I cannot recommend Abel Care enough. My friend’s husband was a resident here, and the quality of care he received was wonderful. Simona and Marius run a beautiful facility that is always exceptionally clean. The care provided was top tier, high quality, and compassionate. They truly create a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where visitors feel right at home. An added bonus is the delicious, home-cooked food they serve. If you have a family member that needs care, you will have absolute peace of mind knowing the high quality of care provided to them.

There are no amount of stars that are sufficient to accompany this review. There are no amount of words that say enough about the owners of Abel Care, Marius and Simona. I met them through relatively sad circumstances. My father-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2019. After years of in-home care, my mother-in-law made the difficult but necessary decision to seek out additional care. When I went for my first visit in March, my emotions were drawn to their two polarities. Deep sadness for what my loved one was going through, and a deep sense of happiness, and gratitude upon meeting Marius and Simona. In the subsequent months, and over many visits, I saw first hand, their commitment to their guests (residents and family/friends of residents). I was blown away by seeing home cooked meals. I was taken back at how much their children engaged with the residents. Side-note: these children will no doubt grow up to be exceptional humans. I have rarely seen at such a young age the levels of compassion and empathy from these kids, no doubt, learned from their parents. Even the dog (Sophie) was quiet and calming. My father-in-law passed recently, which is heartbreaking. If you haven't been witness to it; Alzheimer's is a sad and seemingly cruel disease. A challenging process was made easier with the help of the good people at Abel Care. When Marius and Simona step out, they have exceptional care givers enter the home and care for the residents. It seems cliche to give something 10 stars out of 5, but cliche or not, there are no amount of stars sufficient to what I have witnessed. Whether it is for a loved one, or for you, the end of life should be a warm and dignified place, with a peaceful last chapter. That is what Abel Care provides. In my time with Marius and Simona, I shamefully tried to learn Romanian. They were gracious in my failings and patient with their teachings. As they became family in my life, I learned the same words that I said to my father-in-law....Te iubesc (I love you). Although, I don't have a resident to see anymore at Abel Care, I will be going back to visit Simona and Marius, and you should too.

Our family cannot say enough wonderful things about Abel Care and the loving care that Marius and Simona provide to my husband, Neil. From the moment Neil moved into Abel Care, he was welcomed as part of their family. This is not just a care home”it is a true home where every resident is treated with dignity, respect, patience, and genuine love. What makes Abel Care especially special is that the entire family is involved. Marius and Simona’s children are wonderful with all of the residents. They spend time with them, talk with them, make them smile, and treat them like grandparents. Their kindness and compassion create a warm family atmosphere that you simply cannot find in larger facilities. Another thing that makes Abel Care so special is the wonderful home-cooked meals. Marius and Simona prepare hearty, nutritious meals with fresh vegetables, homemade soups, and foods that make residents feel at home. Mealtimes are not just about eating”they are about family, conversation, and connection. Families are always welcomed and encouraged to join their loved ones for meals, creating a warm and inclusive environment that means so much to both residents and their families. One of our favorite things is seeing Sophie, their sweet dog, spend time with the residents. Sophie often sits on Neil’s lap, bringing him comfort and companionship. Watching his face light up during those moments means the world to our family. Our children and grandchildren love visiting Abel Care because they can see firsthand how much Marius and Simona truly care. Every time we visit, Neil is clean, comfortable, well cared for, and treated with kindness. We always feel welcomed and included. As Neil’s Alzheimer’s disease has progressed and he is now receiving hospice care, Marius and Simona continue to provide exceptional support, not only to him but to our entire family. Their compassion, patience, and dedication give us peace of mind every day. We are incredibly grateful to have found Abel Care. If you are looking for a loving, family-centered home for a loved one with memory care needs, I wholeheartedly recommend Abel Care. Five stars is pocket change compared to number of stars that Abel care is providing my sons father-in-law. He is a Vietnam Navy veteran who is suffering from his experiences with the war and his condition is serious. This care center is for everyone, not restricted to situation like my beloved good papa. I am the evil papa that the grandkids can confirm to you. The facility is absolutely clean. It is beautiful. The food cooked by the family is unbelievably delicious with the food that they have on hand it simply unbelievable. The other grandma and grandpa are dear to my heart. And Memorial Day 2026 after having a wonderful meal at our son’s house grandma invited my wife and I to visit Papa And, though he was not able to communicate and other situations I have the time of my life, the photographs in this review from others is not a lie. It is a five star facility that any hotel any facility that house people would envy. Please consider this facility in the future. You will not go wrong. The family is loving and so accessible not like a local facility that was a horrible disaster of a place and I’m glad that grandma was able to get him out of there and by the grace of God into this facility. Papa and you are my hero and I thank God that you’re getting the care from Abels care. If my phone has typed in some naughty words, you’ll hear screaming from the Brighton area as I attack my phone publicly to do evil things to it for embarrassing me like it’s done in the past. Love to all of You, John. I realized all the photographs that I took in videos had faces of people and I never post faces of anyone because you don’t know what’s out there in the Internet so I apologize, but the photographs fit are in this review are authentic and the flowers outside and the ambience is definitely a beautiful place for care

Abel Care (Marius and Simona) have been such a blessing in caring for my mother, who has Alzheimer’s. The delicious home cooked food, family environment with their children interacting with residents and their loving, caring and respectful manner with residents and family members is amazing. My mother was previously at a large dementia care center for almost two years, which towards the end could not meet her needs. She’s been at Abel Care since December 26, 2024 and the care she receives is outstanding. Our family trusts Marius and Simona and their capable staff and I feel they treat and care for her like they would their own parents. I highly recommend Abel Care. The photo with their youngest daughter loving on my mother and sitting in her lap is a daily occurrence and one of the reasons my mother smiles, feels safe and comfortable at Abel Care.

My dad has been living at Abel Care for 6 months now. This has been the best family decision we could have made. He requires 24/7 care and the owners and staff here are so caring, kind and patient. All his meals are healthy and homemade. He interacts with the owners kids which helps keep him active and involved in their games and activities. I am a hospice aide, as such I go to many different houses and facilities. When asked for my opinion on places to bring a loved one, this is one I highly recommend. The aesthetics of the home are clean and tranquil which I find very relaxing and inviting. With being a smaller facility, the residents are able to get more personalized, efficient care. Anytime I go to this home, care has been properly given and I am greeted with smiles from the staff and residents. The food is truly number one out of the many facilities I have been too. Healthy food and it always smells delicious. What I think makes this place truly special is Simona and her family. Their little ones are always a joy to watch as they place and interact with the residents. I have seen just how many times it has brought smiles to the residents faces'. It creates such a warm family atmosphere, making me nostalgic for when I was that young, spending time with my grandparents. From a caregiver perspective, all these variants truly make it feel like a home away from home. Which I'm sure many know is not easy, if not impossible to find. Being in the geriatric field for 18 years, I seldom recommend places with confidence. I have never reviewed a home before but am now because this is the only place I would be willing to take my own grandparents to if needed.

Our family found this loving place in Howell to take care of our dad. Marius, Simona and their staff treat him and the other residents like family. Their meals are homemade and so healthy. They only have about 5 residence in the home which gives each of them special attention at all times. When we leave after a visit we truly feel so blessed that our family has found this home for my dad's 24/7 care. Their beautiful kids are also such a nice part of the home. My dad enjoys watching them play and the attention they give him. Thank You to the entire staff for all you do!

When I first walked in, the first thing I noticed was how clean everything is! Next was Cristina’s kind and comforting presence. Able Care feels like you’re just walking into someone’s lovely home. The residents were all smiles and the staff was just as happy. I felt completely comfortable moving my aunt into Able Care, and when she passed away they helped us so much. This home is one of the nicest I have seen with incredible staff. My neighbor and friend lived here for about 2 months until he passed away and he told me how great it was and I saw for myself when I came to visit him. The home is newly remodeled with new furniture and fresh paint and such. The staff are kind and friendly and really care about the residents and families. I cannot recommend this place enough. My sister was at Kay D's Elderly Care Home when ownership was transferred to Abel Care. What an amazing and smooth transition it was, much to our surprise. We were worried that my sister would become even more confused, but Christina, Abel and their staff were so warm and loving and helpful that she settled right in. I can't say enough positive things about Abel Care. The staff is outstanding! I cried when I went to escort my sister on an outing - they had curled her hair and put makeup on her - she looked better than she had in many years and felt so beautiful and so proud of herself! They are all so compassionate, encouraging and kind. Since I live out-of-state, I didn't get to visit often and spent a lot of time on the phone with my sister. Many times she would forget we were talking, and I wouldn't hang up, hoping she would remember and carry on with the conversation. The interactions between her and the staff (who were unaware I was still on the phone) warmed my heart and for the first time since she had been put in care, I felt that she was in the best, most caring place ever. I also appreciated that when I did make it to Michigan they let me stay with her long as I wanted and made me feel at home. Cristina and staff were always available to help me understand things my sister was going through and were so patient with her and with me. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how excellent the home cooked food was, since that was something my sister eagerly looked forward to each day! And when she mentioned something she felt hungry for, Cristina would try to incorporate it into the weekly menu. Last of all, the staff was so respectful and comforting in my sister's last days and hours. They allowed my niece to crawl in bed with her and hold her until she passed.
