We moved our mom in this facility back in July and it started out well but she is now exhibiting new behavior issues. We met with nurse Randi who sat and listened to our concerns, worries and ideas and put our minds at ease and together we developed a plan to to address these new behaviors. While she's extremely busy, she took over an hour with our family. Who does that anymore?? We Randi did and we couldn't be more appreciative to her compassion and knowledge of the disease dementia and techniques to handle any situation. She is a definite asset to her profession and her employer. We feel blessed our mom is being cared for by Randi and her care team. Thank you falls short to describe our gratitude, thank you Randi!!

My family recently toured this facility and we were very impressed with the overall environment ” the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, and the amenities are excellent. We had the pleasure of working with Jamie Smith, who was absolutely phenomenal. Despite our very short notice, she went above and beyond to accommodate us. Her compassion, professionalism, and genuine care for families navigating this process is evident. Everyone we’ve met at the facility so far has been kind, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Sarah is a wonderful activities manager at American House where my Mom Dorothy in room 39 has been staying for over a year now. She is very cheerful and caring to all the family at American House. I recently had the opportunity to tour American House Freedom Place in Rochester with Jamie Smith, the Community Relations Director, and I wanted to share my thoughts. If you’re considering a memory care facility, this place is truly impressive. They offer both private and semi-private rooms, as well as lovely dining areas where staff serve home-cooked, hot meals. Residents also have access to comfortable living rooms for relaxation, complete with TVs and puzzles. The community provides engaging activities like bingo and connect 4. The courtyards are beautiful, featuring vibrant plants and flowers, along with tables and chairs for enjoying the outdoors. I was particularly impressed by some thoughtful details. Each room has a shadow box displaying the residents picture, and near the dining room, there’s a wall showcasing resident photos along with short biographies. They also have interactive workstations such as washing machine and dryer, a work desk, and a tool bench. Security is excellent, with staff controlling entry and exit. Overall, the building felt bright, comfortable, and truly homelike. Jamie is a wonderful person to work with; she is clearly passionate about her role and dedicated to providing the best possible care.

I need more stars! I am in the healthcare industry and I have to say that I highly recommend this community. Above and beyond the fact that the community is beautiful, the staff is exemplary. The caregivers really "love" on their Residents. They care, and more importantly, they RESPECT their Residents. If you're looking for a community for a loved one, look no further, this is it!

Yes it's a nice community, grounds are well kept, if there is a problem maintenance comes quickly... The office staff is nice as well, I would like to see my diversity at their community! As well as in the office staff need more diversity not just in the background of services rendered.

Freedom Place, American House, Rochester Hills is an answer to my prayers This is truly a wonderful place for a loved one with dementia/ Alzheimer's. I just can't say enough about how pleased I am to have found Freedom Place after touring several other facilities. I am convinced that I made the right decision!

I love this place. Caring, friendly staff in a homey environment. My mom has dementia. She lived with me and our family for 7 years until last December, when she fell, broke bones, and had surgery. Her dementia became extreme and I knew I could no longer take care of her. We searched many memory care facilities and when we walked into Freedom Place, we knew we found her new home. It's like a whole new family. The director, AK, is friendly and welcoming. He works hard to make sure everything is running smoothly and he really knows and interacts with each and every resident. I appreciate how he keeps me updated about everything and shares stories about my mom. The activities director, Chelsea, is full of energy and love for the residents. She knows their likes and dislikes and keeps them busy and happy. She and her helper, Sarah, are kind and patient and get right in there to provide all aspects of care. The head cook, Kim, does a wonderful job with meals. She knows each resident and what they like. Her chili is awesome! And I'm especially thankful for the caregivers. They really are great. When my mom moved in, I was put at ease knowing Amanda and Paris were taking such good care of her. Each caregiver I meet at Freedom Place amazes me with their patience and kindness. Mom is always clean and dressed nicely. She settled in quickly and is truly happy. As hard as it was for me to place my mom in a facility, I feel grateful to have help to provide her with the best possible care she could have. And to know that she's happy and loved.

Finding Freedom Place was a great relief to me. My mom was in a nursing home and got strong enough to be elsewhere. I contacted a non-profit agency that connected me to Freedom Place. It was just what we needed. It is very homey, the food is great and I feel like the staff has gotten to know my mom as an individual. I particularly appreciate them pairing her up with a compatible suite mate. This is the best we could hope for given the circumstances.
