I was walking through the common area yesterday and your staff member Julie . I Ilooked at her badge to see who she was and she was talking to a lady in a pink jacket and in a wheelchair the lady asked her how she likes working here Julie said she loves it! I was in visiting a friend yesterday and Julie in life enrichment was making the residents smile and laughing and encouraging them to participate in her activities! When I was leaving she was sitting down with the men around 1:30 she had them laughing! Keep this girl she is doing amazing job and I can tell she loves her job so very much! I have been completely satisfied with having my family member at Independence Village of White Lake. The staff, meals, care and personal attention that is provided is exceptional. The Executive Director Stephanie and the Nurse Director, Donna both go above and beyond to spend time with residents and make them a part of their family at the Village. It is a relief to have a family member staying there and knowing I can relax and get some rest while knowing they are safe and cared for. The activities are abundant and appropriate for the physical and mental health of the residents. Dave who drives the Independent Village van provides a variety of options to safely transport residents for optional groceries and other personal needs. He is also known to provide assistance in other areas including escorting seniors on walks around the grounds that are beautifully kept with a variety of flowers. The other day I walked by the front entrance and saw the Executive Director, Stephanie taking time to provide gardening where the residents have a sitting area to enjoy the weather and meet new friends. Do not move your parents or yourself in here. It is currently 85+ degrees outside and we do not have any air-conditioning because they have not turned it on yet in the building. It's currently 95+ degrees in our apartment. We pay way too much rent to suffer in the heat. We have no date when they will give us some relief. This is torture

Pandora, the community specialist, was absolutely amazing. She was informative and a complete delight to talk to. I felt completely comfortable with both the beautiful community they have and the staff. She personally vouched for their care team. I feel comfortable bringing one of the most important persons in ours lives there, for her care as she ages. Thank you. I’m almost positive we will be seeing you soon.

We have had the best experience with all of the staff at Independence Village as we are transitioning my in-laws. Pandora is a rock star, always available for us, with a huge smile, great optimism and truly seems to care about her clients, the family and has everyone’s best interest in mind! She’s a doll, and so far, everyone staff member we have encountered has been welcoming and friendly. We feel so good about this move and look forward to our time there with the family!

Facility is clean and inviting. Food is excellent. Rooms have full kitchens and great pond view. Excellent Activities Calendar. The residents appeared to be happy and satisfied.Washers and dryers on each floor. Three Elevators!

While our mother was at IV for a short time (4 months), the care she received was extraordinary. The staff were always attentive and passionate in their interactions/care with Mom. Sweet Sherry was so happy when mom returned from a hospital stay, she insisted on taking mom back to her apartment and getting her settled. This place really does care. Donna and Kiera lead by a passionate example that shows in the whole staff. From the kitchen that remembers everyone's name and their favorite dessert to those on the front lines who take the extra 5 minutes for a family member's concern and made sure Mom's tv was on the right channel for Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy.

I had a wonderful experience when I met with Pandora Hall, Community Specialist, at Independence Village of White Lake last week! She provided me with a folder & reviewed the information, a gift bag and then a full tour of the building. The residents happened to be gathered at Happy Hour and appeared to be enjoying live music with their cocktail. The apartments are nice, meals are included in a lovely dining room and there are many other activities, services and amenities available. I was impressed and highly recommend this Village for Senior Living.

My mother and I had a very short window of time to find the right place for my uncle, and Pandora was with us every step of the way. She has a rare combination of professionalism, genuine care and passion for her job. From our first phone call, through two meetings (one of which required an immense amount of patience!) and the move-in, she has just been the most amazing source of calm, lovely leadership through this process. We're excited for my uncle's future and have such hope that his life will improve at this special community.

We just had a WONDERFUL Easter dinner at Independence Village with our mom and our entire family of 12. The food was fabulous, staff is amazing and we all said it was the best Easter Brunch we’ve had! I can’t say enough about Independence, my mom loves interacting with the residents and staff and she is safe.

Not happy with it. It is getting old and requires a lot of maintenance. It houses independent, assisted, and dementia residents without any barriers so you never know wheadinho you are talking with. I have lived in senior housing where the residents are are separated, much more comfortable. Short on staff which is leading to reduced services.

If your loved one or family is making a choice in the White Lake / Commerce Twp. area, there is not a better team to help provide care and peace of mind with caring for those you love the most. I have two very complex elders that depend on a lot of additional care we as a family would find difficult to provide ourselves. We have had at least one relative live at Independence Village for almost a decade, even through the Covid-19 Pandemic, and could never imagine another facility taking on this responsibility. They have been caring, loving, and most of all professional through some of the hardest most difficult times in history to provide care. Independence Village of White Lake is definitely best in class in a very crowded industry. Thank you Independence Village White Lake for a job well done. Our family will forever remember the ease of mind you have provided us, through our time of need. And keeping our relatives clean, safe and fully engaged in their lives, we couldn't ask for more.

Mom has lived at Independence Village White Lake for almost 8 years. She has been able to maintain her independence and make her own choices. The activity selections are great and she loves chair volleyball, the music and being able to walk outside in good weather. While initially she was happy to fix all of her own meals, she now enjoys dinner with the other residents - again making her own choices based on desire and needs. The staff are supportive, kind, understanding and don't marginalize the residents. Mom is happy we found IV and her family knows she is happy and safe.

I have been Visiting a resident on and off for 6 years I've been to a lot of facilities....And Independent Village of White Lake is the best one I've ever been too!!!....The workers Are phenomenal....They treat everybody like family!!!! Independence Village is one of the most welcoming senior homes I've ever visited. The staff was absolutely incredible! The Executive Director, the Wellness Director, all of the staff in between, and the residents as well, were all so welcoming and kind. It was so refreshing to see all of the smiling faces on the residents, especially with the hard times we've all been facing with COVID-19. I would 100% recommend Independence Village to anyone looking for a safe, friendly, and lovely place to send their loved ones!!!

Independence Village of White Lake is the only senior living community in White Lake and offers both independent living and enhanced living. The staff is amazing and provides excellent care. We have been in White Lake since 2000 and have lots of experience caring for seniors and enhancing their lives--from the food to the activities to the staff -this is a first class community with a caring staff!!!!

My mother in law, my father and my stepmother all lived at IV White Lake. The care they received was exceptional, the staff were so compassionate and kind to them in every way. Apartments are lovely and the food is outstanding, we shared many meals with them while they were there and couldn't believe the quality. All 3 loved the food and I never heard a complaint. They have very little turnover in staff so they form a relationship with the residents and are so professional. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I really enjoy playing the piano at Independence Village of White Lake. The residents are always very friendly and appreciate the entertainment. All of the staff are very professional. There is a Sunday Brunch Buffet the third Sunday of each month. This is a great way to spend time with the residents, resident families, friends, and staff. The food is always amazing! I would recommend Independence Village to all seniors that are either independent or that need assistance. Laurus Home Care can provide many different types of services if needed.

No one wants to make a choice about assisted living, however, Ellen and the entire staff made the choice and transition easy for my 95 year old uncle. They have been there for us through the ups and downs of his health problems recently and have solutions for any problem. It's more than choosing an apartment, it's about choosing care. Donna and Laurie on the health care side are great at their jobs because they really do care. All the staff have been wonderful.
