I looked at 7 new senior facilities in a search for living with my wife. In all the new ones none had an indoor swimming pool,which I needed for my wife to have for physical therapy. The Summit has 2 indoor pools! But the most important difference of all...this place is like a big family! After a very short time you feel your in the right place, and its because everybody cares for each other...staff, employees, and all the rest of us, greet, and treat each other as family. There are newer facilities in the Twin Cities but I found none that made you feel "you were home!"

On my inquiries on things that need fixing I got the same comment, "we'll do it this fall". I have dead branches, a bush that badly needs trimming, a door to the patio that needs to be fixed or replaced, the front door trim that needs painting badly, and a large crack on the cement apron going into the garage. In addition to these projects trash removal is unpredictable. For example, everyone here has full trash containers that have not been picked up for 4 days.

It is ridiculous how that face went up this year, they said it was because of inflation, but none of their prices have gone up for themselves, and they are not doing any more work than they usually do. It is outrageous. They are just lining their pockets.!! The facility is clean, however. The staff who help the residents is decent but rest of the staff is marginal, at best. They are not getting paid more. Just the upper paid people are getting paid more, and still they are charging more this year per patient. But the services there and help are all still the same, yet the price to live there went up… Legal robbery. Of older folks!!

My Mother-in-Law lives at Summit Place. Their are 2 very nice guest rooms for visitors to spend the night. The cost is reasonable and the rooms are very nice. Summit Place is very well designed and operated. Full dining room for dinner. A bistro for informal breakfast, lunch, or snacks. Full exercise room with lots of weight and aerobic machines. Large, inside heated pool. Extensive activities planned daily. Senior living at its best.
