My mother who suffered from Alzheimers was a resident at the Fridley White Pine location for 5+ years. It's not easy to care for a dementia victim as they advance through the horrible stages of the disease. Family members are victims too in different ways. Primary care providers require very unique skills to create a loving, dignified and safe environment. White Pine has a such staff. Another family member has been at White Pine for 4+ years in the assisted living section. Many staff members are still there since my mother's arrival. From management, to nurses, care providers, food service, maintenance, that speaks volumes! So, we are once again blessed!

my dad has been there for almost 4 years now. i love how the staff loves the residents and knows who they are and there families. i saw other facilities and i loved how small and quaint it is. Also that it was noisy meaning residents were out of there rooms and doing activities. the one con i had is that there is no nurses on the weekend. also the team Ann, sonya hilda and ginger are so loving and kind. they were amazing about how they handled taking care to talk to us when my dad had to go to memory care.

The White Pines is a wonderful place to have take care of your loved one. My sister was here for just under a year before she passed away suddenly from Cancer. Between the months of April and June of 2025, my brother (79 years young) experienced several falls resulting in head injuries, brain damage and a stroke leaving him with a paralyzed right side. After being hospitalized several times, my brother was admitted into a Hospice Program in a Care Facility in Osseo. As a result of the stroke and being paralyzed he could not feed himself, nor speak or even sit in a chair properly. Also, my brother does not have teeth and as a result his food must be prepared accordingly. I found the Osseo location totally unacceptable given his challenges. A room was available at White Pines Assisted Living in Fridley. Once contacted the Administrator/Manager, Assistant Manager, & Nursing staff worked feverishly processing paperwork for my brother’s admission. Since June 26, 2025, they have all taken all necessary steps to ensure that my brothers stay be the best it can possibly be, including special meals prepared for him by the Chefs. This is the most beautiful facility I have ever seen, maintained daily, inside and out, with the care one would give their own home. There are several areas to comfortably sit while watching TV, reading a book, visiting with family/friends, or simply relaxing while enjoying the plants and the many adorable fish in the large fish tank. Resident Rooms are spacious with personal half baths. There are several patio areas with tables and comfortable chairs. Beautiful plants and flowers surrounding the patio areas as well as the building. Through the consistent loving care my brother is receiving at White Pines Assisted Living in Fridley, he is no longer in the Hospice Program, has regained almost total use of his right side, talking, feeding himself and learning how to walk again. My brother is receiving care with the respect and compassion every human being deserves. He is no longer on the brink of death. Fran Linc

White Pine Fridley is a senior facility with a memory care unit. I feel very positive about WP. I first heard about WP in 2015-2016 when I was exploring options for my 95-year-old mother who had dementia. Someone had told me to definitely not go to WP. I checked out about five different places and decided to check out WP for comparison purposes. I found WP to be perfect. As a Social Worker I felt my assessment skills were fine tuned. My brother, also a Social Worker, from the Chicago area came and was in agreement. We were both impressed by WP. We tried to find why it had the bad review and we couldn't. Eventually I came to understand it was under former administration that it wasn't doing well. My mother did eventually move into WP. I came often and continued to be on the look out for anything concerning. I never found it. My mother's life ended at WP. The staff all treated my Mom so well as well as me as I was dealing with her time on hospice. Fast forward.....I trained our dog as a therapy dog in 2023. I knew volunteering at WP was high on my list. I've been going to WP visiting people with my therapy dog since then. I'm there several times each month. I continue to keep my eyes open and I still find WP to be an excellent senior facility.

Our family has been involved with assisted living and memory care facilities for 6 years. I can honestly recommend White Pine Fridley because the care staff are so great, super friendly and truly caring. The director Ann and assistant director Sonya along with a great NURSING (GINGER, KIA,BUMI AND HILDA) are always kind and professional. This facility is very quick to address any issues or concerns. Families need to be in PARTNERSHIP with the staff no matter where you move to. It's part of what is NEEDED to have your loved ones feel we are all working on their health, wellness and happiness.

My mother has been a resident of White Pine Advanced Assisted Living for almost 2 years. I can only express my great appreciation for the holistic care my mother receives at this facility. Ann Maciej and her entire staff work hard as a team on a daily basis. The medical care is very professional. All my mother’s medical and social life needs have been met. It is easy to obtain daily services. The place is kept very clean and is decorated with great taste. My mother feels very safe and loved there. The daily meals are tasty and nicely balanced nutritionally. There are daily activities organized for residents such as bingo, movie night, uno or yahtzee games which are well planned by a professional occupational therapist. The smaller size of the building helps to create family like atmosphere among staff and residents. I would recommend White Pine of Fridley Assisted Living to anyone seeking excellent care for their loved one. My sister and I toured a lot of Memory Care places. We were drawn to White Pines, because it looked so fresh and clean and Memory Care had activeties planned all day long for the people which we didn't see at other places. The nurses and aids were professional and always treated everyone with compassion and dignity. I learned so much watching everyone with my mom. This was a new process for us and I want to give the nurse Kia, a special thank you! She really listened when we had questions and always carried through with concerns. I loved visiting my mom there and enjoyed everyone! Dementia is probably the hardest event the residents have gone through in their lives and White Pines Memory Care does an excellent job caring for residents and help them feel safe. This second review is from my sister, Lori Jacobson: The staff at White Pine Memory Care are phenominal! They show constant love, caring and support to each and every resident. The staff have a lot of knowledge about dementia and are able to meet the resident and family exactly where they are at with process. I want to really give a big shout out to Nurse Randi, she is Excellent! Every day I saw her, she was Amazing with residents and family! White Pine Memory Care is very homey, the rooms are a great size, the whole place smells Wonderful, very clean, the food is Great and the residents really like all the activities. They are very dedicated to comfort, good care and safety for the residents. Our whole family was so happy to find a place like this for our mom.

My mother was a resident at White Pine Memory Care in Fridley. Our experience with the staff and facility was outstanding. The staff were professional and treated us like their own family. My mother was always treated with dignity and respect, and our family knew mom was in a very safe and loving place. The activities were appropriate and well planned. I enjoyed spending time with my mother during visits from local musicians. I visited often and she was part of a loving community. The food was tasty and the staff handled meals very well. The building is one level which is nice. The patios and backyard garden allow you to get outside and enjoy nature. The onsite beauty salon is a plus. Having doctor visits on site helped mom get the best medical care without worry of transport. I highly recommend White Pine based on our experience.

I think it all depends. It is a very nice, comfortable atmosphere and that is what drew us. I also think if people needed limited care it would be fine. My dad needed more care than this place could provide, due to lack of staff and expertise. I guess all places don't provide all levels of care, but my gripe is that they should have done a better assessment when they took him in. I assume if they said they were able to take him in they would provide the requisite care, but they were not set up to. I guess bottom line is its probably an OK place for limited care needs, for more severe cases they do not have the capability. I would give them a three, but giving a two as they should have realized they did not have the capability to provide him proper care when they accepted him.

Mom was a resident of White Pines Fridley for about 15 months. I knew we were fortunate to have mom living in this facility but while preparing for her funeral and talking to friends and family about her passing it has become even more apparent how blessed we were to be part of the White Pines family. I have lots of people to be thankful for there - the management style, the knowledge and support of the nursing staff, the cooks and cleaners, and especially the loving and caring support that the aides and assistants give the residents every day. The staff truly works as a team with the goal of providing comfort and care to each resident every day. They meet them on their level and in their space and time. They encourage, laugh and cry with them. They help set realistic expectations and support the residents through each stage of their decline. And then they are there to support and hold the family in our grief. Thank you to each and every White Pines staff for the patience and kindness you showed to me (and other members of our family) while I learned about dementia care and treatment, for helping me to have realistic expectations of mom and what the staff can do for them, for helping me understand what its like living with dementia in an assisted living environment, for guiding me through the disease process itself, and for helping me give mom what she needed to feel safe and loved in final days of life. I count my blessings often and when I get to mom, I count White Pines twice.

If I had known a few months ago what is known today, Mom would never have been placed in White Pine in Fridley. Although medical personnel and staff were obviously highly qualified and caring, the Fridley facility is poorly managed, understaffed and has a high turnover rate. In addition, written & verbal communication between management, staff and family members is inconsistent, inadequate and, at times, wrong. While White Pine may appear more affordable, Mom ultimately paid the price.
