Joyce and I are in our 12th year as residents at Fox Run. Granted, it isnt perfect...but we know its close because when 5 residents each identify 3 things theyd like to change--theres very little overlap in their responses. As expected, we have many friends among the residents. What you wouldnt expect is the staff. Its exceptional! 95% of them routinely go the extra mile for residents.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are several good (but crowded) restaurant options (no breakfast served.). The facility is clean and well kept. My father-in-law at first described this place is like living on a cruise ship. Erickson does many things well, and granted my parents are on the decline and hardly take advantage of all the programs offered. What dismays me is that Erickson Communities advertise expertise in senior care and a continuity of living services. We have found this not to be true. An attempt to get consistency in home care and housekeeping assistance has been difficult at best! They have been there for over three years and it has been a tiring and exhausting experience to communicate with their home care staff. If your loved ones are quite competent and independent, this is a good place. If not, you might be better served elsewhere.

Fox Run is a beautiful community! Staff has always been nice and informative. My reason for 3 stars is because Im an outside contractor and they dont vouch for us very well. We are given a pass to park in H parking lot- right across the street from Chelsea Court where my client lives. It takes me 10 minutes to get to my client because I have to walk ALLLLLLL the way around the campus to get there. They dont give us keys to the doors and the trolly bus zooms right on past us. I think this needs to change, especially during the winter time. Walking in the -20--30 degree weather wasnt fun, at all. Security is aware that we have to do this, it would be great to see some changes in the future!

All of the residents and staff here are super friendly and welcoming to new people. There are over a hundred clubs to choose from, so something for every interest, hobby, or game. Several great apartment layouts and sizes to choose from. I love Fox Run!

Being a Senior and Baby Boomer myself, I am concerned about the ever-growing need for care in our communities. This need will increase, as the beginning of retirees from Generation X are just on the horizon. In reading comments from your Staff and Retirement Community... It appears Fox Run is not just a fantastic place to live, but also a great place to work - Kuddos Erickson Living!

I have been a resident at Fox Run for 3 1/2 years and this is truly the place to live for Seniors. There are so many wonderful activities if you care to partake or just relax in your apartment. The staff are wonderfulalways helpful and there when we need them. Residents are super friendly. Everyday is a vacation and stress free. What more can you ask for?? I rate Fox Run A+

REHAB Facility -- good rep, shabby accommodations, nice people, sub-par care Just added two stars (started out with only one) because their checkout team is fantastic. All of my fathers stuff was meticulously packed, not a single teenie thing was missing (even got back all the apple charge cords!), and, most importantly, a gorgeous little handmade quilt thats a perfect size for cold shoulders or toes. Yes, I can be bought. Hopefully the attached picture does it justice. My father used to drive a local Senior Bus, meaning he met folks from all Novi senior facilities. He noticed that residents from all assisted living centers EXCEPT those from Fox Run complained about their chosen facility. When it came time for dad to go into such a place, picking Fox Run was a no-brainer. At first ... everyone was great! The staff were all smiles and relaxed while clearly working hard to take care of patients. But then ... the doctor doing the check-in spent a lot of time complaining about how she didnt trust hospitals, including the one that coordinated his move to Fox Run. And then ... we noticed how shabby the room was, and how only the obvious areas were clean. The windowsill was quite dusty, as was behind the tv, and the corners of the floors. But ... remembering all the previous conversations dad had with seniors throughout Novi, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe the other places were worse. Thankfully the wonderful nursing aid made sure we both had delicious dinners. The food is quite tasty and nicely presented. But then ... we had some logistical questions, such as how to connect to their wi-fi, what the visitation policies are, how laundry was handled (such as who did it, when, chemicals used), what cable channels were available on his tv, etc., and no one knew. Finally someone referred us to the resident handbook that should be in the room, but couldnt be found. Then ... we found and read the resident booklet, and realized that it was almost exclusively about the assisted living residents, with only a couple pages about the rehab facility. And most of those were about not having anything there youd like to keep because things get misplaced. Including jewelry, money, credit cards, and clothes. And no, I couldnt get a copy to take home for reference, nor was it available online. And then ... for the next two days, the nurses delayed or flat out didnt give him his pain medication. They finally gave him all of his meds the third day, but by then it was too late. He was in so much pain that he had to be rushed to the hospital. Which took hours because it was a weekend and the on-call doctor wasnt responding. Which is also why they couldnt give him the prescribed breakthrough pain medication. So there he was, in a 9-10 out of 10 pain range for hours, and nobody would do anything to help him. And then ... we found out that they changed his blood thinner testing and regimen, so it was all outta whack when tested at the hospital. And ... Fox Run NEVER contacted ANY of his regular doctors. Not a one. They just met my father, and chose to change his medications without consulting us. Then ... when we picked up his things, we were told that my father had refused his medications, not that they had changed them. My father has been under close medical supervision for these medications for years and is very careful to take them properly. Im absolutely confident that either he did NOT refuse, OR he refused because he realized they were doing it wrong. I cannot disrecommend the REHAB portion of this facility strongly enough.

I worked here yesterday. From the moment I stepped out of my car and asked someone for directions there was nothing but professionalism! I was in awe of the place, the structure, the tip top organization of it all. If my vehicle holds up I'm coming back to work here every chance I get!!! ??? I truly love fox run!!!
