional distress, and fear. Within a few weeks of living in Beau Ridge, my grandmother began to thrive from the stability and genuine care offered by the staff and program. We could see glimpses of her former self and witty personality more frequently than before she was placed in Beau Ridge. The wonderful staff treated her like the sassy princess she was, even going as far as to do her makeup and fingernails. My brother has been a resident of Beau Ridge Memory Care for five months. He has memory loss due to multiple sclerosis. The daily routine at Beau Ridge was developed with the understanding of what is needed for people with memory issues. The care givers work hard to provide stimulation and individual care. I have witnessed their patience with residents who are confused and do not want to participate in an activity or who need redirecting as to where the dining room is. Another plus is that both male and female care givers are on staff. The nursing staff has kept me informed of medical issues with my brother. There are outings to restaurants and movies and special guests come to provide music and other entertainment. My brother is happy there, and I feel grateful for the care he is receiving.

My mother could no longer maintain the large apartment she was living in and had no interest in cooking or cleaning. My brother and I decided Beau Ridge would be the perfect place for mom. We were right ! She fell in love with the apartment having a beautiful view of the back courtyard. The activities are so much fun and even the manager Justin Reedy would dance along with the residence. Terry Martin had the apartment freshly painted and was very helpful. They both are like family. There are so many fun things to do like learning to shoot pool, painting a picture, win at bingo, and social hour on Friday. We attended the crawfish boil, several birthday parties for the residents, and even a snow cone day. The beauty parlor is the place to go to be pampered. The food is delicious and she enjoyed her friends like Nell. We recommend Beau Ridge giving it a five star rating. Thank you from Kevin, Denise and Mike.
