December 2023
I'm giving this place 2 stars because their OT/PT/Dysphasia Team are awesome! Can't say enough good things about them. BUT the nursing staff, is a whole other story. My mother was there 8 days following a traumatic open-heart surgery and ended up back in the hospital, again, now with retained fluids around her heart/lungs, which now has affected her kidney making it work harder; congestive heart failure. Of course, a cardiac patient MUST have a HEART Healthy diet, low sodium, which DID NOT happen. Repeatedly I asked/questioned this, which they stated because she is on a soften, bite size diet, the options were limited. So, if you couldn't accommodate, then why would you accept the referral?!?! Then, she wasn't getting her meds in the morning, she would get it close to 10am many times and then her 2nd dose on some that required in the afternoon, would get on top of the 1st dose, how is her body supposed to process/space this out, then wouldn't receive that diuretic til the next morning again, LATE. SO, on top of salty food and not getting her diuretic as she should, no wonder she retained fluids and ended up back it the hospital, they could have killed her had we not brought her into the hospital. NOT a place for CARDIAC Patients.
