I have never expected to find myself in a place like this at my age. I was always very active and use to doing everything on my own, so this was a big adjustment for me. However, from the moment I arrived, I have felt welcomed,cared for and supported. Everyone-and I mean everyone have been wonderful. I am so grateful for the kindness, care, and sense of community I have found here. The oaks has become more than I've ever expected, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring welcoming environment!

During the recent visit of my father, the entire staff including the social workers, nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapist, and dining room head, were so caring and friendly. Everyone treated my father with kindness, dignity and respect.I would highly recommend this facility for those considering rehabilitation or long term care.

My mom has been here twice. I just brought her home today. The staff are all wonderful. They are as attentive as they can be. I love that they have so many different activities for the residents and families even to enjoy. I did request my mom to be placed here for the second time needed as the first time was absolutely wonderful also. I know there are many horror stories of facilities but not place. I highly recommend this facility if you are in need of help for family. I would definitely choose them again and again. The staff at Woodfield is AMAZING! Over 90 days experience with the rehabilitation/nursing care side and it has been wonderful. The age of the staff and the lack of turnover tells you people enjoy working here and are treated well! The activities are day and evening and run throughout the week so there are still things to do on the weekend. Insurance covered care so I can't speak to price, but if you are looking for somewhere to recuperate or Assisted Living I would suggest you start here! It may not be the newest facility around but it has the best level of care and competent employees!

My husband was there for almost 4 weeks. The nurses were great and so was the food. My husband is a picky eater and they worked with him to get what he wanted to eat. The place is beautiful and very clean. When it came time for him to leave my family and myself told the caseworker about our concerns. We applied for an extension and was denied even though I still was very concerned. Brought him home and he fell the next day. We are having in home PT and OT and a nurse once a week now. Feel if the caseworker and other staff that determines when they leave would have communicated with the insurance company he would still be there and would have been stronger before he came home. It is what it is now . All in all a very pleasant place.

I can not praise The Oaks and staff enough. My grandpa has been here about a month and a half, and the care has been truly exceptional. My grandfather can be stubborn and, therefore, a bit difficult at times, but the nurses are always kind and patient with him. They are able to push him just enough when needed, and can get him out to socialize or move around. The range of activities/events is phenomenal! He is also a very picky eater. On the whole, the kitchen staff has been great about following his dietary requests and meeting his needs. Every member of the Oaks' team has been such a blessing. They are angels. I feel safer knowing my grandpa is here and seeing how well he is taken care of each day.

I apologize as this is going to be a long review, but I personally read and value reviews. My father has been a resident at the Oaks for around a month now. Overall, the experience has been very positive in almost every aspect. The facility is very nice, welcoming, well-kept and you have access to your loved one around the clock if you need it. --The management team has been very helpful the couple of interactions that we have had. I would like to personally thank Kash for his help and desire to make sure our needs have been met and my dad has been well cared for. --Megan, Allison and Mitch in therapy have been great with my father. They are all very patient with the residents but also try to push them to improve. They communicate well with our family so we know what progress has been made and how we can support my dad. --The food has been surprisingly good at the Oaks. My dad has issues with his teeth and the staff is always very willing to work with him on what he wants to eat even if they have to make something special. The food service team goes to each resident daily to get their orders for the coming days meals. So you have choices for what you want, not just take it or leave it. Every meal I have seen, a great number of residents go to the dining hall to eat and socialize. You can also eat in your room if you would rather do that. If you would like to eat with your loved one on occasion, you can do that for only around $8. Where else can you get a good hot meal for that price these days? --Lisa and her team in the activities department do an AMAZING job with the residents. There are several activities planned daily for residents from bingo to cards to movies to live music, star gazing, church services and choirs..... The common areas are always decorated to look very nice and homely. You can really tell that the activities team and volunteers work hard for the residents. --The nurses and aids also do a good job with my father and other residents. Many residents need a lot of help and there are usually enough people to keep up. On occasion, (as in any facility or hospital) we have had to wait longer than desired to get in-room assistance. It is usually not excessive and only happens on occasion. All in all, the facility and all of the employees that our family has interacted with are very nice and try to do a good job to support my father and the other residents. If you are looking for a good place for your loved one to either get some rehab services or move for longer term care, you won't be disappointed with the Oaks.

I Am currently here.Everyday that I have been hereI have asked for milk of magnesia. I suffer from IBS. I have asked the physician, the physicians assistant, and the staff. I have unsuccessful. I have received 2 doses of Miralax but I told them that takes a week to work. I know this may seem small but I am miserable. Also if I don't get relief soon I may be hospitalized for the 3rd time for a small bowel instruction. I intend on leaving early and pray I don't have to return.

My mother's catheter was never cleaned during her stay. i found out as her hospice RN was examining her. she showed me the gunk that was on it. that could've given my mother a UTI which she could of become Septic. I'm not sure why staff had her catheter taped to her leg instead of having a velcro strap that would of been much more comfortable and stayed in place. I did her laundry, so I'm not sure how a couple items disappeared. Sometimes her meat was to tough for her to eat and not cut small enough. On her meal receipt it stated, "bite size." My mom was forced to wear adult diapers which were 3 times her size. she was there 20 plus days. Her nurse stated on 3/4 her injection would be in the next day...but it was never given. ” On a positive note, Eva (nurse) was awesome. PT/OT staff we great.

I went to The Oakes at Woodfield for post op surgery care and rehab. It is a wonderful, caring place. I loved it and sincerely did not want to go home. Excellent food! I can't say enough about the quality, activities, surroundings, and overall pleasant experience I had at The Oakes! ™

The staff (from aides, nurses, housekeeping, kitchen staff to social workers) are amazing. They truly care about the residents. They are helpful and friendly. My mom has been a resident here for over two years and I have nothing but praise for the care given.

My mother has been at the Oaks of Woodfield in Grand Blanc since June 2024 in the Memory Care/Legacy section. She has struggled with many health issues, dementia and delirium in the past few months. I cannot sing the praises enough of the whole staff at the Oaks. The aides, the med techs, the nurses, activities, food staff, laundry staff etc.... The front office consisting of Shannon, Nicole and Granite continue to interact with my mother and our family members. The staff always treats my mother with kindness and warmth, even when she was delirious and not so nice. It takes a village to help care for my 88 year old mother, and it gives a lot of comfort and decrease in stress for me, knowing that the Oaks of Woodfield is part of my mother's village. The Oaks at Woodfield has been amazing. My aunt came here after a stroke from the hospital and went into the rehabilitation unit. They have literally worked miracles with her. She has succeeded far beyond what the hospital had told us she would be able to do. She has since transferred into assisted living and absolutely loves it here.

As a care advocate, I consider the Oaks of Woodfield to be a care partner. The Oaks at Woodfield treats your loved one like family. My mother has been here several times for the past few years for skilled rehab. It is a peaceful environment for healing. Out of the many other homes in the area they offer the best menu selection for food and activities to keep your loved one busy. I would highly recommend the Oaks to anyone considering to use them in the future.

The Oaks is hands down the BEST place in Genesee County for your elderly loved one. We had our grandma on both the Rehabilitation side and the Assisted Living side and do not have a single complaint. The residents are treated incredibly well. The staff is loving and capable. We could not believe the amount of activities that were scheduled daily and how many residents participated. The whole environment is upbeat and positive. My grandma went from existing to THRIVING in this community and we are forever grateful for her experience! No need to look any place else...The Oaks is the ONLY choice!

If I could give The Oaks 10 stars, I would. My mom just came home after being there for about a month (in 2 different stints with a hospital visit in the middle). The care there is phenominal. The staff is so caring, attentive and encouraging. My mom has been in other facilities that were terrible experiences. I cant thank The Oaks enough for how wonderful they were to her. Highly, highly recommend.

This facility is amazing! The culture is different compare to other places. If the resident in any room calls, then no matter who passes by, a head nurse, or a therapist, or a custodian, or an aid, or a kitchen staff, tries to help or calls somebody else for help. The doctors, the nurses, and the nurse aids are knowledgable and caring, the PT and OT staff is wonderful, the food is restaurant quality, the dietitian and the kitchen stuff are incredible. Thank you to the executive director and to the clinical director for making such a difference! My mother's stay after surgery at this SAR lead to her remarkable recovery.

I'm glad places like this exist, but if they aren't properly staffed it becomes a bad place to leave a loved one. The Oaks needs more trained personnel on their roster if they intend to truly fulfill the needs of their residents. The wait time for a response to a resident calling for help ranges from 2 minutes to 10 minutes. On more than one occasion, no one showed up for over half an hour. The nurses themselves are quite good, we really liked everyone that was working in our wing of the building. The problem is not how much they care, but how much they are able to care with limited staff. For the prices they charge, I'd expect a much nicer facility and better coverage with the nurses.

Wonderful experience, because this facility has so much experience! I felt completely at ease leaving my mom here, where as the last facility I was scared to leave her because of the staff. Nurses are on the ball here, caring, knowledgable and attentive, which means the most to my family. The physician making rounds shows integrity and listens.All the staff is friendly. There is always something going on there and there are so many nooks and outdoor areas to sit with visitors. Dining is excellent, and visitors can eat meals with their loved one if they choose. I highly recommend this facility for your loved ones care!

The Rehab & Assisted Living facilities are nicely done. The PT/OT room is large and well-equipped. The Rehab & Assisted Living facilities have a living area that is nicely arranged. Where this fails is their Memory Care Unit. It has older looking furniture just lumped together in a row; we sort of felt all the funds were used in the other two areas. While we could recommend the Rehab & Assisted Living areas (assuming you will never move to the Memory Care Unit), we cannot recommend the Memory Care area.

Ugly colors, cheap and beat up inside. Bad lighting makes it look like a basement. Terrible communication!. Rarely does anyone answer the phone. "Nurses" tend to transfer me over to other nurses so no clear answers on how my father is doing. Do your loved and yourself a favor and do not go here.

If there is one place that doesn't feel like a nursing home this is the place. It's nicely decorated, most rooms are private and the staff can be amazing. Unfortunately, my Mom was in and out of the Oaks for the past 6 months. When it came time for her to stop her dialysis and hospice came in, the nurses and Dr.Daros were amazing. They kept her as comfortable as possible and showed true sadness when she passed away. They always called if something had to be done or changed on Mom. They kept me informed at all times what was going on with her. So I would like to send a big Thank You for making Mom feel comfortable and safe, and thank you for all that you did for my sisters and I,. Thank you.
