I lived here many years ago when I was a single mom, this place was a god send! They kept the property and the units up, and it was safe, near good schools, and ample living area for a small family. I am hoping this will help someone else that needs this type of housing in the future. The rent was always fairly priced as it went by what I made. Keep in mind there is always going to be pros and cons!

I have been a resident here for close to two years now and would recommend South Colony to any senior citizen that is looking for a wonderful and safe place to live. I just love it here and my family doesnt have to worry about my safety here because of all of their policies and guidelines. Theres always loads of things to get involved in if you wanted to. You couldnt ask for a better staff and maintenance crew, they are always there and willing to help you.

A traumatic physical injury followed by the death of my husband meant I could no longer maintain the family home. A horrible downturn in my finances due to overwhelming medical bills left me needing subsidized housing. My children did the legwork in comparing various places designed to provide safe affordable lodging for older Americans. Since moving here , I am relieved from so many of the chores of running a home. My expenses are less and I have made many new friends; so many with wonderful stories to tell. I find staff are very kind and the Michigan Commission on Aging staff who run our cafeteria genuinely care for each of us. Activities include non-denomination bible studies, chapel services for Catholics and Protestants, a library, pool table, game areas, three large screen TVs, health screens, a visiting podiatrist, bingo, music concerts by community groups as well as gifted tenants, and a crafts room for those who like to sew and create while socializing. Yes, no place is perfect, but the apartment is roomy, and airy with a great view from my balcony. Pull cords are present for safetys sake. I plan to bee here for decades to come.

My mother has been at South Colony for 12 years now and does not want to move. The staff has been fabulous. Just like every other company changes happen. In the long run it is in the best interest of the residents. Just remember your family is never alone. They can make friends and not be alone. Thank you for all the good hard work you do for the residents

Senior Housing adequate. Staff gives great effort in accommodating residents needs and comfort.There are frequent apartment inspections. Staff provides activities for residents on regular basis.

I have been here for three years. I absolutely love it. There is nothing not to like. The staff are always very nice and ready to help and assist with any needs you may have. The property and buildings are kept in immaculate condition. Wish I could give it a hundred stars.

I moved here in Nov 2017. I could never ask for a better place to live. I am so happy here with all my new friends . The staff is wonderful. They always have a smile and are very helpful. Ive lived here almost a year now, and i love it! Office people are great, friendly and welcoming. Quiet in the area i reside. Its an apt complex, you will hear and possibly smell things, its not as bad as some reviews say! 5 stars
