We moved to Summit Place from North Dakota one year ago in order to be closer to family. That has proven to be a wonderful experience! The location of the facility is great, the staff are unbelievably friendly - and skilled, the activities and programs are geared to appeal to many interests, and the buildings and apartments are well maintained and up to date. My wife loves the swimming pool and exercise related activities here, and I appreciate the freedom from lawn care, maintenance, etc. Our 'neighbors' in the community are friendly and they come with many interesting life experiences. This is a very good place to be. We feel fortunate to have 'found' Summit Place.

All the good things about Summit Place came into focus last evening at the Summer Backyard Barbecue. This place is blessed with a wonderful staff working together like a well oiled machine to provide the best life possible for us residents. How lucky we are!

I moved here from Texas to be close to my daughter and family. She knew about Summit Place and was able to get me a room. I have lived here 4 years and I can honestly say - It is the best decision I've ever made. The staff is incredible!! Like in the TV show CHEERS - everyone knows your name. Each person has their own story.....it is so interesting to hear about their lives. I could be busy 8 hours a day with all the activities available here. The food is wonderful, the games are so funny. I played CHAIR VOLLEYBALL last week. It was a hoot! We have live music every Friday! There is even a church chapel downstairs which I attend because I don't have a car. The staff just had a barbeque last night for the entire building(s). It was outdoors, live music, great food and so many people brought their families. I could go on and on, but please take my word for it..................there isn't a senior living center anywhere like Summit Place. Sunny Gadway

Summit Place was such a pleasant surprise! From the moment we arrived for our tour, it felt like home. We were welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness by the staff, and the residents were just as friendly and inviting. The Wellness Center exceeded our expectations”it is absolutely beautiful, featuring a large pool and brand-new fitness equipment that rivals many health clubs. We were especially impressed by the variety of events and activities. The calendar was one of the most robust we've seen, filled with thoughtfully planned opportunities for residents to stay active, social, and engaged. The outdoor space was another standout. The backyard is peaceful, private, and beautifully landscaped, with raised garden beds lovingly cared for by the residents themselves. One moment, however, truly captured the spirit of Summit Place. As we walked through the lobby, a resident was playing the grand piano while his wife sang beside him. It wasn't staged or planned”it was simply a beautiful, heartfelt moment that reflected the warmth, joy, and sense of community we felt throughout our visit.

Summit Place was the perfect spot for our parents! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the facility is beautiful and very well maintained. We were always kept up to date with communication throughout our parent's stay. On top of this, the music and activities were very entertaining! I highly recommend Summit Place to anyone that is looking for independent living, assisted living or memory care for their loved ones.

I recently stayed at Summit Place Assisted Living residence for one month of respite care while my wife took an extended vacation. I use a power wheelchair for mobility and do not drive, so staying at Summit Place was a good decision. We appreciated the opportunity to view the apartment I would reside in prior to starting the intake process. The furnished studio apartment met my needs, and I brought in a few of my own assistive devices. I received assistance from aides for showers and my bedtime routine. I had stayed at Summit Place Assisted Living for respite care three years earlier and readily agreed to the selection of Summit Place Assisted Living because of my enjoyable stay on that occasion for two months. I heartily recommend Summit Place for Assisted Living Respite Care. What made Summit Place such an enjoyable experience for me? There are many reasons: Staff “ administration, recreation, nursing, and attendants. People don’t have to work at Summit Place; they want to work there. The more I interacted with various staff people, the more I could sense their deep commitment to the residents. Programming “ well-thought-out programs every resident can participate in, something for everyone is an understatement, including games “ word, math, various forms of solution-seeking, poker, scrabble, lectures and info sessions, music, and various interest groups. I appreciated the option to participate in activities if and when I wanted. No pressure, no requirements. And I sampled many of them! I took advantage of the fitness room and scheduled a couple of sessions with a personal trainer. Friendships “ It would be hard to feel lonely at Summit unless one chose to be alone. Socialization is encouraged and facilitated by both staff and residents. During mealtimes and activities, I engaged in stimulating discussions with people who have led active and interesting lives. Everyone welcomed me as a newcomer to the residence. Books “ I am a big reader and I often visited the well-stocked library. A staff member manages current books available from the Eden Prairie branch of the Hennepin County Library. I was able to make a specific request for a book from the public library “ without a library card, no overdues and no fines. Food/meals “ I ate well! I never had a complaint about the food. The food service staff were friendly and accommodating. Location “ Summit Place is an inviting campus. The large building fits in neatly to the woods behind it. I took advantage of the gathering spaces, walking and wheeling paths, as well as the quiet outdoor spaces. All in all, I had another enjoyable short-term stay at Summit Place. I felt like I was coming back to a place where people knew me and were glad to see me. And being there allowed my wife to enjoy her time away, knowing that I was having fun in a safe place.

I went to visit Summit Place and was pleasantly surprised at every step of my tour. Kaylan was so knowledgeable and answered my questions, as well as my son's questions, without hesitation. After several days of visiting senior homes and apartments, I decided that Summit Place was the best fit for me and my family/friends. I am very pleased about my decision and look forward to moving to Summit Place in the near future!

I looked at 7 new senior facilities in a search for living with my wife. In all the new ones none had an indoor swimming pool,which I needed for my wife to have for physical therapy. The Summit has 2 indoor pools! But the most important difference of all...this place is like a big family! After a very short time you feel your in the right place, and its because everybody cares for each other...staff, employees, and all the rest of us, greet, and treat each other as family. There are newer facilities in the Twin Cities but I found none that made you feel "you were home!"

On my inquiries on things that need fixing I got the same comment, we’ll do it this fall. I have dead branches, a bush that badly needs trimming, a door to the patio that needs to be fixed or replaced, the front door trim that needs painting badly, and a large crack on the cement apron going into the garage. In addition to these projects trash removal is unpredictable. For example, everyone here has full trash containers that have not been picked up for 4 days.

It is ridiculous how that face went up this year, they said it was because of inflation, but none of their prices have gone up for themselves, and they are not doing any more work than they usually do. It is outrageous. They are just lining their pockets.!! The facility is clean, however. The staff who help the residents is decent but rest of the staff is marginal, at best. They are not getting paid more. Just the upper paid people are getting paid more, and still they are charging more this year per patient. But the services there and help are all still the same, yet the price to live there went up Legal robbery. Of older folks!!

My Mother-in-Law lives at Summit Place. Their are 2 very nice guest rooms for visitors to spend the night. The cost is reasonable and the rooms are very nice. Summit Place is very well designed and operated. Full dining room for dinner. A bistro for informal breakfast, lunch, or snacks. Full exercise room with lots of weight and aerobic machines. Large, inside heated pool. Extensive activities planned daily. Senior living at it's best.
