While this is a beautifully updated community with spacious rooms and nice views, there were too many issues with caregivers and management. Katrie and Carrie were wonderful directors with years of experience but both left shortly after they were hired, along with the business manager. Both of these ladies helped our family transition our parent into the assisted living lifestyle. It wasn't long before problems started occurring with the "Care Plan" not being followed, very high turnover with inexperienced caregivers, lack of follow-up when concerns were brought to management's attention. The caregiver's were given 20 hrs of initiation with very understanding on how to socially interact with the residents with specific needs. The caregivers weren't there long enough to get to know the residents and their care plans and there was no compassion, I blame this on management, especially with the hardnosed director of nursing, who was never happy about all the complaints. We were constantly being told that there would be more retraining when concerns were brought to her attention. The issues included, not transferring our loved one appropriately from wheelchair to bed, not checking on our loved one for up to 7 hours, not allowing our loved one to go back to their room to watch TV, locking their wheels so that they couldn't move freely, allowing a smoker to smoke in a non-smoking area because the door was broken to the back patio, etc... We moved our love one to a different community that has a stable and caring staff, quick responses to needs, front desk personnel that are always friendly and helpful and management that is actively involved with the residents. While the Grande looks fabulous be sure to do your due diligence when researching this community. If you are touring the different communities check for occupancy rates and whether or not you see staff interacting with staff or hiding in a corner on their phone. If the staff don't have nametags, it means that they haven't been there long enough to get a nametag and they probably won't stay. If you see a lot of empty rooms, it is because too many residents don't stay once they realize their loved one isn't getting the care they deserve and pay for. Also, all phone calls at The Grande go to VM which is not helpful when there is a timely concern. Good luck finding a good fit for your loved one, The Grande did not work for our family.

Very positive experience with The Grande at Chesterfield. We moved from another local facility and from move in day on every person we've dealt with has gone out of their way to assist us and make the transition seamless. Carrie, Katrie and Ben have gone above and beyond! I would recommend The Grande to anyone needing AL/Memory Care.

Truly a place where you can tell the staff care about their residents. I would highly recommend for those who are looking for a TRUE memory care facility where the staff is always making everyone feel at home.

I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, the apartments are lovely with tall ceilings and lots of sunlight. The staff was nice, but seemed tired. We moved my mom in during the pandemic and the thing I found most alarming was the lack of mask use by staff. Lots of people had them pushed down below their chin or werent wearing them properly. I expect at a long term care facility for staff to wear masks properly among the most vulnerable senior citizens.

This is the most wonderful assisted living. My mom lived at another community a couple miles away and after they changed owners again, I moved mom to the Sheridan. This was the best decision ever. I had some issues at first but their nurse Lori took care of everything immediately. My mom never painted in her life and Trish has her painting and making jewelry. Thank you to everyone at the Sheridan. You are all angels.

My father was at the Sheridan locked memory care for about 7 months before he passed away. This is the most wonderful assisted living facility you could ever find for your loved one. The facility is clean and well maintained. The residents were clean, well dressed, smiling, and well supervised. The staff are very caring and well trained to handle behavioral issues associated with dementia. The nurses, and medical staff were outstanding. The food is very good and there are even nice outings and activities for the residents. Cant thank the staff enough for caring for my dad. I highly recommend this facility

My granddaughter Norah and I attended the Craftability class at the Sheridan. Norah worked with a lovely lady named Marie. The Sheridan staff was so friendly! Its a really fun experience for the kids and the adults!!
