Addington Place of Lee's Summit – Reviews
Addington is such a pleasant atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly. I love the dining area it’s like you’re going to a restaurant. The residents there seem extremely happy and I enjoy going and doing activities with them. It’s extremely clean with nice decorations as well.
Very accommodating management and staff! My mom moved into assisted living at Addington about a month ago and is doing great after living a number of years independently at her home. We made a number of visits to Addington and everyone was welcoming and didn't mind we made multiple visits trying to make the decision and after we decided, letting us come back to see the apartment to decide what furniture to bring from her home. They have a good understanding that each person has individual needs and made the effort to determine what level of help is necessary for the resident to live as independently as they can and retain dignity. My mom feels very safe and secure and enjoys the time she spends with other residents, but also likes having her own personal space when she wants to rest, relax or work on a puzzle. Only have had one time she said she didn't like a meal which I am quite impressed with that. The staff works well together and always happy to answer any questions I have.
Staff target and blame other staff regarding personal concerns in front of residents. The food served is not nutritious. Medications get mixed up often or are not administered properly. The cleanliness of the facility is lacking. This place needs more collaboration and respect among staff. Facility is lacking proper staffing per resident in a facility of its size.
The staff has been very kind and accommodating to my mother-in-law. When she had to move from assisted living to memory care during COVID, they moved her furniture and belongings themselves. The facility is clean with lots of sunlight and open spaces. My mother-in-law enjoys all the activities they provide. Administration is very responsive, helpful and patient.
My 93 year old father has lived at Addington Place of Lee's Summit since June of 2021. After 71 years of marriage, my mother passed and my dad was lost without her. Dad reluctantly agreed to move into Addington Place, where the facilities are beautiful, the staff is loving, and the location is perfect: sandwiched between Lee's Summit Hospital and a Mid-Continent Public Library branch. He is thriving and is healthier than he has been in years! I can't fully express my gratitude for the excellence in care he receives, but I gladly tell everyone how thrilled my family is to have found Addington Place
The staff of Addington Place of Lee's Summit is made up of outstanding, caring employees! My father told me last month, "Do you remember when I didn't want to come here? I LOVE it, now!" The beautiful facility, stimulating activities, excellent music programs, wonderful staff, and friendly residents have far exceeded my expectations. I'm especially grateful for a staff who has taken the time to build relationships with my dad, making him feel loved and special.
This place is so amazing to work at. Feels like home. I’m so blessed to have amazing boss that cares for us and works very hard. Co workers are awesome here. We all work so good together it’s like we are family.
I have worked here for 5 months now and have grown to love so many of the residents they are like my grandma and papa. This place is just like a huge family. The people I work with make it so much fun to come in everyday. If u are looking for a fun place to work come on in
Excellent facility. When looking to place your loved one, look no further... This is the best, of the best. They have taken AMAZING care of my family member. Highly recommended. The staff are incredible and loving.
My mom was a resident at Addington since 2016. She made so many friends and did so many fun activities. I will be forever grateful for the staff and how they cared for my sweet mom, Sunny. You all made the last 4 1-2 years so bright and happy for her. You will always have a special place in my heart.
My mom and I are so pleased with this community, it is a beautiful home in a very nice neighborhood with only 6 residents and my mom has her own room. All of the staff here are great with each and every resident and it shows that they really care about them. My mom says that even the food is good. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.
Addington Place is full of loving and compassionate people! A great place to call HOME for staff and residents.
So far so good! Moms first day was positive. Staff is great and the premises are awesome.
This place has done a great job so far of taking good care of my grandmother. It's a clean place, has a great layout, and sports friendly staff members who care.
The Benton house of lee's summit has some of the best care takers ever. We really appreciate all of them and their help. Amber at the front desk is the sweetest most helpful person ever, Katie the activities Director is a doll and does a fantastic job, Carol the director is always willing to talk to you and try to make things better, The nursing staff is great, Roger is the best. Only thing that needs improvement is the food but we know they are working on it. That is the most complaint I have heard from residents there but the overall care and hospitality deserve a 5!! Great place for your loved ones! They are in good hands!! Thank you everyone at Benton house in Lee's Summit, we appreciate you!
My mother has transitioned so well from independent living to assisted living at The Benton House of Lee's Summit. She loves the staff who are always responsive to her every need. Her medications regimen is spot on, thanks to a nursing staff who has a lead line to Mom's docs and her pharmacy. As her family, we simply could not be more pleased! Our personal doctor calls it, "The cream de la cream of Lee's Summit Assisted Living facilities".
Great facility, great staff. Love going in there as everyone is very professional and easy to work with.
We placed our mother, suffering from Alzheimer's, in the Beacon at Benton House in Lees Summit after researching and investigating many places around. At first, her children wanted her at a closer facility (Kansas side) so that we could be available for emergencies but her husband lived in that area and we realized it was better for him if she was close by him. Dropping her off the first night was very difficult for all of us as she didn't want to be there. They assured us that this was normal. They seemed very knowledgable and kind, very concerned for her comfort. Within a few weeks, and with very few drugs, she was settled and at home there. The caregivers are amazing! I love the individual attention they gave her. Many times when I came in dropping off supplies, I observed from afar. The workers were visiting with the residence and engaging them in playful conversation. In fact one of them danced with a resident as she was remembering the past. The activity director planned many fun events and outings. She was always there making things happen. Our mother wasn't the best eater but they got to know her behavior and came up with strategies to encourage her to eat Even though she put up a fight at first, Mother was always dry, clean and groomed. No matter how difficult she was, they kept lovingly working with her and redirecting her till she felt comfortable with them. They did this without medicating her. We were pleased that the nurses were always available for our questions and concerns. They knew she was a fall risk so they kept a close eye on her but let us know right away any time she fell. Having Lees Summit Hospital so close was comforting as she had been falling for quite some time. One of her falls caused them to think it necessary to have her checked out. After spending a few nights at Lees Summit Hospital, the Doctors there felt she needed to go to a facility that had skilled nursing to strengthen her. We agreed to let her go but after 4 days in a large government run facility she had actually gotten weaker and was confined to a wheel chair for the first time. They used drugs to keep her in line which kept her from being able to do any rehab and strengthening. We removed her at once and brought her back home to Benton. The reception from the caregivers upon her arrival was heart warming. We knew then how much these workers really cared for her. They even sent her a little bear with get well wishes. We took her picture with the bear and sent it to them. They hung it on the refrigerator because they missed her. The Beacon caregivers got her up and walking with her walker again within a few months with no "skilled nursing". We learned that there is a huge difference between skilled nursing and caregiving. After 7 1/2 months, our mother suffered an aneurism and passed away Dec. 19. Our Benton House family has been unbelievably loving and kind through it all. Several of them even showed up at the funeral...with tears. We have been so blessed to have found this place for her. We will miss our regular time with them but plan to come back to visit on occasion. We could go on and on with stories of amazing over the top care, but for now we just want you to know if you are looking for a special place for your loved one, we highly recommend Benton House in Lees Summit.
