This is a family-operated business that truly cares about their clients. Bridget LaMacchia, the owner, has a rigorous screening process in place for all of the workers even before employment begins, and the extra attention to skills, training and details comes through. We had Comfort Keepers during the tail end of the worst part of the pandemic, and it was difficult for her (like all of us) to find competent workers willing to work. But she did not bend her standards to accept less-then workers, she just made it work with the higher quality ones she had. We appreciated the excellent work ethic - my mom was 96 and transitioning at that stage of her life, so she mostly slept a lot when they were here, but the caregivers cleaned her rooms and bathroom (every day), did laundry and prepared her meals, took her for walks and made sure she kept hydrated - everything and anything they could to assist us, since she lived with us and we worked from home. There were no lazy or incompetent workers among them. Bridget was also excellent at giving advice on my mom's stage and condition, having experienced just about any health situation with her clients over the years, and her recommendations were very much appreciated. When my mom could no longer walk and we did not have a handicapped bathroom space, Bridget and mom's primary caregiver continued to visit her socially in an assisted living center. It was lovely to discover it wasn't just a business situation since they still came even though not employed by us anymore. They did indeed really care about her. Bridget puts her heart and soul in to the business and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her and Comfort Keepers for any home caring needs you might have. Trying to decipher the best home caring company for your needs can be confusing. Rest assured, Comfort Keepers is a great choice and you will be in great hands!

My family did and it gave my Mom the luxury of having extended time at her own home. Nobody wants to leave their home, away from visits and conversations of family and friends. This all adds to the memories their home has soaked in over the years. So don't have them leave. Make the call. Don't carry the burden of worrying when you cannot be there to assist. Distance, jobs, other stressors...all barriers that can be set aside with Comfort Keepers home help. A treatment plan was discussed with my Mom and our family and then, the kind and devoted staff was introduced. Relief followed for all of us. My Mom had someone to drive her where she wanted, (Panera's coffee, Culvers ice cream or just a long comfy, scenic drive) which livened her life. She now had stories of her own to tell. The hours were always covered, even through our ferocious winter storms. But the best part was the owners' devotion to their jobs. Bridget and Thomas LaMacchia (along with members of their family) head the Lansing division and all of them are very approachable and solution-oriented. Bridget is filled with so much knowledge of geriatric health care, practical solutions and just emanates such a friendly, generous warmth, you feel as if your loved one is in very capable hands. Their staff are carefully picked and carry on in this very same nature. Kindness and patience, experience and laughter, this is what I saw with the staff. My family felt she was safe. Five stars plus! We have been so pleased with the care that the staff of Comfort Keepers have given our elderly parents. All of the caregivers are outstanding! Each of them has brought so much joy with genuine compassion to our parents. The staff is trained and very capable to do a variety of tasks to keep our parents safe, nourished and comfortable. The caregivers are very attentive and do everything they can to meet our parents needs in a timely manner. They also do well dealing with our parents dementia and compulsive behavior. We feel at ease knowing that the caregivers are doing safe transfers, showers and keeping our parents on track with their days and nights! The owner, Bridget, and her office staff go above and beyond to make sure that there are not any gaps in coverage in caring for our parents. Owners of Comfort Keepers of Lansing played an extremely important role during the latter stage of our parents' lives. Much appreciation for the care that their individual caregivers provided them over six years. Before that time, we were under a huge amount of pressure while working and looking after our families. We were worried that we would have to put them into a nursing home, which we know that they did not want. Comfort Keepers of Lansing permitted our parents to stay in their own home to live a happier life. The Owner and caregiver, were of special assistance in making Mom's life wonderful at home. This acknowledgement expresses the gratitude and appreciation for the time and patience that Comfort Keepers of Lansing personally took to get to know them. While there were many hours of working with the family to provide excellent care, there was a continuous display of passion, patience, and professionalism (the three P's). They provided our family to make proper choices, were always motivated, energetic, and never pushy. Having such a vast knowledge of how to work to obtain answers to our questions; along with networking skills, put them above the bar. The Comfort Keeper of Lansing, family team is regarded as respected and honorable. We experienced that firsthand and they are to be commended for creating a "family environment" with the business in mind. It was a pleasure to work with them. This is one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure to work with. My mom was the sole caretaker for my ailing dad. Comfort Keepers took care of our family by sending someone out to be with my dad for a few hours a couple days a week so my mom could go grocery shopping and have a break from the stress of constant care of an unwell adult. She was able to leave home with full confidence that he would be well cared for and looked after and treated extremely respectfully. Tom and Bridget (the owners) are some of the most genuinely kind people you will ever meet and they work tirelessly to make sure you and your family are able to feel human again without worry.
