Jori Snedden and the staff at American House Petoskey have been excellent. My aunt Joanie needed a place to stay and they were welcoming and so helpful during a difficult transition for my family. I cannot thank them enough. Their compassion really helped make a difference.

We just popped in for a visit to take a look for possibly moving in later in the fall. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I went to talk with staff about costs for physical therapy for dad, he was invited to take part in the exercise class. It wasn't long before he was doing his best to keep up, he had a stroke 5 years ago, he was laughing and really enjoyed the Funky Chicken Dance with the shaker eggs. After exercise class he turned to me and said, "Sign me up, I'm ready to move in!" "Sorry dad, maybe next week, you invited your sister up for your Birthday next week." We will be moving him in shortly, he's pretty excited. I would say your staff is awesome, he a very hard sell usually. Thank you American House you have made this a wonderful experrience.

My mom has been a resident at the American House in Petoskey, Michigan for the past two years. She is so happy and comfortable there and able to live her "best life" as independently as possible. In December the staff hosted a holiday gathering for all the residents and their families. What a joy it was to celebrate together as a family and with mom's friends. The food was delicious, the entertainment was lovely (a band that played holiday music) and there was even a visit from Santa Clause!

There is a home like and welcoming feeling at the facility. The communication could use improvement in my opinion. Fireplace and greeting area and the outside courtyard area appear very lovely. Other residents are friendly and helpful. I would say regarding the food that the vegetables could be a bit different and perhaps less ham for the meals. Perhaps more casseroles and other types of cuisine would be nice. The dining room staff is very courteous and welcoming. The Advisacare staff seem to genuinely care for the residents. The activities boost the well-being for the residents also. All around it is a very nice option for someone who can no longer remain in their home.

We can not say enough good about American House and all the staff. My Dad was not very willing to move into assisted living of any kind. He has dementia and since Mom's passing it was getting worse and he just could not be alone. It was tough getting him there but we were assured once he settled in all would be okay. Well with the help of all the staff it did work out. Within two weeks my Dad was so happy. He loves it there. He is always saying all the people there are so kind and nice. He always tells me they take such good care of him. He likes his apartment but spends a lot of time out by the beautiful fire place in the commons area. He likes the food too. It's good to see him so happy. Thank you all at American House for making my Dad feel so loved and cared for. Also...thank you for being so patient with me. I appreciate all everyone of you do for Dad and for our family.

The staff really love their jobs and care very much for the people who live here. Also, the food is awesome. When they moved in we brought them some food and supplies, but they love the food so much they hardly need anything. I was a bit nervous because my Dad really never really liked to eat out much. The food here is like homemade!! They also have alot of activities in which my parents can participate and attend. Overall, we have really enjoyed Mom & Dad living here.
