I like McCrite Plaza so far. I feel that the staff, at all levels, listens to my inquiries about my father, Marshall. I think, like any long term care facility, they have to deal with staff shortages, etc. Nothing is easy about growing older or navigating an illness, but I feel that they do their best to address my concerns. You can't ask for more than that. If I asked for more help tomorrow, I know they would help me out.

From the moment I walked into McCrite, Alayne Webb met with us and she was both gracious and very professional. She took over, did the impossible, and within a short period my mother was able to move in. Alayne was such a joy to work with and made a difficult situation as easy as possible. She is Amazing. Thank you to Alayne for making this happen and to the McCrite family for having such a lovely place and a wonderful staff that really cares. I am back in Washington now, knowing that my mother is very happy. A priceless gift.

The staff at McCrite took great care of my dad when he was there for short term rehab after a hospital stay. There are too many people to name here but you can tell that, as a whole, the staff really care about and want to help people and they work as a team to do so. The facility was also well-maintained and clean. Communication was good overall and they kept us informed of any changes or updates to his care as needed. If they didn't know something, they generally asked, and we took care of it together. I would highly recommend McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff for anyone needing short term therapies.

McCrite should be your first and only choice. When it comes to making a decision for yourself or a loved one to receive care, it is truly the best. It is family owned AND operated. Let me tell you, this makes all of the difference. I have seen Cassidy McCrite walking by and pause what he was doing to offer friendly conversation with residents or simply to check in on them. He is kind and compassionate and he leads with purpose. The grounds are immaculate. This place is truly beautiful inside and out and has been specially designed for people to feel right at home in a warm and loving environment. The staff is compassionate and supportive. They are proactive in the care that they provide and go above and beyond in their work and treat your loved ones like family. I have worked in the past at many local retirement homes and Long Term Care Centers. McCrite Plaza has always far exceeded any place in numerous ways. They offer top of the line care. The facility is clean, not only where guests convene, but literally everywhere. They have the necessary supplies in stock to care for your loved one's needs. They have on site chefs to prepare food and plenty of options if your taste doesn't agree with what the main course is for the day. The activities that they offer are fun and exciting and planned out with care and consideration for many different levels of engagement that the residents may have. Hygiene is taken very seriously here and your loved one's personal needs are taken care of with dignity and respect. People are happy here. It's a positive place to be. The little things are always thought of and that is a rare find these days. My grandfather was here to rehabilitate after an amputation. He is very hard to please and he had no complaints. My husband's uncle was here in LTC and the family was pleased with his care as well. I worked here for 2 years on and off with an outside agency in LTC, Rehabilitation and Assisted living. I worked days, mid shift and nights. I saw for myself that the care in all aspects is consistent no matter the time of day. It is truly impressive, refreshing and reassuring. As you're reading through some of the other reviews with lower ratings and complaints, take into consideration some of the alternative places in the area and compare the two. Every place has its flaws, but what makes McCrite different is that they do anything and everything to make something right and they actually care. Sure staffing is never going to be perfect, but they work with local agencies to ensure quality care is received and adequate and safe staffing ratios are in place. This is standard in healthcare facilities and isn't isolated to McCrite. Ultimately McCrite is a place that I would go to one day myself. It's top tier in every way.

My Dad's been at McCrite for two weeks after being very ill in the hospital. I've never been more impressed with a facility. My Dad was so sick and weak. He was assessed very quickly by a team of very knowledgeable nurses and physical therapists. They started his rehabilitation day two and in 24 hours, the improvement was staggering. He was walking through the halls and eating 3 meals a day!! They were very efficient keeping us informed of his treatment plan, asking questions and answering ours. I believe that the way these women nurtured him is a direct reflection of the progress he's made. I truly get emotional thinking about it. We cannot possibly thank you all enough. There are too many of you to name, but you know who you are! You've given us our Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather back in better health than we believed was possible!!

Can't say enough nice things about McCrite - about the facility, level of care, compassion from the staff. My mother started in independent living- and has transitioned to ALP. Every time my mom has a stay in the hospital - someone from their staff stops by to check in on her to let her know they are thinking about her. (Which REALLY means a lot!) I encourage everyone to checkout their Facebook page and Instagram - to see ALL of the activities they provide. My husbands parents are in a facility in Houston - and although the care seems good, they have absolutely nothing for them to do. My mom has been at McCrite for 3 years and have never been sorry we moved her there - I would like to give a special shout-out for a few people that have really touched our families heart! Thank you to Tom Wideman and Christina (music therapist) for always being there for all the residents ! I just see so much joy on the resident's faces when they spend time with them. Special thanks to Douglas (over on ALP) for the care he has given to my mother/. And Cassidy and Kayla on behalf of my sister - for always patient and understanding when we were moving my mom from point A to point B ! And lastly - to all the caregivers on ALP ... activity directors, receptionist's nursing staff, PT's & OT's - love everything about them.. (just don't know all their names) Thank you all very much!

I wavered on giving a 3 or 4. I went to mccrite for rehab after a total knee replacement. The facility is nice and most people were willing to assist and give me time but the rehab facility is set up more for 80 to 90 year olds; not a 58 year old who could pretty much take care of themselves except for a few items requiring nursing staff assistance like getting ice for icing machine or restock of bathroom items. There were some issues with my pull cords not working or going off every half hour, frustrating some nursing staff who thought i was pulling it. Also, the bed was not set up right for the big mattress they put on it, which wasn't supportive for getting up. Finally, maintenance was called a week later, and it was fixed.There were workarounds to make it easier to all affected. Not one time during my 2.5 week stay did anyone change the bedding. Only 3 days in a row my second week did someone come in and partially vacuum. The food was good. However, no one told me that I didn't have to eat what was on the general menu they never gave me the menu until 9 days after being there. Someone was supposed to be coming to my room to ask me if I wanted what was on the menu, but that didn't happen. This was corrected about the 11th day and very quickly. My biggest issue was with the nursing staff. Those nurses with CNA backgrounds were phenomenal, but those nurses who did not have a CNA background would pass the buck, and I would have to wait sometimes 30 minutes or more for someone to come assist. In addition, on 3 nights, the same nurse fell asleep at the nurse's station. There were several others who were also sleeping, but it was only a one-time that I had seen them. This was brought to the administration's attention, though not by me but by an internal nursing staff member. Many times, people would do a quick knock and walk in without waiting for me to respond. I understand that working with 80 to 90 year olds who typically lived in a nursing home and may have issues hearing it would be sufficient but for me I asked for a little more respect to wait for my response since several walked in while i was naked.. I would recommend home health care for rehab and not a facility like Mccrite should you be at an age like me... still working and able to live on your own.

My mother is a resident at McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff in assisted living. I went to visit her today and she was participating in a seated dance class led by Katie the Activities Director. I joined in the class to ensure mom didn't stop! It was fun to participate with Mom and she laughed through the class. There is a place in heaven for those that choose to engage our loved ones as Katie does! We are fortunate to have Katie and I'm very grateful for the time she takes with all of the residents in assisted living, but most importantly my mom.
