I looked at a lot of places such as this before I made my selection as to where I would live. Most of the facilities that included utilities and food in the rent, were either poorly maintained or significantly more expensive than The Fountains. But what sealed the deal for me was when I was given a tour of TheFountains. The place was vibrant with activties and things to do! I lived there for a year prior to my leaving for the last place I'll likely ever live, and really the only issue I ever had at The Fountains was the lack of service, sometimes, in the dining room. However, after living in three different places over the past few years that ranged from $2,700 a month to nearly $8,000.00 a month, I've concludedthat this is an issue at ALL of these kinds of facilities. But know this, the directive works hard at keeping enough help to satisfy all that live there. If you are looking to meet new friends, be active and have choices of things to do and places to go, as well as eat pretty good food, then this is your place to live!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I moved my mom here from a place up north of the river about six weeks ago. She loves it. The food is great, the employees and residents are genuinely friendly and happy. The residents are heard and well taken care of. They do a walkthrough in the evenings to make sure the door sign is out indicating the resident is in for the night and also a walkthrough in the morning to make sure the sign is opposite showing they are out and about. There are several activities to get involved it. Her apartment is a one bedroom studio and she loves the space and layout, it’s perfect her and her dog. Very good choice and give me peace knowing she is well. It has been 3 years approximately since I moved my mom here. I wanted to update my review regarding the rent increases. Each January my mom’s rent has increased 6%. With the next increase her budget will be too tight and I am looking at other places. She still likes her apartment and maintenance is good. She just can’t afford this rent increase any longer. People should be aware of the increase history.

Love this place for my dad. He went through a difficult time. .Memory care, hospitalization, nursing homes, etc. He came here in hopes he could handle Independent living. They have so many resources that helped him heal and become self sufficient. Caring staff, beautiful bldg. , updates on bldg, and most important they answer the phone and help you through rough times.Terri is amazing along with all of the staff. Oh, by the way, dad is very happy with the food.

The Fountains at Greenbriar is a rare find in Independence! My 92-year-old mother lived here for five years until November 2025, and she loved every minute of it. The Executive Director is incredibly attentive, keeping the residents' physical safety and spiritual well-being at the forefront of everything she does. The staff here are wonderful”they run the community smoothly and show genuine love for every resident. The food is consistently good, served by an excellent wait staff. We also loved the managed events and activities calendar, which fosters great social interaction and positive outcomes. I highly recommend The Fountains for anyone seeking a fair, reasonable place to live that truly puts residents first!"

My mother moved into the fountains at the ending of April 2025. She loves the Fountains. I stayed with her for three days when she moved in. The food is AMAZING, every employee that I had stopped to talk to was caring, truly nice and helpful. The VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES is really more than one person can do and not be wore out. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!

My grandfather lived here after my grandma had a stroke. The fountains were so welcoming to him and helped him adjust to his new living situation. The director, Terry, is wonderful! When my grandpa needed a higher level of care she was understanding and helped me get that for him. She really cares about the people that live there!

We went to the Easter Party. My 2 year old daughter had so much fun seeing the Easter Bunny, going on an egg hunt, getting her face painted, coloring eggs and decorating a cookie. Every resident and employee made her feel so special, and when we left she had a huge smile on her face and was completely worn out. So much fun, thank you to the Founains!

I was absolutely impressed with The Fountains at Greenbriar! The staff is so kind, welcoming and helpful. The building is beautiful with 3 floors with so many amenities including dining services, transportation services, a very active community/activities department lead by residents and staff, a library, movie theater, pool table, gym, laundry on every floor, housekeeping services, maintenance services, in house therapy services and nursing/caregiver services. The residents are so lovely and want to engage in as much as they can. Whether you are a new resident or new employee, you will be quickly welcomed with open arms and become one of the family in no time.

The Fountains at Greenbriar is the place you want to be. Great food and beautiful dining area. The activities are outstanding from playing WII bowling, going out to local restaurants, trips to Branson and many more. My mother is 94 years young and she loved it here. Caring compassionate people work here. They even have an Aging in Place for the times you need assistance. Go take a tour, you'll fall in love with The Fountains. If I was older this is the place that I would want to live.

I’ve been living here with my mother for 5 weeks and have nothing but high marks for the community and staff here. I have attended almost all of the daily activities, meetings and events, dined on some of the most delicious prepared dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve interacted with all the maintenance, executive, dining rooms and front of house staff and have always been treated with respect and a welcoming sense of belonging. I’ve met probably 40-50 residents, all of whom showed me the most friendly smiles I don’t get much out in public. Their stories about their rich life experiences have amazed me and I know my mother is in the best place our family could hope for. I love the Fountains!!

My experience is anytime I need something, I am taken care of. Everybody; residents and staff, is so nice and helpful. They even make special roast for my dog! Anything is possible here. I'm so glad I chose to move here!

A Step Above The Rest! My Dad and Mom have been staying at The Fountains for about two years. They really like the place, the great community, staff and activities. My Dad recently went to the hospital for other health issues and then had to spend time in a rehab facility for three weeks. I have visited my parents there several times as I live out of state in Colorado. My other siblings live in Independence. I came back to help them and was there to stay with my Dad and Mom at their Apartment for nine days to help them because my dad had issues walking after coming out of rehab. What I found during the stay with them and during the time there was, that everything I had noticed when I visited was better then I thought. All the Staff I had met from the Director Terri down to the maintenance people and food service really do care. No place is perfect by any means, but the staff works hard and goes the extra mile to try to make The Fountains at Greenbriar a nice place to live and they seem to like were they work. Some of the Staff even stopped by the rehab center to see how my Dad was recovering. My parents really appreciated that gesture as it meant allot! During the the January ice and snow storm the Director Terri and Staff stayed at the facility several days to ensure there were no issues at the retirement home during storm to assist residents if needed, providing food service, entertainment and to ensure safety of resident and staff. I noticed the staff really do like where they work and the people they work with. My observation to the Director Terri's credit, is why they have a good facility, good staff and great community as she really tries to take good care of staff and residents. I told my Mom the place is kind of reminds me being on a cruise ship without the water. My Mom like that and smiled. A lot of great activities, community and things to do for residents. Oh and don't forget about the maintenance Staff led by Robert and good food service staff led by Steve and other great staff! Thanks for all you do to accommodate and take care of my parents and other residents! I hope this quality of service continues for a years to come as it is the key to this communities success! What an amazing time with my dad! First of all, every week when I visit he can’t stop bragging about how great the food and staff are! Tonight The Fountains hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner that he (and the other residents) could invite family and friends to join him in the celebration. The food was incredible and our servers were so kind and helpful. I love the care my dad receives here!

There is always a bunch of activities for residents to participate in, the food is always delicious, and it really gives off the vibe of a home. There is not a community in the area I feel could even compare to the services and hospitality that is available for all! Definitely stop by for a tour of this wonderful community!

It is abundantly clear that the staff here love their jobs and care about their residents as if they were their own family. The facility is always clean, and I write this on thanksgiving after having eaten an amazing dinner provided by their kitchen. The Fountains also offer activities and trips outside of their facility as well as games and events inside. I’m so happy with the quality of life my grandpa has here and would recommend it to anyone looking for an independent living apartment.

I recently took an elderly friend to The Fountains to help her learn more about Senior Living at the facility. I cannot say enough good about our experience that afternoon! We spent the afternoon with the executive director Terri Bowlin who gave us a tour of the facility as well as visiting several of the apartments. All questions and concerns were addressed with extreme compassion and kindness! The facility was very clean and inviting and the many staff members and residents we met were very friendly!

I was honored to attend the Autumn festival last month and it was a delightful activity. Amy is always planning and providing fun activities for the whole community. This has been a great place for our mom! She is extremely social and thrives on the interaction with the other residents. She enjoys playing card games, WII activities and doing crafts. It is amazing how the staff members know most of the residents' names and they address them so respectfully when they see them. The Fountains is a good value for the apartment, meals and activities! I'd encourage anyone looking for a safe place for your loved ones to consider The Fountains.

The Fountains at Greenbriar is always a wonderful place to visit. There is always so many fun events like the Fall Festival, Trunk or Treat, and Thanksgiving Dinner they recently had. I look forward to the upcoming holiday season with my family here. The food is delicious and the people working are always kind welcoming and helpful. A great place for families.

We had no idea that mom could afford a place that offers such great amenities and activities! We love that she has a monitor to wear 24/7 in case of falls. The food is good and plenty of it. Housekeeping every other week is included. Transportation is available to doctors, shopping etc. She is enjoying life, making friends and trying new activities. The best part is that EVERY staff member we’ve interacted with has been helpful and friendly! If you think this kind of community is out of your price range, you might be surprised, as we were.

I can only say the best of things about The Fountains at Greenbriar. I helped my Dad move in in 2022. Our experience moving in was great and his stay was excellent until his passing. Everyone who works here is friendly, helpful and caring. Dad truly enjoyed his time here. I want to thank everyone at The Fountains for making his last days happy and peaceful. You did good. Very nice place. Everything a person could want....exercise room, computer room, chaple, beauty shop, and much more. Friendly, helpful staff, EXCEPT for the three women who were in the executive office, who were cold, impersonal, uncaring. Their whole demeanor ruin a wonderful place to live.if I had met them 1st,The Fountains would have been crossed off the lisy of plaves to consider.

All I can say is WOW. It's more like a beautiful hotel. Visited my uncle. His appt had a huge bathroom with walk in shower. A cute kitchenette with a med size mini fridge. Sink, microwave and even a 2 burner stove. The living room was a bit small but enough room to entertain 2-4 people. The bedroom was nice and roomy. Lots of closets. Low floor lighting to avoid stumbles. A ledge outside your door to personalize your doorway. Nice big windows show a pretty view of well kept grounds. As for the rest.. beautiful dining rooms. Tables laid out with prettily folded cloth napkins. They even have a bar for the weekly happy hour. A beautiful staircase and at least 2 elevators. Friendly staff. Fireplaces and huge screened TV's in common rooms. I know there is much more. Visit our call to get the rest of the story.
