Oliver Woods is a wonderful community that truly cares about the well-being of its residents. What makes this community stand out, however, is its Executive Director, Carla. Carla is actively involved in the day-to-day life of the community. She knows every resident by name, takes the time to know their families, and is always available to help in any way she can. She leads with integrity, professionalism, and a genuine passion for serving older adults and their loved ones. I have personally witnessed Carla go above and beyond”even spending her own money”to make sure a resident had what they needed. What impresses me most is that she never seeks recognition for these acts of kindness. She leads with humility, quietly doing the right thing simply because she cares. That kind of leadership is rare. Oliver Woods is incredibly fortunate to have Carla at the helm. Her compassion, dedication, and selfless leadership create a culture that is felt by every resident, every family, and every member of the staff. She is a true blessing to this community.

I first experienced Oliver Woods some 25 years ago when my father moved in there. It was still a fairly new facility, but I could see right away that it was worlds above other similar facilities. They took such good care of Dad during his final years that I have visited there weekly for 20 years for games, music, prayer, and special events. The residents are happy and well cared for. The staff is courteous and welcoming. There are many activities to keep people sharp and engaged. They have gone through quite a few administrators in recent years, but the overall quality remains high. Recommended for yourself or your loved ones.

In searching for an assisted living facility for a family member, we visited several facilities in the area. Oliver Woods in Owosso is far and away the best place that we visited. The facility is well maintained and the staff is friendly and courteous. During the application process Executive Director Carla LaMarr did a thorough job of explaining what to expect from her staff and herself. We left feeling confident that our family member will be well cared for. We would highly recommend Oliver Woods to anyone needing assisted living care.

I work at a sister community and so I have been to Oliver Woods for trainings. They are a wonderful community with such a great atmosphere. The staff and management team are absolutely wonderful. I recently moved my mother Diane Merrell in this facility. It looked great on paper and in the pamphlets. Even good reviews. My family experience was different. My mother was in Memmory Care. Their pamplet emplies that the staff are trained for Memory Care. They have a policy that shower rooms are to be locked when not in use. My Mother fell and broke her hip in a unlocked shower room that was not in use. The staff member assigned to my mother previous job experience was a waiter at a Mexican restaurant. My Mother passed away within a week of that fall. I was an involved family. I was there everyday. This facility needs investigating into how many other untimely deaths occurred in it due to inexperienced unqualified employees.

I personally want to say Marie was amazing in helping my senior parents figure out their tv so that dad can watch his football! Also printed him a schedule of all games! I called and asked and she went right down and fixed it! It's a small thing to her...but it sure meant the world to mom and dad and me! Thank you Marie! Great way to show you care

I have to share my experience with Evelyn, and Destiny at Oliver woods. We toured this facility in hopes to find one closer to us for my husband's father. We were over the moon pleased with the facility itself. What we were even more impressed with, is the dedication these wonderful ladies have to the residents and families. We were unable to go through with the move, because my husband's father declined rapidly right after our meeting. Not only did these ladies not bow out, but they also helped us where they could and kept checking in to see if we needed any more help. Knowing we would be unable to move him there, as he was then transferred to hospice and passed away shortly after. They went above and beyond even knowing we would not be able to move him to their facility. That is one of the best examples of kindness I have seen in such a long time. Oliver Woods is blessed to have them, and I hope they're appreciated so much there.

This place is comforting to visit and work. These resident's are like family. I visit them often. I feel this place is cozy enough to turn into a great home for any lived one. Activities are schrsched through the day to create moments of joy with people. By the way we love to dance! The staff here are great, they are there to help you if you need anything and they are available 24/7!

Our good friend has been living at Oliver Woods for 8 months now. We, her family and friends, feel she has received excellent care and oversight since moving in for assisted living. Her apartment is pleasant and spacious for her needs. All of the Oliver Woods employees providing her excellent care are exceptional in their true friendliness and caring. Their willingness to make her lifestyle safe, pleasant and individualized as she has adapted to an assisted living setting has been greatly appreciated and gives us peace of mind that she is safe and taken care of at all times.. The many activities and services available to her is a real plus for her and all the residents. Meals are a real bonus at Oliver Woods--they are always timely and appealing, and as they try to fulfill individual tastes, residents' preferences are always taken into consideration.We are very pleased with Oliver Woods (and so is our friend who was/is in serious need of assisted living) and would recommend this facility highly!

My mother was a resident there several a years ago and when my aunts required the services of an assisted living facility it was an easy choice to choose Oliver Woods. We had visited another facility, but the atmosphere did not seem as welcoming as OW. The staff is always willing to listen and help with any concerns I might have and are very involved with the residents. OW caregivers treats everyone like family. Even the maintenance staff are friendly and interact with the residents. The activities help to keep my aunts involved and interacting with others which they wouldn't have gotten at home. I would recommend OW for anyone who is looking to place a loved one in need of their services.

When I was researching assisted living facilities in the Owosso Michigan area for my brother, Oliver Woods was the clear and only choice for him. It is simply the best! The care is the most important thing in my mind for my brother. The staff at Oliver Woods is amazing! They are extremely well trained and are all caring individuals. All aspects of care are executed perfectly. I am so impressed and feel really confident that my brother is in the best care hands available. The facility is absolutely gorgeous and spacious. Activities are endless for the residents as well, from concerts to art projects to interactive story reading to games to exercise classes to outings. I am sure I am missing some! The meals are prepared well are on a schedule everyday. My brother loves everything about Oliver Woods! I wouldn't have him anywhere else. Oh......from my side, the administrative staff is also very caring, extremely knowledgeable, and timely. All are very helpful whenever I need clerical items addressed.
