My mom has been at Brookdale for close to 3 years. The staff has been wonderful and attentive. I was really impressed with the way they handled the pandemic and the precautions that they took. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family member.

Coming back to leave a review because i worked for agency here for a while. The MEMORY CARE unit is ran by a lady named Shayna (forgive me if i spelled it wrong) & she is amazing!!!! After working at several buildings, i realized she was one of the best supervisors. She’s organized, sweet, helpful and she LOVES her residents. She never lets anything go wrong. If this place wasn’t so far from me, i’d definitely work here.

Making the decision to move mom from an independant living facility to a memory care unit was very hard. I checked with several places and Brookdale of Troy stood out for several reasons. First of all I had a recommendation from a friend who's mom was there several years ago. I also found out that a lot of the staff at Troy Brookdale have been there for many years. I felt that spoke volumes. I then set up a visit. Mike Crane from Troy Brookdale helped us out a lot. He set up a visit in which he introduced us to a lot of the staff and showed us around and helped in deciding which type of room would be best for mom. Everyone was very professional , friendly and caring. Mom is there now and doing well. The adjustment wasn't easy for mom or for me either but the staff at Brookdale has made it a great experience. They are so caring for their residents and for the families as well. They have made the transition as easy as it could be. I have to say that I was concerned about moving my 100 year old mother who is developing dementia but now that she's been there a short time I know it was the right move. I have to give a special thanks to Dorthy who is one of the care givers. She saw me one day and could tell that I was not having a good day. She took me aside and explained about dementia. It was a big help. And also Ruby who gave mom a manicure her first morning. The staff makes sure all the residents get to know one another so everyone feels comfortable. These are just some of the examples of how the staff is at Brookdale. Thanks Mike for helping us out. Coleman and Ann Kendall

My mother moved here in October, 2019. She has started a new, positive chapter of her life by being here. Alissa, the Executive Director goes to great lengths to engage her in the activities my mother might like. My mom finds the staff kind, and her fellow residents helpful, friendly and interesting. She enjoys the company of others, and also enjoys being in the peace of her own room. This has been a great fit for her, and is allowing her to be more independent and cared for at the same time. Renata the nurse works to stay ahead of what she needs, and Georgie, the activities director is ever patient with keeping her phone and TV remote working. We are grateful to the staff of Brookdale as they work hard to keep her healthy and enjoying life.

Brookdale of Troy is in a very nice metropolitan area next to a high school and several office buildings, but the building itself is very home-like. The staff is phenomenal, and the director is very involved and isn't just a salesperson. She's just amazing. It's top of the line and very clean. The rooms are small, but they provide some furnishings, like the bed and the night stand. They buy a new comforter and bedding set for all the new residents. They have nice little homey touches like that. Their layout is a little different from others. It's a multi-floor facility with corridors or neighborhoods which had separate dining areas for each little hallway area, so it wasn't so overwhelming. There were 20 to 30 people in that dining section, so it enabled you to get to know all your neighbors without being overwhelmed. They tried to place you with people in similar situations, so that was nice. The memory care looked great, and they had excellent outdoor facilities like covered porches. The staff that we passed were extremely friendly. I have a beverage and a snack, like some cookies, cheese, and crackers. They have a little snack bar for the residents and fresh water all over the place and little coffee stations, so that was nice. The food portions and presentation looks great. The coordinator, Brooke, has gone well beyond and above. She has helped me throughout my search, even though I didn't choose their place. She has been there supporting me emotionally with the patient kind ear. She has dealt with several families in the past going through a similar situation that we are. She was just an amazing resource professionally, and I was extremely impressed.

I like the location of Brookdale Troy, its staff, and that it's one floor. They serve all three meals.

I loved this place when I worked. This is the place that got my foot in the door. Since then I've been at multiple communities. Care giving is my passion and I love Evey bit of it. I have a lot of experience now families hate to see me leave. Thanks so much

Brookdale Troy (formerly Wynwood of Troy) was very nice with friendly staff but were too expensive. The rooms were fine, adequate, and comfortable. I didn't have any problems with the dining room. For activities, they had music, puzzles, and outside groups visit.

I am impressed with Brookdale Troy because its a smaller facility, so I think Mom would get more attention there. They check on residents every three hours, they said. Their pricing includes everything the residents need.

My dad is at Brookdale Troy. Everything is great; everything is very good there. They're really good. I'm impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Brookdale Troy is a great place and it is good for my dad. Overall, my dad is happy there, we're all happy that he's there, and it is working out very good.

Wynwood of Troy was beautiful. They had entertainment and a good menu, and its all carpeted and looked like someones house. The people were friendly, but its just was very expensive; I dont know if the average person could afford that. The care looked good, and the people looked happy. Its clean, there is no smell, and everybody is nice. The food looks like a restaurant.

My father was in the Troy facility. Fantastic place - I can not say more about the ALL of the staff and managment who were truely caring. They worked with hospice seamlessly - reasonably priced

I like Wynwood of Troy. It was a clean facility. The staff members that I ran into were really friendly. Unfortunately, they don't have any two-bedrooms which my mom wanted.

Wynwood is a beautiful, very well maintained and very clean facility. They are very good to my mom and they're very nice people. I'm very happy with them. Mom's not crazy with the food but I tried it and I thought it was good. They could improve on their entrance, they did a renovation but I couldn't understand their entrance and that needs help.

Caring
Wynwood of Troy is a nice establishment for those in need of assisted living. I found the lodgings to be very hospitable. I've actually lived in expensive apartments that weren't nearly as clean. It brings me peace of mind to think that the staff here really understands that this could be the final years of its residents, and it is important to offer them the best care. I think that care happens on a daily basis at this facility. I thought that the overall vibe of the residents was positive and I didn't hear any complaints or sense any unrest during my visit. I was there to see a great uncle of mine and he had just recently moved in. So far, he is enjoying his stay and most, if not all, of his nerves are from making a move into a new situation. It has little to do with Wynwood, in fact, they have helped him in many ways and he is starting to feel much better.
