I was very impressed by how I was greeted by the staff upon my arrival. They had a welcome board with my name on it and they treated me with kindness. The facility was beautiful. I noticed that the areas such as the game room and dining areas were open with no doors restricting residents from entering. That was important to me as my mother has mobility issues. So opening doors is a challenge. Plus, that shows that residents are welcome anywhere without restrictions.

Deserving of 10 Stars! From the moment you are welcomed in the door you know this is the right environment for your loved one. EVERY staff member knows every residence's name, they take the time to speak with them and to interact with them. Not because it's their job but because they genuinely care for the peoples of this community. I feel this is in part because of General Manager, Shereida Radney's leadership. This staff interacts and communicates with one another as I have never seen before. The residents themselves, also care for one another and are very welcoming to a new resident. When my, very introverted, aunt moved in several people asked me "How can I help her be more comfortable?" "How is your aunt adjusting, is there anything I can do to help?" The whole community is truly a breath of fresh air! They really enjoy their Independence Village family! Outside of all that, it is an exceptionally clean, beautiful facility. I highly recommend you check out this community for your loved one or yourself. You'll be glad you did.

The staff here are truly caring and compassionate. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they genuinely care about the people they serve. They are attentive, kind, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported. The cleanliness of the facility is absolutely amazing. The cleaners do a fantastic job keeping everything spotless, fresh, and welcoming. It’s clear they take pride in their work, and it really shows throughout the entire building. On top of that, the food is great! The meals are well-prepared, tasty, and thoughtfully put together. Overall, this is a wonderful place with dedicated staff, excellent cleanliness, and enjoyable food. Highly recommended!

What a blessing! Our family lit-up upon arrival. The residents are vivacious and delightful. The staff is attentive and helpful. This is truly an all-inclusive community. Style, CLEAN, supportive, oh, so much more. The food, three meals a day served like a top notch restaurant and the food is delicious! Fresh food. We are recommending to everyone. And affordable. Everything is newly remodeled. The apartments are exactly what we needed and more. We never expected so much! We are so happy. Just to add on, my mother in law gets so excited talking about her meals, how over the top delicious they are. All home made. It is something that she goes on in detail all the time. Also, we check in on her often. She is rarely in her room. They have activities all day, every day. She is always active. It has been six months and we are still as delighted as we were from the beginning!

My sister really liked Independence Village of Waterford. Tiffany was GREAT. The rooms we saw were nice and had what she needs. The food served at lunch was quite good. The facility is undergoing some renovations, so some things are a little untidy right now (but hey, ya' can't make an omelet without breaking an egg). The facility could use another elevator for the residents. Other than that, it seemed like a good fit for my sister.

We checked out this facility when we got an invitation and we thought it would be perfect for our dad. He gets a lot more exercise and much better food than his previous place. We love the staff and they're always there at a moment's notice with any questions to be answered or any concerns. They are very helpful and seem to care for all the residents. I love the fact that there's programs every day for exercise and games. My dad loves to play cards so there's always somebody playing cards. I hope that Dad is happy there for the rest of his years

I researched many places before deciding to move my dad into a senior community. What initially felt like a difficult decision became much easier after speaking with Tiffani. She was incredibly accommodating and truly worked with both my dad’s and my needs. The move-in process had its challenges”my dad had a last-minute change of heart. However, just a day later, he came around, and now, after only four days in the community, he hasn’t stopped talking about how much he enjoys it. He constantly raves about the delicious food and the kindness of everyone around him. I can’t say enough about how supportive and helpful the staff has been. Shereida, Tiffani, Nicole, and Marissa have all been so welcoming and friendly. Aubrey even encouraged my dad to sign up for an outing to the DIA”something I never imagined he would do! Seeing him engaged in activities is truly a wonderful surprise and a blessing for our family. We are beyond grateful to have found such an amazing community for my dad. Thank you to the entire team for making this transition so positive!

My mother has been at Independence Village for 5.5 years. Shereida and Tiffani are the absolute best managers ever. Actually, the whole staff (including Preferred Senior Care) has been very accommodating and helpful. It's a lovely facility with lots of fun activities. I highly recommend it for independent seniors!

My sisters and I toured many places for our elderly parents. This place is amazing! Tiffany has gone out of her way to accommodate us. The residents we spoke with are all happy and clearly the staff genuinely cares for them. The apartments are beautiful and well taken care of. We were referred to Independence Village by an agency that was helping us with a search for our mother who has very specific needs and not a large budget. To say we were pleasantly surprised with all of the amenities, how nice the facility is, and flexibility of being able to meet different level of care needs would be an understatement. From the time we walked in the door Tiffani and Shereida set our mind at ease that Mom would be comfortable, safe and well cared for. They also were able to work within her budget. We had been working with Tiffany for over a year on considering moving my dad in. When circumstances were right, we finally went and took the tour. This place is a MUST see! If we had gone sooner, he would have moved in sooner. Tiffany is so personable and kind and easy to work with. She cares about people. It isn’t just a sale for her. It’s so refreshing. This is one of the greatest places for an independent senior! I searched all over with my family for a nice, safe, and inviting place. When we walked in Cass Lake and met Tiffani and the other staff and fell in love with the community! My father has become a new person here. He is happy and enjoying his new home and surroundings! My dad has been at The Inn for 3 years now. I had to move him from Port Huron where he lived for 25 years. When I moved him I didn’t know how sick he was, he hid it from us. But the care he got from his caregiver Valerie was great, she went the extra mile to care for him. I have referred many people to come see The Inn and check it out. Dad is very social and loves to sit with his favorites in the dining room. He loves the food they serve, and has no problem telling them when it wasn’t soft enough to chew. He just turned 100 and they had a beautiful lunch for him with the residents & his family and entertainment. He loves to chat with everyone and is a happy to live at The Inn they have activities and entertainment if you choose to participate. It’s very clean, and Shereida and her staff are kind and helpful if you or the resident have an issue, it gets resolved. Dad loves it there and I’m happy he’s there. He’s living his best life!

My mom and I went on a tour of the facility on Oct. 3rd and was so impressed i was compelled to write this review. Jasimine, the sales manager, was amazing! She not only discussed with us all our option, apartment availability/pricing but she also pushed my mom around in a wheel chair for our tour. We met the chef who was extremely nice and discussed cooking with my mom (a former caterer and southern cook). We are in the process of reviewing all the necessary information, but it is looking like she will be moving in soon. I'll post another updte after she becomes a resident at The Inn at Cass Lake.

My overall assesment of this place was low until I spoke with the manager. She is very helpful. If it were down to her alone, I would give her 5 stars. But the home health service has poor communication, with significant delays in status updates of your loved one. That is why I am giving the facility a lower rating.

The Inn at Cass Lake has been so great for my mom and dad! The staff and nurses care so much for my parents who have been living there for the past few years. My mom and dad feel so safe, well cared for and love all of the activities they plan for the residents. During covid, Shereida and staff have been providing a very safe place for them with restrictions in place to protect both residents and staff members. Both of my folks are really thriving in this community and I feel so fortunate knowing that my parents are so well cared for.

I recently attended a "Beatles Review" event here and was impressed with how lively the residents were, and how they enjoyed the evening. I could definitely see my mother enjoying herself with the residents at The Inn at Cass Lake!

My mother has been at this independent living resort for 20 years, they provide activities, entertainment, transportation, cleaning, and food...it is an all inclusive and self contained environment. Lots to do and people to interact with...much better for my mother than being home alone.

My family member has lived there almost a year. Nice facility. BUT From out of state, we communicate with her several times a week. Increasingly the conversations are centered around the food service. Menu items run out, over cooked gray vegetables, temperature inapropriate, lack of choices for simple items ie: salads or baked potato, focus on fresh food lacking, heavy basis on grains & high calorie fried food. For example, this past Saturday evening, braised beef & peas ran out. Wait staff returned to take second order at that time all vegetables ran out. My family member chose salmon & only accompaniment available was cous cous. The salmon served dry, cool to the touch & overcooked. My family member considered it inedible & returned to the apartment alone & had a TV dinner. My family member's requests for a dinner salad or cup of yogurt gets turned down & even without knowing the menu status of things running out a baked Idaho or sweet potato has to be ordered in advance. I sincerely hope the newer chefs town meetings with residents help to improve the food service curve. On another note could you get the resident some tarter sauce for her fish. Godspeed
