Having to find an assisted living facility for my mom and after visiting numerous facilities we decided on Pomeroy Northville for various reasons but mainly because of the warmth we felt from the Leasing Director Dotty Harold. Dotty walked us through the process from beginning to end and made us feel like old friends. The facility is beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. My mom has been at the facility for three weeks and having trouble with the change of moving because of onset dementia. The staff has been exceptional with making sure her needs are tended to, and she feels welcome in her new home. Other residents have even made a point to befriend here and make her feel welcomed. This is a huge relief as the stress of her well-being has been overwhelming to say the least. The staff makes sure the residence are engaged with activities as I have found my mom playing bingo, watching movies in the theater or watching television in the commons area with other residents on my visits. In house rehab and a doctor that visits the facility make it easy for ongoing medical care without leaving the facility. A monthly newsletter is sent to the families with updates and planned events that families are invited to. I have not had the pleasure of attending one yet but look forward to the Halloween gathering that is planned. All in all I am pleased with our decision to move my mom here and would not hesitate to recommend Pomeroy to others looking for a place for a loved one to call home.

My mom has been at Pomeroy Northville for three years. The staff is caring and very helpful. It is a family oriented community. They have outings for the residents, activities and bring in entertainment. Families are always invited. If you are looking for a place for your loved one I suggest you check them out.

We moved my dad in to the assisted living wing in May. He came from an independent living place with added assitance. Pomeroy Living Northville is just the right place for him. He is happy and well taken care of. He gets the help he needs, but still has some independence. The staff is AMAZING! Everyone is so friendly and helpful; from the management and sales, to the maintenance staff, to the nurses and aides. We could not be happier. It has been such a great experience for us as his grown children too. I tell everyone about it. Thank you for all you do!

My husband lived in Pomeroy Northville for almost a year until he passed. Pomeroy was the third memory care facility in which he lived and as the adage goes the third time was the charm. The layout of the unit has the feel of an open concept home with kitchen, dining room and living room all within easy eyesight for supervision. It's also a sunny living area with large windows overlooking a lovely courtyard which is a great place to take a stroll or sit on nice days. The food is very good and residents can choose between two choices at each meal. As with any memory care facility, staffing can be an issue. But Sandra, the director, works hard at hiring good people and letting the slackers go. There are aides at Pomeroy who have been there multiple years and are caring, compassionate, and reliable. They make up a core of dependable helpers who treat residents with dignity. Nothing is more difficult than leaving your loved one in someone else's care but my husband was well attended by those aides who feel a calling to care for those who cannot care for themselves. The reason for 4 stars is only because not all aides hear that call. Out of the three facilities where my husband lived however, Pomeroy provided by far the best care. The other two places were Addington Place and Cedarbrook, neither of which I would recommend. The management at Pomeroy encourages communication between family and themselves which is very important when you are relying on good care for someone you love. Also, the care my husband received during his final days was outstanding and very considerate to his needs and our family's as well. No long term care facility is perfect but my family and I were grateful that my husband could spend some very good days at Pomeroy with some very good people. We are glad to have made that choice.

I really like this place. Almost two months ago now we had to move my God mother/aunt from another facility that was not caring for her properly. We met Dotty Harold and immediately she put as at ease and let us know that Pomeroy would be our new home away from home. Everything Dotty told us has been spot on. The staff is very caring and we are notified when there is something we should be aware of, (that they have already taken care of). For example, the nursing staff will call and say, just to let you know your loved one was acting out of character and we think it is a urinary tract infection so we have reached out to the doctor etc... This is a definite change in what we have been used to in the past. Everyone at Pomeroy has been nothing but caring, kind and competent. This location is 10 minutes farther from where we were before and was not on our radar at all, but we are so glad we found out about it. The experience thus far has been very good. Also, the food at the facility is good and our loved one has been more social than she has at any other facility she has been in. If you are considering Pomeroy please go and visit, the facility is very nice.

I have worked at Pomeroy Northville as a nurse supervisor for over three years now and LOVE it. When you walk in the doors there is a very "welcoming" feeling. The residents have captured my heart. I enjoy caring for them on a daily basis and just spending time with them as well as getting to know their families who have entrusted us with their care. Our management team is amazing and very supportive. Our activity department is great and always finds a way to engage our residents in fun activities. Our care staff really gets to know our residents and provide routine/structure which is so important when dealing with someone with dementia. Our maintenance, housekeeping and laundry department are SO helpful as well and Chef Paul cooks up some very delicious meals for our residents to enjoy while spending time together in one of our neighborhood dining rooms. I love the cozy atmosphere at Pomeroy and most of all the smiles and hugs from my residents

Care, kindness and concern. We placed my early-stage dementia diagnosed then 95 year old Mom in Pomeroy a few years ago. Anxiety-riddled, we were in a VERY tough spot as she did not want to go, nor was excited about being taken from her home. The staff not only ensured the on-boarding was flawless, but also helped her get integrated into the community but also helped us throughout the process with everything from one-in to "what do we bring". Over the past 18 months, they have continually gone above and beyond, always with class and professionalism. The care workers are really angels in disguise. There is a special place for them in heaven as they, universally, treat residents with respect and friendship. When my Mom eventually passed last month, they shed and mourned like a family member. I CANNOT give more praise and THANKS to a more-deserving group of individuals, charged with the care of our loved ones, under immense stress and challenges (yep, they made lemonade out of lemons throughout the pandemic). Over the past several years, I was happy to be my 94 year-old mom's caregiver, and helped her while she resided at different senior communities in the Plymouth/Northville area. I found that some of the residences held themselves out as "assisted like" living, but actually were an apartment building, with community dining, some activities, and offering an independent home healthcare company to provide services of daily living sometimes, the building owners also owned the home care company, too, which was troubling. This type of setup requires very little over site from the State of Michigan, and unfortunately, the care wasn't what I considered top quality, and sometimes, outright questionable. In December, we were fortunate to move mom to Beacon Square, in Northville, Michigan. This community truly provided top-shelf skilled care by its employees, offering both assisted and memory care for seniors - and in a beautiful, brand new setting. The staff is caring, professional, and responsive, and provided mom a safe and happy environment to live. I can't say enough about Beacon Square, its management, staff, and ownership - Pomeroy Living, and only regret not be able to move her into this new community sooner. My true observation is that Pomeroy Living cares about their residents first; and their business interests follow a true mark of an organization with integrity. Sincerely, Joe Khed
