Sunrise of Cascade Senior Living is a great place to live. First of all the facility is beautiful both inside and out and is well maintained by the staff. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy that you can either sit and relax quietly or have friends and entertain. There are multiple patios, plus it’s located in an area where there is a lot of green space. The staff is also very attentive and tries to do everything they can to meet the residence needs. There are events and entertainment for residents to enjoy, there are tours, restaurant visits, and scenic Rides for people to get out of the facility and enjoy the fresh air. The residents are friendly. And the staff do their very best to make sure they meet the needs of the community . There are regular communication meetings for the residents to discuss any issues. There is a residents council meeting where we get to talk with leadership about any issues or concerns that we might have, and then there’s the dining council where we also get to talk about any issues as it relates to the food or the dining experience overall. Residents can have pets, family and friends can and do bring pets, and there is even a facility dog named Augie. I think anyone who chooses Sunrise as the place where they want to be will be happy here. There are crafts and plenty of opportunity to interact with other residents or just spend a quiet afternoon alone you choose your level of participation, but it’s always available to anyone that has to do with our meals. Making sure the menu is corrected somtuimyytyypi yuh T6he rooms that you need you can get in some of your furniture to help make. You feel sat home. . The facility is located in a wonderful area and there are many opportunities for residents to go shopping or go out to eat if they choose to. The only comment that I would make that I could see for improvement would be in the meals. We have the chef and is trained, but it’s not allowed to really stretch his wings and do different things that chefs typically do, I guess it’s because of the number of residence that he has to accommodate. But it would be nice if we could get meals that don’t disrupt your.

Sunrise of Cascade is great place, it's so warm and welcoming. Excellent leadership from the top...Deb Rost is amazing and always has time for us. Rachel Battista was our first contact and earned our trust right away. Now, our loved one is happy, sleeping and eating well, has friends and is taking part in SO many activities...including getting her hair and nails done! Responsive, friendly and highly trustworthy staff in every department at Sunrise!

I was planning on writing a better review, but then I got COVID while visiting my family member who lives at Sunrise. If a healthy, vaccinated visitor is getting exposed to covid, they aren't doing enough to protect residents. Mostly they appeared to be doing nothing to protect residents. I even heard that a member of staff went to work while sick. My family member's nurse wasn't even informed that there was covid on site when she visited. (This took place a few months ago). The food is pretty awful, staff is mostly on top of things but they seem stretched thin. Sometimes it was impossible to get a hold of someone to help with pain management, first you have to track down the right person and then you have to hope they remember to dispense the medication.

Our family could not be more grateful for the care and kindness shown to my grandma at Sunrise of Cascade. From the very first interaction, the team made the entire move-in process smooth and stress free. We were guided through every step with compassion and professionalism, helping my grandma settle in comfortably and quickly feel at home. The entire staff is truly exceptional. They take the time to get to know each resident personally and treat them with the same warmth and respect they would show their own family. Knowing my grandma is surrounded by such dedicated and caring people brings our family great peace of mind. The community itself is bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The meals are delicious, the activities are engaging, and the overall atmosphere feels cheerful and welcoming. There’s a real sense of belonging here that you can feel the moment you walk through the doors. We are so thankful to everyone at Sunrise for creating such a safe, comfortable, and compassionate environment for their residents and, more importantly, our grandma.

I’m an outside hospice vendor and absolutely love working with Sunrise! I would trust them to care for my own family without hesitation. The building is clean, bright, and truly feels like home. Amazing facility and staff! Our grandma recently moved into this facility and they have made her feel right at home. The communication from the sales team made the transition a seamless and simple process. They were very accommodating with the timeline as grandma was in and out of the hospital prior to her move. Our grandma is so happy as a resident here and has really come out of her shell, making lots of new friends and getting involved in a bunch of new activities. Highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a lovely place for themselves or their family members.

Just wanted to share a different perspective, especially after reading a recent review that might set a record for the longest run-on sentence ever written. Everyone is so happy to have Deb Ross back. She is one of the hardest working, most caring, and dedicated people I know. She puts her heart into what she does and truly wants the best for the residents and staff. It’s easy to criticize, but not everyone sees the full picture of what it takes to run a place like that day in and day out. Deb handles tough situations with grace, even when others may not. Im glad I got to meet her, and get to know her. Her character and commitment shouldn’t go unrecognized.

They consistently delivered on the care package developed for our Mom in a very professional manner. Sunrise of Cascade is the perfect place for my mom to live in memory care. The staff are all so kind and caring toward all the residents - and also to me as a visitor. Mom had been living alone and insisted she was happy that way, but what a difference once she settled in at Sunrise! She smiles and jokes and has started living her best life. She has made friends, she likes the food, she has her hair done every week, and the staff keeps her engaged with all kinds of fun activities to help keep her mind active. Once a month there is a Family and Friends event which is slways a lot of fun and a meaningful way for me to interact with mom, as well as with the other residents. From communication to comfortable facilities, to personal care and everything in between, I am delighted that we chose Sunrise of Cascade!

Sunrise is a relatively small, friendly community off the beaten trail in a quiet area of Cascade Township. It offers lots of various activities and a welcoming staff. The food is good with lots of variety. Option for beer or wine at dinner. Very nice to be all on one floor. Residents are friendly, which is not always the case. (Some homes have cliques, etc., who are not open to meeting others, but this has not been a problem for our resident.) Cost for meals for visitors just went up dramatically to where it doesn't really make sense, but that's ok. We sometimes just bring our own food in now if we eat with our resident. When our resident joined, there was a resident dog and we'd love to have one again as I'm sure our resident would move throughout the facility more just to be by the dog. Lovely we can bring family pets up to visit and residents are allowed to have a pet. I hope this isn't a weird thing to say, but the community always smells good - of food and other nice smells (if you get my drift). I think they work hard on this, and it's very much appreciated. I'm still not sure about the what and wherefores of billing - what we're charge to for what and what's included in each level of care - and this is the reason for my four instead of five star rating. (But my understanding is this is not unusual for Assisted Care facilities.) I would put Sunrise of Cascade on your list to check out if this description resonates with you.

We are so happy we found Sunrise of Cascade! They took wonderful care of my father in his last few months. He kept saying he was in the most beautiful place and he was taken care of by his guardian angels. Our only regret is that we couldn’t convince him to look earlier, when he could have taken more advantage of all the activities they offered. We are forever grateful to his Angels!

This place has the BEST care and long time staff in the Grand Rapids area! Many staff have been working here for years so the residents become comfortable with familiar smiling faces. Sunrise is the only place to turn to for senior living care!

Very glad we chose Sunrise of Cascade when the time came to make this level of decision. As a family of conscientious and loving nurses, teachers and business minded professionals...my mother knew she was in very good hands with us, alone. Sunrise of Cascade is a hidden gem in the Grand Rapids area. It’s homey upscale quality made it easy for my parents to transition to living there. They have a variety of living options to choose from with more space than most facilities. Thoughtful amenities and an active calendar help residents live graciously while respecting any limitations.

When I had to find a place to have my Mom move into I wanted a place that treated her like she was their Mom. The Management and staff are all wonderful and they all are very professional. Sunrise of Cascade is an awesome place for your loved one!

My dad moved in to Sunrise a couple of weeks ago, and so far so good. He is fairly young for the demographic. His room is nice and homey, since we were able to decorate it as we wanted. Maintenance and management were very helpful with the move. You need to be let into the building and check in to visit, which I find comforting knowing he is safe. He is enjoying the meals, and is doing things I thought he would never do- like participating in exercise. Overall, things are going well. At times, staff does seem exceedingly busy for extended periods of time. I am uncertain how that may effect some residents, but my dad has personally been unaffected by it thus far.
