As a professional in the aging field for over 15 years, we've been beyond impressed with the care at Trails! My grandparents have lived in their memory care and experienced true compassion and care. Chelsey clearly leads her staff well!! Kudos for standing out in care and service in a difficult time, simply showing up every day for your residents!

I now have two family members living at the Trails of Orono and want to express my appreciation for thei energy and care that Chelsea, Chris, Cheryl, Rodney, Emma and the rest of the staff provide. They are a genuine and synchronized team paying attention to detail and efficiency., resulting in my families satisfaction of the Trails of Orono.

Our mother was at Trails for the last few months of her life. Our only regret is we didn't move her in earlier. The entire operation, from staff to facilities, is absolutely first class. We would highly recommend Trails to anyone. Barry and Ann Vermeer

If I could give Trails of Orono more than 5 stars, I would. The staff at Trails has done an outstanding job caring for my parents. They have been available and responsive in answering any questions or concerns. Plus the food is excellent.
September 2023
Trails cared for my mother for short term stay. They treated her as though she was a long time resident. Staff competent, friendly, and considerate. Special thanks to Chris and Chelsea for making a complicated transfer so smooth. I would recommend Trails to my family and friends anytime.

Trails of Orono is a wonderful place to be. The building is surrounded by staff who are empathetic, caring, passionate about their work and always will to help. The location is perfect, near downtown Wayzata and surrounded by nature. Not to mention the wildlife outside their windows! The residents are always busy with activities inside the building and out in the community! Thank you all at Trails for the love and support you bring to family members and the residents!

My Mom has lived at Trails of Orono for 2 years and is pleased to call this her home. The staff are exceptional and go out of their way to make the residents and families feel welcome and supported. We are always impressed with all of the activities Mom can participate in daily. There are amazing outings that are planned weekly so she can be active and out in the community with fellow residents. She has made great friends and loves the caring and attentive staff. The facilities are well cared for, beautiful and their chef prepares the best meals and delicious desserts. If you are looking for a place for your loved ones to live be sure to visit Trails of Orono, you will be happy you did!

Trails of Orono is an outstanding facility. Your loved one will feel like they have found a home since the staff is beyond compare in terms of their caregiving skills and love for their residents. Trails recreational therapists plan so many engaging activities each day that the residents have lots of opportunities for fun. The activities help residents build a community of friends that almost become like family. Additionally, the food is exceptional, the skilled nursing staff is caring knowledgeable, and the management makes everything run smoothly.

I'm extremely satisfied with the care my mother is receiving at Trails. The staff is very caring and friendly.

I had my mother in another facility that dad told her to go to when he passed. I couldn't override her at the time. It turned out to be a bad experience for all of us. I knew I had to move her. I just simply got lucky to find this amazing team when they had an apartment open. My mom is still getting adjusted. She is still afraid and anxious, but she's been through a lot the last 4 months and now that she's getting regular medications, good food, and sleep, she is starting to feel better. I am hoping that as she realizes how good these people are to her, she will start to trust and not be so afraid. I'd like to echo another person's comment: the nurses and caregivers go out of their way to get to know the residents and accommodate their needs. Such a contrast from the first place we were in.

I have been a resident for three days. I moved here from another Assisted Living home. There is no comparison between the two homes. The “Trails” are simply superior in all ways, namely, the people running it, the people assisting us, the overall operation, the comfort of this place, it is awesome, I JUST LOVE IT! Mike Donohue

My husband, George, was in memory care for a year and a half at Trails before he went home to be with Jesus. Our family all agreed that Trails offered the very best Home Away From Home. I tried caring for him at home and knew the challenges his care would present. The management and staff at Trails were always SO kind and caring with him. He preferred staying in his room. They honored that, but always encouraged him to take part in the activities provided. He loved it when pets and other animals visited! In addition to the excellent care he received, our family was treated with the utmost respect. The communication between us was unquestionable. I was notified immediately if he asked to call me or if they encountered anything they thought I should know about. A team effort is important to Trails. The staff works hard to get to know each person in their care and if they learn something that makes a difference to the resident and the care they are receiving, they share that piece of information so that it can be implemented on all shifts which creates a happier environment all around. There are a multitude of facilities offering care for the elderly at this time and we researched several before selecting Trails of Orono. We felt extremely blessed that the Good Lord led us there! We are grateful to the management and staff of Trails and every effort they made to care for George...

Absolutely beautiful community! Trails of Orono is nestled in a nice little wooded area surrounded by parks and walking trails. The whole community is very cozy and has a nice small-town feel to it. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the residents are seemed very genuine and nice as well.

My favorite part of going to Trails, besides visiting my loved one, is making a genuine connection with the staff who truly care about the residents and community as a whole. It really does feel like family.

What a lovely place! Ive been to visit the Trails on a couple of occasions with my Golden Retriever. The staff and residents are so kind and appreciative of our visits. They provide an outstanding level of care and serve residents of all needs, even memory care.

Dad has been there for five years, and I cant imagine him being anywhere else. Primarily because of the staff and the care he gets there, but also because of the many amazing activities they do on a regular basis. I cant say enough about the caring, personal staff. Dad loves it there and always tells people how happy he is there and what a great place it is. What better spokes person than somebody whos lived there five years! Bess Bouley

Our mother was only at Trails of Orono Assisted Living and Memory Care for a short period of time, but we cannot begin to adequately express our appreciation for the comfort and compassion given to mom by the entire Trails staff. We moved mom to Trails because we had heard that it had a reputation within the industry insiders for the quality of its staff. It was very apparent to us from day 1 that the culture at Trails was superior and embedded in everything that the staff did during moms stay totally exceeding all of our expectations. It was very comforting for mom, our family and those close to her to know that mom was in good hands during her final days. Considering the lack of objective information available on the plethora of Senior care options, I hope other families find this review helpful in making a choice of what would be best for them-their parent(s). Despite mom being at Trails during these challenging times, (Covid, high turnover and burnout in the industry) staff really made a difference - from the maintenance man who expedited the carpet install and touching up the wall paint during the holiday week, to the care staffs extra efforts and all the way up to the management at Trails who has instilled such a positive culture - we are grateful. In these times of endless surveys, I dont know that appreciation is really heard about anymore so I am making an effort to leave positive comments out on some of the social sites to help guide others. With sincere gratitude.

My husband who has Lewy Body moved into Trails 1 year ago. He receives excellent care. The caregivers are are warm and loving. They joke and laugh with him all the time. The food is excellent. He enjoys all the activities. The nursing staff is always there to help with care issues. They are a 5 star community.

This is one of the warmest, most welcoming communities I have ever visited. The team is so amazing and the residents always seem busy and happy. Great place!

Nice senior living apartments
December 2017
New management and many changes. Not in the best interest of the residents. Just got a $297 per month raise in rent without an explanation. TV has been taken out of Lobby so residents don't hang out and look like they need assistance. They want it to be more independent living than assisted living. Anytime dining has not happened. Dining room is closed between meals. The last 3 times I have been there during the workday, the front desk is unmanned, just a sign in log. Short staffed in housekeeping and activities. They will no longer accept new residents with medical needs like insulin. OK, let me stop here, over $4K per month. is allot of money to rent an apartment. ADDENDUM: 6-7-18 New director "JEFF" is working hard to make changes. He walked into many unresolved issues and is very easy to talk to. He is putting in a work order for many issues that have been in existence for years. There has been NO increase in rent - it was a one time charge (made before Jeff arrived at Atria) that I was not made aware of and it is being credited back to my mothers account. I am optimistic that under the Direction of JEFF, things will improve dramatically. Looking forward to positive changes. Cathy

Its a GREAT place for assists living, its a good looking place of live.
December 2017
Great facility with very kind and caring staff. The mistake of one does not reflect on the facility as a whole. I would bring my loved ones here over and over again. Keep up the great work Glencroft!!
December 2017
My parents were one of the original residents of Trails of Orono which has allowed my family to observe the staff, the level of services and the management of Trails over a period of time. Without hesitation, the level of care that Trails provides to its residents is exceptional. The staff genuinely cares about the residents. Management places great emphasis on creating and maintaining a culture of "family", not just between the staff and residents but extending to the family of each resident. The facility is very comfortable and well-maintained. I am grateful that my parents call Trails their home.
December 2017
My father has been at Trails for 2.5 years. We are very pleased with the care, the activities, and the facility. The on-site medical staff and aids are professional and caring. They respond very quickly to questions and concerns. They have an accurate understanding of what my father is experiencing. The activities are exceptional. They include typical care center events such as memory games and shopping excursions. They are unique in that they offer more exercise classes than usual and an interesting lecture series which my father thoroughly enjoys. The staff is careful to check to see that he gets to the activities he chooses. The facility is small enough to be very personal and large enough to offer staff and activities that appeal to all. The building and setting are beautiful, but as anyone whose parent has been in several facilities knows, it's the staff that makes the difference. We had my father in a number of different centers which were more expensive and are very happy we moved him to Trails. The only downfall is that even though the meals appeal to my father, they have a bit too much starch. I would highly recommend Trails to others.

I'm so happy we chose The Oaks for Mom & Dad.. They're in the Independent Living and are so happy that they can stay together forever!
September 2017
I can not say enough positive comments about the Trails of Orono, their staff and employees. All are so professional, caring and compassionate. My mother recently passed away while a resident at the Trails and my father still resides there. We are so grateful for finding such a wonderful facility and all the tender, loving care they provide.
September 2017
My mother has been in memory care here for almost 2 years. I am continually amazed at the friendly, no, loving care that she receives 24-7. The staff constantly ensures she is safe and happy. Everyone has been incredibly professional, and i would highly recommend this facility. Although she isnt all with it mentally, she keeps saying how much she likes it here, how clean it is, the good food, how they treat her like a princess, etc. (She thinks it is all free too, though, lol.) I cant tell you what a relief it is to hear her say those things. Hopefully there will be an opening for your loved one when you need it.
July 2017
My mother moved in to the Trails of Orono in August of 2015. After visiting facilities in the area and exploring our options, The Trails was a clear winner. The smaller size of the facility is a plus. Mom tells us daily that she loves her Trails family and how she is so lucky to live in such a nice place. The facilities are beautiful and the staff is warm and caring. Stacy (director) and Angela (head of nursing) are always accessible and show such care for mom. Her caregivers are top notch, especially Renee and Fannie. The activities staff goes out of their way to include mom. Kudos to Julie, Lori, and Sherilynn. Cant say enough good things about The Trails Of Orono.
June 2017
This is a great facility! From the day they met Dad, to after he passed, the staff showed fantastic comfort and caring. All the staff were so helpful, administration to restaurant staff, but particularly the memory care and health personnel. Although a smaller facility than most, the sense of family and camaraderie which is part of this community was very helpful to Dad in his final year. Thank you, for your caring.
June 2017
The staff at Trails of Orono provide excellent care for my mom. They bring both skill and compassion to create a very positive experience.
June 2017
My mom moved into assisted living at Trails of Orono last summer. From the very beginning we knew we had made the right choice. The staff is so caring and made sure she was engaged in all the activities she wanted to be and felt so very welcomed. I believe the smaller size of this facility makes it special. The staff all know each resident whether they are assigned to that person or not and look out for them. The facility itself is so warm and beautiful with a setting in the woods. They have an excellent exercise program which is so important for seniors as well as various other activities and a spiritual program that is nondenominational. Most important, my mom is happy and enjoying her days. I highly recommend Trails of Orono for your loved one.
May 2017
I only got to work here for 5 months but it was a great experience! Love the residents here and made some great friends 🙂 I worked in the kitchen staff and the residents here are treated so well and everyone, including med aids, housekeeping, management, etc Do their best to meet everyone's needs and make everyone happy. I left very suddenly and wish I got to say goodbye to everyone >.< But I'll definitely be back for a visit 🙂
March 2017
My father was a resident at Trails of Orono the last 18 months of his life. He moved there after my mother passed away and he could no longer manage on his own due to a debilitating illness. He was very reluctant to make this move. My siblings and I decided on Trails of Orono after a fairly extensive search for the best facility he could afford. Trails of Orono fit all of our criteria; skilled, respectful, caring staff, an aesthetically pleasing, well maintained, clean environment, a good location allowing my 2 brothers that live locally and myself to get there often and easily. Once my father became acclimated to his new surroundings at Trails, he grew to feel safe, comfortable and content . It was a good match for him and our family. I would and have highly recommended it to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for someone important to them.
May 2016
My parents moved into assisted living together in October 2013 and my mom continues to live here since my Dad's passing in January 2016. The building is new and beautifully decorated. I simply can't say enough good things about the staff. They treat the residents and their families with respect and kindness. One of the special care attendants, Renee, took care of my dad at his death bed as if he were her own father. Others special to my dad cried when they learned of his passing. They have all looked after my mom since. Fairview services residents with on-site doctor visits and the NP, Patti, is wonderful. Pam is the on/site nurse and she's a rock. The relatively small size of the building enables a more intimate atmosphere. The activities have continued to expand now that the building is nearly full. Bus outings, bingo, exercise, music, coffee, art and games keep the residents engaged. The activities staff makes sure everyone has fun. An outdoor patio allows residents to enjoy the outdoors which is surrounded by nature. Lastly, every time I enter the building, Anna is there with a big smile and hello. If I see one "could use improvement" it's that meals and snacks aren't diabetic-friendly and fresh veggies are not a part of the regular offering. Most of the residents don't seem to mind, as they likely ate this way all their lives. All-in-all I give Trails a 5*. I am very thankful we found this place!

Great place for my dad to live. He especially enjoys the socializing at meals and the friends he's made.
