Magnolia is the place to be. Magnolia's staff makes it feel like a home away from home which is exactly what I was looking for. The care staff and administration are the most attentive and informative people. The amenities are absolutely beautiful and the meals are 5-star. I would recommend this place to everyone.

In response to the negative review by a person naming herself or himself "Jasmine" dated July 2022 I offer this response: Magnolia by the Lakes is receiving great reviews from Channel 7 television viewers and WJR Radio listeners. Since we do not have any employee named Jasmine I believe that this review is from a competitor who intentionally attempts to lower the standing of our beautiful Magnolia by the Lakes. I have been happily working at Magnolia for four and a half years, Magnolia by the Lakes is proud to provide the most comprehensive, friendly and caring service to our Seniors.

My parents moved into independent living which was lovely, but 12 days later my mother died and my father had dementia, so he needed additional assistance. I was going to move him to another facility, but Dr. Bagne scared me about changing facilities and said he would be drugged and other facilities are not as good as hers and assured me they can handle him. It was a nightmare and he kept getting out of the "secure" facility and the police were called numerous times and I was getting calls at all hours of the night to come there and handle him. The assisted living staff were constantly on their phones all night, or missing and they did not even speak to the residents unless they were paid extra. My father was shamed and blamed for being confused and she even charged us extra for an "accident" even when we were already paying for extra care to watch him!! We had to pay an additional security deposit to move him into assisted living 12 days later. I was then told that he was going to be kicked out, if I did not pay extra for an additional caregiver for 24/7 care! Total scam! I moved him immediately to a different facility. I am not a fan of Dr. Bagne at all! Beware of the assisted living facility. Biggest 30K mistake of my life!

Magnolia North (assisted living unit) is a terrible place. We moved my mother in there in September 2021. She lived for four more days, before passing. Doctor Bagne (the owner) promised everything before I signed the contract. Once mom was moved in, assistance was next to impossible to get. The night before her passing she was unable to summon help. I never did get to talk to Dr Bagne after mom moved in and died. I made multiple attempts verbally through her assistant and in writing......no response ever!

It's hard to believe this place is still open. The owner/President is one of the most evil, self-serving individuals I ever met in my life. I am surprised she hasn't been sued, but then again, she's a lawyer along with one of her sons. I noticed that several of these comments have been written by her relatives. She has cameras everywhere, and if she doesn't think you are dressed well, or appear to have money she will call the front desk and tell the receptionist to not give you a tour!! I am not making this stuff up. I know everyone I worked with has since left. The turnover of staff is unbelievable. She doesn't give a damn about the residents. She will sell you the sun, moon and stars to get you to sign on the dotted line. She claims to have staff on both sides (assisted and independent) 24/7. Not true. No one is at that front desk at either location at night. If there's an emergency one of the caregivers from the assisted side needs to handle it. The assisted side has the ability to lock down, however since it's assisted living, residents have the right to come and go. Families don't realize that this is not a skilled nursing facility. I found a resident in the middle of Cass Lake with her walker with traffic zooming around her! You can't make this stuff up! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!

This is Shelly Ann, Ms. Tracies (AKA Candy Rain) Supervisor. I would like to respond by saying first of all Ms. Tracie your name is not Candy Rain. As the Scheduling Manager it is important to meet the needs of the Residents which requires employees to be scheduled every other weekend. Ms. Tracie has requested schedule changes frequently with last minute requests which we have accommodated, yet Ms. Tracie does not show up even for the days she requests requiring other employees to fill in for her. I have been at Magnolia by the Lakes for over three years and in my opinion Magnolia by the Lakes sets the highest standard of Care with Compassionate and Resourceful employees, Ms. Tracie has been the exception. I formally request that you remove your libelous statements. Otherwise, your Employer may be forced to take the necessary legal remedies.

This guy Dave Skelton is bitter because his wife Elizabeth who was an employee at Magnolia was let go and he is bashing the place out of spite and hatred. Magnolia staff are extremely nice and loving. You will not find another place like Magnolia. Shame on you Dave and Elizabeth. You are playing with the lives of seniors because of your own inadequacy.

A senior living facility should be rated by its ambiance, cleanliness, staff, food, units and safety. Magnolia by the Lakes (both independent and assisted living) gets five stars in all of these factors. The buildings are beautiful. The chandelier in Magnolia south takes your breath away. The place is meticulous. The Owner pays attention to every detail. The staff are well dressed and treat you with respect and understanding. The President and, owner is professional, kind and genuinely cares for seniors. She spends as much time with residents as they want, answering questions and helping them in anyway she can. The staff is caring, dress well and are extremely professional. The food is great and the chefs prepare the meals according to your diet. The Owner who is also the President and CEO treats the staff and residents with respect and understanding. She is kind and generous. As soon as you walk in , you hear residents laughing and telling you how happy they are at Magnolia. You must visit Magnolia to really appreciate how. Wonderful it is. Anyone who writes a negative review must have an ulterior motive.

I want to share how proud I am to work at Magnolia by the lakes for the past 3 years. I enjoy knowing that I am aiding in providing a great service to our Seniors. Dr Bagne, our founder, president & owner truly cares about seniors getting the best experiences and care during the Fall/Winter of their life. Magnolia is clean, has a very friendly/caring staff, the food is wonderful and is managed wonderfully. Our owner is on site 5 days or more a week to oversee that the upmost high standards are being met.

This is response to Kosher Fortress who is upset because Magnolia HR Department requested information about her background. I think that it is admirable that Magnolia checks personal information. Without the drug test and background check, residents would be vulnerable to scams, theft and worse. Thank you Magnolia for doing such a great job. I feel sorry for Kosher who obviously could not pass the background check and thus didnt get the job. If you cant pass the background check, you shouldnt be working at a senior community any way.

The entertainment that was provided actually got my Mom up dancing before dinner! The food was delicious! I feel very comfortable with my mother living at Magnolia, she use to be so depressed with nothing to do, now I have to see if I can fit in her calendar! Wonderful place!

Came from New Orleans to visit a friend who resides at Magnolia By The Lakes and was in awe of its beauty and how amazing the staff was. Also, I’m not sure why another reviewer said there were no American flags, there are SEVERAL American flags all over the property. Love this location! If only I lived in Michigan, I would move in immediately!

I toured the Independent Senior Community of Magnolia by the Lakes and I couldn't believe my eyes- the picturesque setting, the high ceilings, the gracious apartments and the gorgeous views- all starting about $3,000. My parents live in Florida and it is so nice that Magnolia has an enclosed bridge connecting several buildings. My parents are coming to visit Magnolia.This place is worth a visit. I wish I were old enough to live there! Nice job. highly recommend.

Magnolia by the Lakes is a very high-end facility. It had beautiful rooms and great structure, but it was very expensive based on their cost model. I went into their independent living facility, which was a six-floor building structure. I got a tour through one of their single bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. It was a very nice facility with very beautiful rooms. It looked like they had a really elegant dining area. I saw the exercise facility, and I was given a list of the activities they published for the month. I didn't have issues with the staff.

Magnolia by the Lakes was very good. They were very caring people. The facility was great. It was a little on the small side, but it was clean. They were in the process of expanding. The price was a little on the high side, but it definitely would have been a place I would have considered. However, the facility was a long distance away from me, which was an issue. I recall that there were good activities; they would go out and do activities within the facility.

Magnolia by the Lakes was very nice. It was a brand-new, small place but way too expensive. They were building more units of permanent apartments for seniors across the street from the facility. So, it was very nice. They had a Jacuzzi pool, computer room, television room, and exercise room. The rooms were beautiful. When we first walked in, there were flowers on the table and it was very pretty. There were only 20 residents. I was a little disappointed that you had to bring your own bed and a stand for your own TV. They said they could possibly bring something in for your clothes to hang. I did not care for that. I thought for the money that you were paying, you would have a nice hospital bed, but they did not have anything supplied. I was not too thrilled with the rooms, and the view was of bushes. The two-bedroom we saw didn't even have a view. For me, I like to look outside and see something.

Magnolia by the Lakes is a smaller facility, but it is very clean and very well managed. Jason was there when we went for a tour, and he was very thorough and very professional. It's a brand-new building that opened only eight months ago. They have a beautiful dining room, exercise room, and a theater room. The staff is all very friendly, helpful, and taking good care of my dad.
